Thats my point Its a damn oil change that might give someone a slight advantage "might" to win a virtual car that all of can afford buy for our slevs. I get that rules are rules and they should be followed but they were not so what run the cars and see what happens. I just entered to see if I had learned anything from all the great info that has been put out there for people to read. I give cars away every day I could care less about a prise I just wanted some tips on tuning.

Well, since I don't know if your car is one of the cars that haven't been oil changed, I can't say much. But it's all the same. "It's just for fun" =/= "Infringe rules". Rules are there to be followed, and when you signed up for something like this, you agreed to follow whatever rules and terms that are brought up to you.

As I'm saying for the 3rd time, the easiest way out of here is a 24 hour slot for those who are affected by the oil change rule to rebuild your car's parts list to comply. Arguing otherwise should just be resolved with a DQ from this event.

Following exactly the rules obviously reduces the number of possible cars for this particular competition.
It forces the tuners to make their choice within a range of cars, which are in most cases not excessively attractive for racing.
When I read the rules some days ago I thought that this was the actual intention of the contest.
Since the debatable cars in the running contest are definitely not the underdogs in the 380PP-Class the whole array now is somehow distortet...

...but debates like these always remind me of the old days of the Renault Turbo Cup in the 80's. The boost pressure was fixed by rule but of course you could fix a hidden bowden cable on the ashtray flap to regulate the boost pressure.;)

Motorsport always seems just about finding a way avoiding the rules without observable breaking them.

My suggestion would have been: Go on with the competition with all cars and take out the questionable cars from the end result. But now the decision already has fallen as I can see...

Nevertheless thank you very much for the tuning competition, krenkme! I still had a lot of fun in finding a chav-car:D and tuning it.

I changed oil twice once before I tuned it and once before I shared it but I honestly dont know how many miles it takes to break in the engine it was used so I figured it was all good. No big deal and I get why he canceled it it went from a fun little challenge to a pain in the butt. It is what it is maybe Ill try again next time? It was fun while it lasted :)

If I give a 24hr to fix, then we'll have the "how come they get an extended deadline? I had to rush to get my car in on time".

If I DQ those that have not followed the rule well start over the "it won't make a difference if I do or not so whats the point" debate.

So again I am very sorry to cancel this event. It was not a choice I wanted to make, and one I am saddened to do. For those who's first entry into a shootout, they are not all messed up as this has become. A new, better, shootout will be starting up very soon, so please enter that one and continue to have fun. Don't let this bickering put you off such great events.

For those looking for feedback on there tune, please keep your car on share, and I'll try to run them this weekend.

Harvey, no need to be sorry, this thing was going down fast and you did nothing to hurt it.

GranTourist, thanks for entering, and please continue to enjoy these shootouts.

Again, sorry for the cancellation, but you can't please them all I guess.

Krenkme, would it be alright if someone else, say me or Onboy or whoever took over this mini-shootout dor you? I'd be willing to run it. (Onboy help me )

Krenkme, it's a parts change. Put a blanket ban on any alterations to any part of the tune that is not the parts list, transmission included. And if they complain? DQ them, on the spot. No complaints.

WOW!!.... i seem to have missed out on so much while i was sleeping. As a tuner i would have been more than happy to allow non compliant cars to be re-built, but hey i suppose you cant make everyone happy. Thanks anyway krenkme.... keep smilin' .

Wait, how about just extending the deadline for everyone for 24 hours? That way those who need to change oil can, and the rest of us get some more time to tune.

Sorry testers...

Yup, that is what this shootout is about, FUN!!! So lets continue to have FUN 👍 Thanks for putting us back on track :dopey:

I also would love some more feed back and times please *puppy dog face*... oh wait, I'm a tester too :dopey:

Not sure what has happend here , and no nobody needs to explain because A i am to lazy and tired atm to read . B i didn't participate in this event ....

However *Puppy Dog Face* is my style boss .... :P
You use you're crazy / freaky parrot face :D

Hey Krenkme, sorry to see this challenge turned into a nightmare for you, I totally understand that you had to pull the pin.

Anyway, with update 2.07 rolling out (so soon??) and potentially bringing its own set of issues, it seems the gods were against this challenge. Hope things go better next time.

Nope. They should just need a new parts list, no need at all for the car to even touch the tarmac of any track.

Not really, it only seemed to fix a SSRX bug from what I've read. Physics don't seem terribly affected by it.

That can't be enforced though, hypothetically someone could use the time to make some last minute tweaks to the tune. That's why I say give an extra 24 hours to everyone, and if you're still not sorted by the end of it you deserve to be DQ'ed. It would stop the "he got more time to tune than me" remarks too.

Nope. We have things called cameras nowadays, we use them, take a picture of the tune settings on both the car and the posted settings, and when they put the car back on share, if we suspect something has changed in the settings sheet, we can just use the pictures as reference. As damn near 100% fool-proof an idea as I can think of.

Onboy123
No, if it can be used to enforce the rules, it isn't even slightly unnecessary.

I meant compared to my method, but it's irrelevant right now if we can't revive this shootout.

500th post! :P

If you guys want this mess, and think you can fix it. It's yours. I just can't deal with the bickering and politics anymore. If it seems like I've given up, I have. The fun has gone for me.

You guys can have it. I'll maintain the posts for the testers, and the prizes, but from here on out, it is no longer my shootout. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that krenkme.

If no one else wants to run this shootout, I will. :) With Onboy's help of course.

Alright, but just remember, you dragged into this, I take no responsibility if I have to use the Diamond-bladed castration knife Roj gave me for my birthday.

Anyway…

19 Hours until Parts Change Deadline is met

To reiterate for those who weren't here and can't be bothered to read everything-

You have 24 hours from 3PM GMT+8 onwards to fix up the oil issue, miss it? Tough, no excuses.

You are NOT TO change the original tune, this is merely a parts change to accommodate the extra power given by the MANDATORY oil change.

And if you're going to complain? Simply put, don't bother.

Yeah what he said.

Shootout is continuing as normal. Testers can begin testing tomorrow at 7AM GMT. Sorry for those who have already driven tunes.

Iam so sorry to hear that shootout it will be end by cancellation of this challenge . But from the another side all tuner they did good job in tune this cars and make it as monster car at 380 pp vs cars at 430 pp . I hope krenkme that soon you will host new shootout mate . I back out of this shootout and i will join the new one with you mate but i need you to give feed back about my slow car if its ok with you :-) .sorry for my English not my native .

I'm not even sure how this has lead to krenkme getting upset and handing the shootout over to someone else. Can you guys not read? Not only have I posted what the rule for oil changes meant, but so has the guy who wrote the rule! Sure, it's up to the event organizer if they want to use that version of the rule or go with mandatory oil changes for standard and premium cars, but you can't say a solution hasn't been presented to you already. It really sounds like you're all crying just because you can.

Since I'm effectively disqualified for not oil changing a brand new car, I'll be taking the Atenza off share. Good luck with the shootout guys.

Nope, shootout ain't over yet, just had a transfer of management. :)

Anyway, having been through the list, it seems that the majority of the guys here aren't blind, the cars seem to have been oil changed and I know for a fact that me and Trackripper have as well. That leaves the following who are either unsure of or haven't done one:

- VTiRoj (Haven't changed oil)
- GeeBaby (Unsure, not listed)
- LanceVance (Unsure, not listed)
- Jahgee1124 (Unsure, not listed)

I haven't done one because it's a premium car. Doing an additional oil change pushes me to 382PP on the stock motor so I can't do that either.

Edit: I'm out as a tester too.

I understand that it has put you off and out of this competition, however, given how current situation has turned out, I don't know what else to do other than to make things as stringent as possible and enforce what I interpenetrate the rules as.

My car doesn't need an oil change. I did an engine overhaul and chassis right before sharing it.

I must say that I have lost all excitement about the shootouts. I wanted to join them because it seemed like a lot of fun but seeing how quickly things turn, it doesn't seem like all the fun I thought it was. I mean a frigging guy entered a Prius, did he think he was going to win, NO he just wanted to be a part of the mayhem but most guys don't see it that way. They worry about winning and what do you really win. I felt like I won just being a part of the shootout.

Just venting a bit, I don't like when fun stuff turns into a bunch of BS over nothing.
