Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

Given all the time I've put into it for just two bronze medals and a gold, that's extremely depressing to read.
Other than Gran Turismo, I play F1 mods in rFactor exclusively and extensively during the F1 season, so if it makes you feel any better, my experience in that probably helps me a lot.

Yeah, it sucks because with the controller you can't physically turn as hard as you can with the wheel to really dig in on some turns which means you have to take the turns at a considerably slower speed.

Edit: Meegulls, Gold is very do able on Monza with the controller. I got one myself.

I'm still trying to get used to the car. I got all assists off except for ABS and the Skid one. I'm starting to see that not letting go of the gas and just getting on the brake works for me somewhat.

It's just going to take a while before I start taking those turns like Vettel did.
 
I got the Monza bronze, currently on the nurburgring bronze, Ill get that too. Im using CONTROLLER btw...
I heard Suzuka isnt doable with controller, have to check on that.

Congratulations! 👍 Try next Monza because you will feel better with Two Gold's when you try to Beat Suzuka as last and most difficult. Knowing that you already did 2/3 of the job will keep you motivated to not stop trying.

Bronze is doable on Suzuka, doesn't seem that the controller can handle it though. With a wheel you can take the esses without braking, I can't manage that with the controller.

And yeah Gold is possible on Monza.
 
3 GOLDS ALL DONE! :)
Got silver on all 3 about three weeks ago and had not bothered to go back until now... Took 2.5 hours with DFGT and all aids off except ABS on 1.
So glad it is over... Was dreading going back and trying again, it can be so frustrating when your so close yet so far! :sly:
 
I got 3 golds 2 days ago thank god, Monza was faily easy, got silver on suzuka and nurburgring, then after a couple hours on suzuka and being .016 outside the gold time I nailed it then nailed nurburgring 2 attempts later couldnt believe it was so happy :D
 
Got three bronzes and to me that is an achievement. Had to borrow a wheel from a friend, never ever have had a ride with steering controller.

Couldn't think I would put enough time to get the gold ones. Man that was hard..
 
don't normally complain about races but this one is hard as F with controller. And usually i don't like them dumbing the game but i am hoping they patch it so we have a few more seconds for bronze (like 5-10 more)

Just got gold on suzuka.

First lap was really bad and i wanted to quit 1:06:00 but the second....

That is a tough challenge, but I seemed to have pushed more than you one lap 1. I got a 1:05.8, then a 1:04.1.

We end up with the same time, but I know where I could have improved by about 0.5 to 1 second on both laps.

These 3 challenges all come down to car and track familiarity.
Nurburgring: I was pulling my hair out for about half an hour, then got it.
Monza: Took 5 minutes (seemed to be the easiest)
Suzuka: Was cursing at the PS3 for the 45 minutes of tries until I was successful. I am a very angry person.

After golding this challenge, I thought to myself, "Now what?"
I'm bored :(

Off topic: I'm still puzzled as to why people want duplicated X1's. Everyone can get 4 on their own by progressing :indiff: . Also, the car ain't too special. I'm kinda bored of it now.
 
Because most of those guys are noobs using Dualshock, and/or they use wheel but still don't have enough skills to do that so it's easier just trade.
 
They should update the gold and silver times at least on Suzuka and maybe Nurburgring GP/F 'cause it's no fun at all with DS3. I mean come on, even S. Vettel doesn't get the gold time -.-'..

Bronze is really easy with a DS3 but gold, NO WAY! And anyone that claims to have done it with a DS3, I don't believe. I need to see proof in terms of a video.
 
Just unlocked it this morning, it was difficult at first glance, but when I got used to the car, braking points and how to steer, I managed all gold. just finished Suzuka twenty minutes ago. It's so satisfying!!

It's all about learning the car before unleashing it. Can't wait to try my hand at the challenge.

Exactly! Monza was easy, I got gold on the third attemp. At nurburgring I got exaclty the time requested for gold, 2:08.000, I was so happy when it appeared on the screen! Anyway, I had to switch down Force Feedback because i was scared to break my DFGT at nurburgring, the car here bounces a lot :nervous:

Firstly, learn the definition of "noob", rather than using it as a generically offensive way of calling people, and secondly don't think of yourself as higher just for that. Some people may not wish to spend that much on a wheel, solely for that game, or not afford it. Elitism near its worst.

Besides, these "noobs" can still get all gold in everything else - not me, but other more talented people can :)
