Got Gold and done. I've had my fill of Willow Springs from previous events. I like the track, but way too many events held here in my opinion.
I just hate that it couldn't be tuned. This is one of my favorite cars, but forced to drive it stock? That's no fun.

I was sort of happy it was stock as I hardly ever drive vehicles in this configuration and the car did much better than I expected (It was horrible on GT5).

Being stock didn't bother me, its just the track....they keep using it over and over and over..... I'm just burned out on it for now. I don't mind either way about the car tuning though, each has its own challenges. 👍

What I did for 8 and 9 is flat out through 8 and I got hard on the break towards the inside of the corner, then I kicked it down to 3rd to get it to rotate a bit with a little sliding. I aimed for the inside apex curb (try not to touch it though) and from there you should be safe. (Sorry about foggy details been a couple days)

there are a few turn I spun a tire purposely (2, 4 and 9). Turn 2 I went through with my right tire lit up the entire way but straighten out to stop the wheelspin as soon as you feel you can exit the corner. Turn 4 it was just a quick jab to rotate a bit tighter (as I kept flying off the track ) and turn 9 for the reasons I stated. I try to stop the wheelspin asap when I see corner exit between turns 4 and 5 I shift up to forth and right after turn 5 as well.

I'm currently in the 50th-100th range I believe in position so if others are going faster with no wheel spin. I'd like to know as well.

Thank you for your detailed response! After a few practice laps tweaking my driving to what u said above, I immediately lowered my time. Not only that but i just felt in more control of the car, telling it where to go instead of just holding on hoping to not eat sand.

I understand why you purposely spun the tires during those turns. I guess my question is to general and theres always going to be too many variables (car, track, tires) to be able to flat out say no tire spin, screeching is better. And YES, 50th-100th range i think is more than enough credit to show your driving style works. Works very well! 👍 Thanks again!

The positioning wasn't really important. only mentioned it as I am quite new commenting in this thread and it takes away a tad of the questions. I was honestly a bit iffy on if it would help or not as I tend to drive differently than most. Glad it helped.

I have to turn my brightness down to -0.8 for it to not look washed out and blurry!
Just as GTP_CargoRatt pointed out. The red glare was quite annoying. Turning down brightness did the trick. First time I ever had to do that for an event....

What an exciting paint chip!

Yes, it is, I like it and I think it looks OK.

I have used it on my 'GT-R M-Spec Nur' and I used the FT-1 prize 'GT FLUORESCENCE 002-C' chip for the 'ENKEI RP03' wheels.

I think the "fun factor" in this one is for the wheel users and triggers=gas/brake folks as the top times are all about short-shifting, power- and trail-braking, and maybe a bit of e-brake.

I use the triggers for gas. Don't get me wrong, this was a fun trial, with a nice track, and my favorite Mustang to ever hit the road, I just wish I could've played with the suspension a bit is all.

Always preferable, to be sure. But if you can get into the short-shifting at least, this was definitely one of the more fun TTs I've seen. I started using the sticks with GT2 or 3 and my fingers cramped as soon as I saw how times on this one were going and briefly considering remapping:lol:.

I remapped because I heard you could be seconds faster on the triggers. Big lies, but kind of helps the immersion, if your feet were your hands...

Oh I don't know about it being lies....I think if you learn it that way and it's natural to you, it's why a lot of DS3 users are now almost up with wheel users. I definitely see the potential, and wish I could adapt.

I adapted pretty quick, and am used to it. I had a marginal improvement because I could full-throttle brake to keep a bit of momentum.

I was quite happy with the look of the track - the distant hills behind the pits could help picking to a turn in point for the final two turns... But in the end I got Gold on my first lap. I was a bit early on the brakes and saw the blue lines shoot past but for some reason I kept re-passing them - All those laps in the 8 lap Super license event paid off.

"Bang!"

Well that was a bit of fun! No tcs or abs and it was almost a challenge!

I think I gained about two seconds in turn two by keeping the throttle wide open and letting the inside wheel smoke up all the way round. Two seconds - nuts to being careful!

Did an hour with this race last night for 1:28.381. Saw I was only a few tenths off Cargo's time so did another hour today, well you never know.
Anyway I noticed he was a tad faster today and sure enough, he has posted a quicker time since his time yesterday.
I finished about 1/2 a second behind him with 1:27.744. Not suggesting I'm spurring him on, but then.......

It's a dirty job Mike but someone's gotta do it.

Now some here chase Doodles, Immortal Pilot etc etc, I chase Cargo and until I have improved to the extent that Cargo is chasing me, well, lets talk about that when it happens.

Oh ye of little faith.

Oh, I have no doubt at all that you'll improve, matter of fact, I expect it. 👍 What you are forgetting though, is with your improvement, comes my improvement. ;) You see, I'm already 5 steps ahead of you.....the only way you'll catch up is if I just stop walking. :sly: You see how this all works now, don't you? ;)
