Apart from one is a Toyota and the other is an Audi.

They run in the same GTP class, but that's the only similarity.

I'm pretty sure the basis for the Speed 8 was a version of the Audi R8 (as shown in Crackers post)... Audi developed a closed top LM car alongside the open version and they both ran sometime in the late 90's early 00's... it definitely used the same engine.

For a car being 6 years old now, and only losing $70-80,000 of its value isn't bad for an exotic. 40th's still sell for over $200,000 these days (they were originally $300,000). Keep in mind some early LP models are being sold for in this price range as well, and have taken a bigger hit on their value considering they start at somewhere just under $400,000.

Besides, the value will return. Anniversary Lamborghini's go for as much as they used to these days, esp. SE30's.

This is my point. As an investment, a molested "collectors edition" will never fetch as much as something as close to factory as possible.

True, though considering molested isn't a word I would use. It will still go for a good penny 5 years from now. There are "molested" SE30s & 25th Ann. Countach's out there selling for as much as their factory counter-parts.
