So, how's the KERS working out for you? Nicely?
It certainly has mate, thanks. Only problem now is i'm misjudging by braking points. Turn 2 it feels a lot more unstable, but it's much quicker 👍

I keep messing up the downhill section, and the final section. I'm just trying to guess that and losing a good 10mph then what I should

I nailed 1:17.xxx after couple laps and ranked top 9000 :) I'm happy with the result. I drove in manual mode with no driving aids. How much seconds can be improved by using "KERS"???

I drove my Lexus IS350 in Big Willow Springs couple times in real life so I actually love this track a lot. It seems like PD loves this track a lot too as I see it being repeated multiple times now lol.

The car in game drives much much nicer with so much more grip/traction available than my car which already has a set of high performance summer tires lol.

I thought that the car will be faster when I see the design, but overall not bad at all. I didn't drove it to much tho but as I can see under braking it tends to slide bit but it have some potential.

Agreed. It is such a boat compared to the other VGT cars. 1600 kg. The weight, I reckon, really changes it. It is a lot like the Lexus IS-F, but with better handling. It always feels like it is about to slide around out from under you, but it only does that if you really push it. Definitely the most realistic VGT. Too bad it cannot be painted.

My 2nd attempt back on it, no idea how I did it, was having to chat to the girlfriend as I was on that lap

I see the top 3 UK drivers are 15th, 16th and 17th. Well, lets get that extra few thousands ;)

I found out about KERS today! :dopey:......👍.

The trick must be, not to think too much! Your GF kept you driving on instinct! 👍

Go for it! .....I think you could push for a 1:12.***! 👍

Good luck!

Now i know i,m slow, but now i can be a little bit faster (little bit) i will have to try this KERS,well after i map a button for it,gee i feel like this :dunce:

What is KERS? I have to map a button for it? Or if it wxplains it in the game i will read it but i don't know where to look for it. I'm about .315 away from gold and I'm hopong it will help me get there.

@RacingLine do you mind if I add you tomorrow mate? i uploaded your ghost and I was beating you up until the downhill section, where i'm losing all my time. Then the wheel decides to brake by itself so I gave up.

I've never really done seasonals, but have usually done fairly well when I do try, but this is going well :D

Awsome. That should help me with the .315 i need.
If your on a wheel (I have a broken G27 lol) I use it as the top right button

Yeah sure no problem, the downhill section is the trickiest to nail perfectly if you ask me

I just have the ds3. But I'll probably keep it at r1. I can't play till the morning.

OK, this one was just fun.

First lap: bronze
Second lap: silver
Third lap: gold

I think it may have been a bit easier for me because I hammered the crap out of this track for another challenge (that kicked my a55). At least it helped me here!

You have no idea how frustrated I was getting with this event. You know how it starts you off heading into the last corner, right before the straight away and then once you cross the start/finish line your lap actually begins? Well, I must have spun out 20 times on that last corner, right before my lap could even begin!! OMG I was losing my mind. I know how important it is to carry speed through that corner so I'll begin my lap with decent velocity, so I couldn't just completely back off and I just kept sliding off the left edge of the track over and over... :banghead:

Finally, I would back off a little bit, or I would turn in good enough to stay on the tarmac and begin my lap only to lose it when I slid off the track on Turn 5, after coming down from Budweiser Balcony. This had to be at least 25 attempts and I never even completed a lap. :grumpy:

At last, I was able to keep all my wits about me and I completed one single lap, just good enough for gold with a 1:17 and I called it a day. I'll probably go back and try it again now that you guys are saying hitting the Nitro button actually boosts the car's speed. I honestly had no idea that did anything... Does this KERS system exist on any other cars? :) :D

Good luck to everyone!

Well, for starters, the Infiniti's sibling, the Nissan 2020, has the same system. The Toyota TS030 has a similar system, with the difference that the KERS acts on its own after you accelerate out of a corner (because braking charges the system up, and then discharges the energy when you accelerate again). But for now, I think only these three have this type of system. :)

Anyone else getting misfiring and hesitation revving out. TC is off ABS 1, no other aids are on. :banghead:

Messing the first corner up sounds like me at the Senna events. Lol!

Okay...I was going to say, after I made that post I entered the 10-Lap Survival Race with the Toyota TS030 again, this time to try hitting the Nitro button on my steering wheel. When I pressed the button I could not detect ANY difference in the power at all. Thank you for the explanation... 👍

Had a quick blast using the KERS, didn't beat my 1:17.3xx but I did notice the slight boost. A few more laps with KERS needed to adjust then I'm sure I can beat my time.

I don't know if that kers makes any difference at all...
If you watch the rev meter you'll see a slight increase when pressing your nitro button, and a definite but again slight decrease when you let go.

It only gives you a slight advantage in speed, but then you'll have to brake more.. so all in all it may not take away much from your times.

If only I'd known about the KERS thing before! Then I would have smashed my 1:14.1XX and would have just maybe been able to get into the 1:12's, if it really improves your times by 1.5 seconds!

I'll have another try tomorrow, as I would rather drive my exquisite Jaguar XJ13. I have a feeling that I may be able to shock a few aliens! :D:D:D

EDIT: My horrible network problems prevent my times from being registered, but I will see how fast I can go anyways, because it's the personal satisfaction and achievement that really matters.

So far, this has been the easiest of the batch of Christmas seasonals. Logged a gold time of 1:18.251 after about 20 laps (with some room for improvement). This car is very stable and offers loads of grip, despite its FR layout. Also, thanks to the other members' information regarding KERS - that will definitely improve lap times...
