Yep, it's a GR8 event,, once you figure out how to get thru the first chicane and up the hill to pass the second car on the right (ideally before he slips to the right and cuts off that slim space),, doing so puts you on a good line to pass the Alpine on his right and boogie around the quick right aligned to pass the 4th car well before the sweeping left. A good job on the brakes sets you up for a fast down hill charge, pass the 5th car on his right - careful,, the right side of the track will yank you off track into the grass - your toast then,, and streak to the finish. Yes it is a tough one and it took me at least 25 - 30 attempts, learning a little each time where the right line, brake / throttle points were, managing the throttle / brakes but once you get it,, its a blast!! I say GOOD ON YA PD for "FINALLY" getting some challenging seasonal's and TT's!!
5 thousandths away from gold after loads of trying... and that's with ASM and active steering, which I don't like to use but just couldn't tame the little excited beast without them.
I was hating this until I watched some leader replays. If you keep up enough speed through the chicane and up the hill, you'll be ready to pass the last car at the bridge or beginning of the downhill. Although I'm not quite there yet, I knocked off a second late last night while polishing off a bottle of wine. It's all about approaching the chicane.Wow. I struggled with this one. I can't tell you how many crashes I had just trying to get up the hill after passing the very first car - or I would rear-end the 2nd car. I finally started to pass car #2 on the left, which is dicey because you're on the grass a bit and risky a DQ. I ended up with a 49.571... Not great, I know. Oh, and I have to admit I ended up turning on AS for this event. I never do that. I'm always an ABS-1 guy, but I was pulling my hair out.
What a fantastic little event
I agree! Great fun!
I've been able to improve to 48.078 which had me in 215th place this morning.
Can I crack 48 seconds?????
I will try!
See you on the Mountain!

Why do you say that? Are you saying bricks and rumble strips are out of bounds in real life?I like the idea of the event, it just has the same problem that all other challenges have. Some of them you can get by with a proud racing line, most of them are a curb hopping contest. I wish the challenges were about staying on the road, not about how much you can get away with avoiding it. I'm sure the best times would be disqualified in real racing: the real driving simulator.
Yeah...I'm not exactly sure how I feel about pretty much HAVING to go over the curbing in the beginning. At least, I have not been able to find another way up that chicane incline, especially with the way the Lancia will just want to spin out if you really jerk the wheel and try to stay completely on the tarmac.Curb hopping contest is totally true here as you toss it up the hill. Interesting way to describe it, and fitting.
Less than a tenth to go... You should be able to find that

There is nothing wrong with the line that's being used by the top guys. Curbs are part of the track and as long as you have two tires on the track (curbs included) there is nothing wrong with maximizing the track surface to get the best time that you can. No one is out right cutting corners or otherwise cheating so I fail to see what the issue is. And yes, I know that in real life not all racing sanctioning bodies follow these boundaries but you have to remember, this is a game, not real life. Either quit complaining and adapt to the situation or simply don't participate.
Very true, besides if you go to hard on the curbs you will lose balance which will result in a loss of exit speed. So It's better to keep the balance by not attacking the curbs too much.
