Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

then I am determined to Gold these events without any assists.

I realize that you have to pretty much run a perfect lap for both laps to get gold. It's really hard especially with the speed of this thing.

Getting Suzuka gold with DS3 is technically impossible... although I doubt anyone has proved it, with evidence that everyone's struggling, I think a driver's abilities are not enough... it is like driving an F1 car with a steering wheel that is just a bar, not a wheel.

IMO this should have been realistically achievable for those using DS3.

I'd recommend studying some of the videos that have been posted. From what I've seen, you should be able to get through the esses without braking, you should be able to take that right turn after the esses without braking, and you should be able to get through the final chicane in the 100 mph range. Those are the major ones. The hairpin turn is pretty easy to navigate, that two point turn that's before the back straight is kind of tricky I guess. You could be messing up there.

I can hold 4th gear through the esses just feathering the throttle to keep my line. I think I lose ground braking into the 2nd right after the esses.

I'll just go bang my head some more.. the ring wasn't so bad and monza or whatever was a cake walk.

I'm just concentrating on Monza for now - as I'm only 2 seconds away so far (just using standard sixaxis controller). Come on!!! 2 seconds....!!! I'd be happy with just bronze.

Thanks for the advice, but i believe i'm going to set this challenge aside for now and just get back to car collecting.

I have heard that using assists makes it easier?I don't see how,but i guess it's possible.

Newbie to the forums here, but...I will say with utmost certainty that you don't want assists. The only one you'll want at all is ABS -- and I'd recommend putting it on 10. The tires never lock up/slide (in a bad way) under braking, so might as well give yourself additional grip.

Also, the tires never spin other than when you launch out of the pits, so no need for traction control. And ASM just slows you down in the turns -- that will kill your lap times on Suzuka, particularly.

Here's my videos with some tips that I found useful...

(NOTE: I got gold at Suzuka at like 4:30 in the morning and I did multiple takes of the video, so my voice was hoarse and I was tired, hence the mulitple "screwups".)

I got gold for all of the 3 events. I must say that for me, nurburgring was the hardest.

My advice is for you to brake and turn at the same time in some of those not so tight corners. Early braking doesn't work in this event. You really got to trash the X2010... and trash your steering wheel.. now my DFGT has a mind of it's own.

It presses the PS button and pauses the game by itself occasionally haha but at least I got gold for the 3 events :)

I finally got Gold on Nurburgring, 2:07:7xx. However For some reason, Its addicting to go back to Nurburgring and improving my time.

All that is left is Suzuka *shudders*

Jesus this is hard. I have to admit I have driven an X1 before but this handles differently. Gonna keep trying though.

Spoon is where I messed up the most. Even after getting gold, I still haven't mastered that turn with the X2010. I got a good first lap (1:05:4xx) and on the second lap, i lost nearly half a second on spoon (terrible braking job there), finishing with a 2:09:917.

The esses can be done without braking, just throwing the X2010 around (my wheel hates me right now), Degner 1 you can take without braking, although i had to let off for a split second, and degner 2, you can almost cut inside to save a couple hundredths. My best time through to the checkpoint was 27:8xx, and then spoon hit me and checkpoint 2 was 52:4xx. Brak just before the sign, blah blah.

The video that helped me the most was Stunes on pg 27. I had to watch something since spoon was frustrating to no end.

I got all golds with patience. I'm stubborn by nature so I was gonna get this eventually. I did the Ring, And Monza with defalut settings and manual tranny, which was hard as hell. After help from a member here, Dark_Ruffo, he gave me some advice on Suzuka. I changed the settings and beat the track on my third try. The steering wheel is the way to go.

Just all gold This Challenge today. I took out my classic Red MOMO force for this challenge because I can't handle this monster by G27. Took me 7 driving night to complete. First night using G27,2 sec slower to bronze on nur.Gp, second night, using MOMO force, all bronze and feel that I've been dragged to hell... seems impossible to get faster. In 3rd night, try to boost up all the action: brake harder, turning quick & sharp, step on the gas as quick as I can, got gold on Nur.GP.
4th night, gold on Monza. 5th night, silver on Suzuka, 6th night, 0.064 sec slower then Gold record.... finally Gold on today... Jesus, I found that driving fast not the most difficult part, the problem is driving stable & accurate on 2nd lap.
Most of the time I drive much more faster & stable on 1st lap &
very easy to fail on the 2nd lap.
This challenge no fun, not driving, just grinding, way to programming a player become a robot.
but the truth is : no HELL , no HEAVEN,
still worth to beat it.

I finally got to give this challenge a go with my G27. I bronzed Nurburg and Suzuka, and silvered Monza without SRF. Afterwards I turned it on to gold Monza, and then spent over an hour just to get silver on Nurburgring. Now I'm shattered :ill:.

Golded Monza the other week. Just golded Nurburgring. Taking a breather, then onto Suzuka tonight..Very satifying to get golds on this challenge...;-))...

I golded Monza, bronzed the other 2 by the slightest margins with a wonky DFP sitting on my lap with the TV at a slight angle. Fast forward, new G27 and a proper stand later, today, still sitting awkward, TV to my left, I managed a silver at the Nurb 2:09.4xx and 2:10.9xx at Suzuka. Blue X2010, mine, now. :dopey:

Strangly, I'm MUCH closer to golding Suzuka than the Nurb GP, and I have always been crap at Suzuka (just more crap @ the nurb i guess). But videos have helped me find limits I didn't know before, 2 hrs ago, I went from going "balls out" with a 2:14.xxx, then wondering where will I find the extra 5 secs, to being theoretically able to gold rather easily, if I can string together 2 stupid laps without making the dumbest mistakes. The Nurb, on the other hand, I dont know, I think I know where I'm slow but I've not been able to go any faster (so it seems) and videos hasn't helped much. So I don't know, it's the only 2 "things" in GT5 I've not golded so far, and I want my carbon X2010. Didn't think I'd stood a chance all these time but now that I know how close I've came to it, I want it BAD...

I golded all challenges in within 1 hour. To keep up with Vettel there's a little hint, you have to turn on one of the ads, if you won't you'll never finish with gold in your pocket. Happily it's not a cheat :) I finished every race with vantage of over 1 sec ;)

Got Gold on this, felt really good
took me about 1h for each event, crazy...I thought I was gonna get carpal tunnel syndrome from shifting and steering so violently

actually golded Nurbugring in a very funny way, I'll try to upload the replay soon

I have been trying the Vettel Challenge since i unlocked it to get gold, and finally yesterday i sat down for 3 hours and golded all three events, i feel relieved at last. :)

Guys, just wanted to share that I got the slowest possible gold time on Suzuka :dopey:

2.10.000 sharp!

Hehe, it was actually a very lowsy effort, but somehow worked. I had much better attempts, only to overcook it a corner or two before finish.
Suzuka took as much time to gold as Nurb GP and Monza combined.

It was fun, difficult (but not insanely), I have the full set of X2010s, but I don't think I'm going to drive them outside the Vettel challenge. There are so many great REAL cars that need attention.

Also, X2010 is being navigated as a projectile, not driven as a car, I think.

yeah this chaleng seams very diffacuilt at the beg of but with time, practice and alot of drive you get the hang of the car getin these chalengs in bronce with the dual shock is just as good as getin gold with the wheel just dont tell pd cus they wont give you the platinum trohpy 8D but suzuka is denfently the hardest to get good you just got to trust the grip of can brake late to put as much prueser on the front tries piont and shoot

Please can you tell me whayt is an ad and explain a little more please

Thanks in advance mate:):)👍👍👍

I am less than half a second away from being able to say I've got all gold. If my best first and second laps on Suzuka were combined I'd already have all gold! Gonna work on it some more now.

PROTIP: Turn off the HUD completely and turn off the ghost. This will help you concentrate. Just now I spent probably 40 minutes trying and failing to gold nurburgring. Then I turned off the HUD and got gold straight away! :D:D:D
