Stuck at work, keen to try it when I get home. These challenges always make me think of a car key, you know, like what Cory said...

- pass green Lotus on the left
- pass black Lamborghini on the right

Since I'm not too fast with the supercars (and especially the Huayra!), I didn't give so much attention to this challenge... but anyway, I'm cool

Nicely done! I couldn't get a clean squeeze on the left of the Reventon through there so I went on the right side but you're catching up to the Ferrari much quicker with better exit speed from there, so I'll have to keep trying.

Anyone else experiencing a lot of freezing in this particular event? At least one in in five attempts to restart results in the whole game getting stuck and having to reboot PS3. So far I've had no problems with other new events.

I'm having the same problem^^^^^^^^

My game has locked up four times during my many attempts with this Overtake Challenge.

It seems to lock up just after I crash into one of the AI cars, or if I smack the walls and get the disqualification message.

Since disqualifications are a frequent occurrence for me, this is causing me a certain level of frustration.

So far my best time has been a 1:01.344, more is possible if I don't mess up my lap or if I can keep my PS3 running long enough to get in some more practice.

I liked the challenge, I mean the track and the car, but I'd rather just a normal time trial.

Why PD can't mix TT with this new style of overtake? Before we only had TTs and now only overtakes. Just my opinion

I golded it, later I'm gonna try to work on my time.

Im finding this event just hard, I can't manage to overtake some vehicals. First is the Esprit but overtaking the reventon is too hard, if you just touch any car your out. This would be soo much easier without slow cars blocking your way! It's almost impossible, I rage quitted after soo many attempts, why can't it be allowed for your vehical to touch another without being disqualified!

In my opinion the gold time is no challenge at all.
P1 of the leaderboard is over 4,5s faster than the gold time , so every player should be able to get gold.

Just think about some of the licence test in the older GT- games, those were challenging gold times and i hope we will get harder gold times again in the future.

HAhahah, yeah, the actual challenge is to survive that downhill section Damn this one was hard, took me around 35km to get over the finish line, but just surviving trough the lap was easily good for gold. DQ level is set to "not even a scratch" witch causes lot of restarts, but rather fun compo otherwise.

The hardest part is to overtake the Reventon on the inside of the slow left turn.

You can touch it if you are already beside the other car on corner entry.

But if you are to slow and your front is hitting the Lambo somewhere between the door and the rear end you'll get a DQ.

Yeah, the key on these overtake challenges seems to be having enough speed trough first few corners to make the rest of the set bit easier, nailing that first turn on this compo is just insanely hard. I think yesterday I was only once fast enough to take the inside line for that second turn but managed to hit the wall on my left.

But yeah, those who are only looking to gold this event I think the outside line for the lambo is easier, just needs to slow down quite much to not to rear end that lambo or slide too wide...

Haha..it took me a lot of attempts to find out it's possible to pass the green car at the left side right at the beginning, overtake the Lamborghini and tail the yellow car on the long straight. Got even gold without overtaken the forth red car.

Finally got to do this one without my PS3 freezing up, 59.669 for 11th place as of now.

My god I hated this challenge! Worst handling car for me is that pig of a Huayra, so let's just help it out with rubbish tyres! Least favourite circuit - Bathurst. At least you can overtake in the first section and then bide your time through the downhill - NOPE!

The first time I made it to the finish line without touching a barrier or hitting a car, I was 3 tenths away from gold. 🤬🤬🤬

About 20 minutes later, and on my last run before the controller was about to disassembled using a wall, I found half a second. I will be telling my kids about that one! Sweet relief!

Ugh. This one. I love the track, but I don't race on it very often, and I love the car, but its handling is absolutely appalling.

I'm sure it took me about 30 tries to even get to the bottom of the hill, and when I was in front of my friends racing lines (their fastest time was a 1:02.9) I didn't brake enough and went sliding off of the course.

At the end of that day, my time was a 1:04.7xx. Not good.

The next day, I tried again, and in a matter of about 10 tries, I was crossing the line with a 1:02.6xx. I have no idea how I did it.

I got myself a Carbon Huayra at the end of it. I was thinking of selling it, but I guess I can use it to commemorate my success.

And by the way... Awesome bit of driving, super clean & tidy. No one bad move. again a nice bit of Awesome driving.

I had to put more mileage on this car to get Gold than all the others combined. There was so very little "feel" being transmitted to my wheel. It took several attempts of just following the cars just to get seat time before I even botherred trying to be fast. It felt like the car was floating more than driving.

Good challenge though. Loved getting the free car loaded with all the extras.

The key on this are the first two corners. You have to nail them perfect to pass the Reventon on the inside otherwise you´ll lose a lot of time.
Try to drive the first corner like on a TT-Event, don´t look at the Lotus and focus on the apex.
Take the left-hander before the straight close to the inside wall to be early on throttle again.
The rest is just car control and bringing the car to the finish line.

Just want to confirm exiting instead of restarting seems to be the fix for avoiding freezing. It eats up a couple extra seconds but it is what it is.

Managed to gold this after probably 30 tries. When I noticed that I could still get within gold time without needed to pull off the crazy overtakes necessary to post a competitive time, I calmed down some in my attack and managed a 1:03.483 (or something close to that....can't be bothered to double check right now).

Fell in love with the pretty curves of the Huayra all over again when I picked the bare carbon body color. Looks 🤬 fantastic! Also I'm surprised how much extra power you can jam in to the car and still manage to have a relatively solid drive. Expected it to just constantly spin the wheels and oversteer in to oblivion at over 1000hp but it kept its head.

If you want to get the full frustration effect try this without ABS (or anything else for that matter). The real mess-up PD have made with this is that the car comes as standard with racing brakes, which snatch really badly on anything other than racing tyres. Plus, I can't even back them off because I don't have access to a suitable menu (I think I don't anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong).

So, there you go, a challenge from a chap who'll never get near the top 1000. Do it with NO assists. (Sits back and waits for mayhem.)

Cheers, Zo. I'd like to add, I do realise that I'd be nowhere near most chaps on this forum, even with all the assists in the world, but the challenge is there anyway, in case any of you fancy it.
