Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

Finally golded Suzuka to complete all three tracks on gold. Insanely frustrating at times, but massively satisfying when you do it. Now onto grinding B-spec for a breather...:):)..

Going to try and gold them tomorrow, I feel short changed as the times have now increased for bronze.

I really dont see how. You'd have to have your current time at some point anyway if you're target is gold, so whats the difference.

This way other people who only have the DS3 get a shot.

Congrats mate.

With the trade restriction being reinstated on March 3, I realized that now was the time to get back to the Vettel Challenge. I have previously done the bronze level but wanted to get the Carbon Prototype and dupe it. You get enough with the two Vettle versions for grinding and can buy the color versions at any time since I am at level 40 B, but each game save can only win the one Carbon. I have the DFGT.

Silver trophies took only about 60 minutes. I started on the Gold level at Suzuka figuring that once that was accomplished the rest would be downhill. Suzuka took 1 ½ hours, I had the lap splits to get gold but did not manage to put in quality back to back laps until then. Nurburgring took only 30 minutes since the run off areas are in bounds and you just have to get the chicane two laps in succession. Monza was 15 minutes with only the second chicane to figure out and blow by the ghost. So two of my remaining >Million trades will be the X1 Prototype to secondary accounts. I have almost all of the other >Million cars that I want already stashed away.

Golded Suzuka today (my arms are pretty sore haha), now have every special event golded. The frustrating part of this challenge, especially suzuka is that I kept turning in laptimes that were well in gold territory but stringing two great laps together in a row was really tough psychologically, at least for me. Kept getting an adrenaline rush when I knew I was about to win and would screw up spoon or the final chicane :nervous: Final gold time was 2:09:615 on suzuka. Pretty happy with that, doubt I'll ever go back and do it again!

Same for me, the adrenaline rush killed it every time, i would mess up and fly off the track in most cases, after having done 2 perfectly clean laps, when i finally got it i was totally drained. In comparison, i found Nurburgring and Monza quite easy, Suzuka is much harder.

I golded all 3 over the last week using a DS3 helped alot with these settings...
ABS:10
SRF:embarrassed:n
steering sensitively:7
and everything else off

With a wheel:
Nürb ~10 tries to gold
Monza ~5 full tries, because I smashed against lesmo 1 barrier several times..
Suzuka ~50 tries? but I golded it.

Ford Focus Madrid seasonal WITH restrictions (and without SRF) was harder..

gold job bro props yo.Seams like after the update with the steering senesitively is a life savor for ds3 users on this vettel chalenge. After golding dis before the update with the wheel, i quickly notced this steering aid and told all my friends using a ds3 to mess with this seting. awseome job bro 👍

Just made it to the challenge. Man this thing is IMPOSSIBLE to handle. I may have to wimp out and turn on SRF and ASM....

Don't turn on ASM -- you're just gonna slow your car down dramatically in the turns. The car will NOT (I repeat - NOT) spin out unless you drop a tire or two while pulling the wheel really hard.

Was the same for me. Totally drained when I was done and could not string consecutive laps together. Had to do it enough times until my brain would accept running at that pace for multiple laps

Just golded the Nürburgring using only ABS 1 (SRF, ASM, TCS off). My laptimes were 1:03,955 and 1:03,949. What I did find challenging mentally was the fact that you had to push equally hard on your second lap. For me, it is natural to be a slightly more cautious towards the end, but when attempting this challenge I had to keep reminding myself to push all the way through.

Now I have only Suzuka left, but I think I'm gonna leave that for a while. My G27 is boiling.

By the way: how much easier is this challenge with SRF on? Has anyone done back-to-back laps with and without SRF?

Went back to complete this challenge on a secondary account for another X2010 proto. Wanted one to put online. Started with Suzuka and that took 40 minutes. Nurburgring took 30 minutes and was into the gold by 0.5 seconds. Monza was on the fifth try. So after you have the racing line figured out with the critical braking points, it is much easier to do over again. I think some of the previous GT version gold license tests are harder than these challenges. I can remember spending 2 days to get Mission 34 gold.

Golded Suzuka yesterday.i golded Monza and Nurburgring a few weeks ago.
Suzuka was a real pain in the ass. Nurburgring was also hard but a little bit easier than Suzuka. I had so many gold runs but i always screwed up in the last chicane.

Did it with SRF: On
ABS: 1

All other aids off.

Laptimes:

Nurburgring: 2.08.00:cool:
Monza: 2.03.794
Suzuka 2.09.864

Props to everyone who can manage gold on these events. It takes skill and/or a really good driving setup.

Myself, I've come to accept the fact that I will never complete this game. For the life of me, I just can't bronze Suzuka (even with the new lowered time). I'm just going to leave it, rather than get frustrated. This game is supposed to be fun, so I will concentrate on other things (like keeping my Matrix up to date).

Congrats to those who can manage this challenge :)

I've got the normal controller, and it's driving me crazy.......This car is borderline impossible to do with the controller. Any ideas on how to beat it?

It is possible, though you'll need to drive at the very limit of the car and "throw" it around corners. Progressive acceleration is the way to go, especially on Suzuka. I got all golds with TCS off, though it was pretty hard.

You don't want traction control on. You're only slowing your car down. This thing never spins the tires (in a bad way) other than when you're launching from the pits.

Finally, these challenges was a pain. Did it eventually:dopey:

Did first bronze on all tracks, used about 2 hours on them an thought that i would skip the rest of it. But after some days i had to try, even I had only one hand as the other is injuried.
Used about 10h on Nurburgring, 3h on Monza and 14 on suzuka as the last one.
I even forgot to save the replay on suzuka in the state of mood I was:dunce:
Maybe I will do it again sometime.

SRF on, ABS 1 other than on Suzuka ABS 10

The times
Nurburgring: 2.07.762
Monza: 2.03.866
Suzuka 2.09.893
