Got back on it like a car bonnet after a visit to A&E 2 weeks ago...got a silver first go with the wheel ...needed to find mere hundredths of a second - I'll have another sesh tomorrow

Just got back into the GT series after not playing any racing games at all for over 2 years. Traveling, and couldn't take my wheel. I hate playing racing games without a wheel.

Anyways, been at this for about 3 hours total over the past few days. In the low 1:15's. While the car handles well on the edge, getting past that is tricky. I have never been a fan of FF cars so trying to make it work goes against what is natural for me since I'm so used to RWD. This has been a good learning experience though.

Any tips for driving FF cars at the limit? What I'm having trouble with is the tires getting too hot on corner entry, then by the time I'm at mid corner, the outside front tire is already cooked and sliding. So basically that outside tire is being stressed from entry to exit not only from braking and just maneuvering the corner, but from accelerating out also. I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around balancing that out.

Use 4th gear at the exit of corner. You see the difference

Oh nice, makes sense. I've been trying to feather it, even though I'm using lvl1 traction control, so it's not cutting power so much. Can't believe I didn't think about starting in a higher gear. I think because my instinct with driving RWD cars, feathering the throttle can help rotate the car at good times. With FWD, that's not the case unless letting off the throttle.

Thanks.

What happened to the leader board? Absolutely useless if it is removed as soon as the event closes. :banghead:

I always record my time and rank after an event is finished, but apparently not this one.
To bad there is no leader board as before with GT5 and the great site of Milouse.

Yes, it is a bit annoying that they are removed upon closure with no other way of viewing the final results thereafter. :indiff:

I like to get snapshots of my position on the LB's too, but with this one and also the Aston & Nissan VGT's I was unable to do so. :grumpy:
