Looking at the official Shift website track list Silverstone only has 1 configuration.

It actually has all 4 on the website.

Mind you, it's a shame, if they are going to do GT1/3, that they couldn't model the new Silverstone. Oh, and the new Bus Stop at Spa, while they are at it!
I'm afraid I doubt it. Shift 1's Silverstone was also called Silverstone GP. And, not only has the track layout changed dramatically, but whole new buildings, stands, a BUNCH of stuff is very different with the new layout. I am sure that EA/SMS would trumpet this loudly if they had done so.

Where did you get that info?
HOCKENHEIM, we know its the new layout - its been on their site for quite some time now but MONZA I thought it was the oval layout & SILVERSTONE the old one
I notice there is the Grand Prix and GP. Is one the old layout and one the new layout.Update:
New track layouts confirmed for HOCKENHEIM, MONZA & SILVERSTONE.
Yeah hopefully we will get Ferrari DLC again! All my favourite tracks are there. Spa, Donington, Bathurst, Brands Hatch, Nordschleife etc.. And a no nonsense selection of cars. Now, if only there will be some Ferrari DLC I can't think of much else to ask for
Preordered!

Well Spa has been updated with the newer bus stop chicane, so can't see why Silverstone couldn't be updated too![]()
Why should a wish for Ferraris in a racing game be taken as a wish for road cars...And REAL GT1/3 race cars. I'll take those over Ferrari any day.
Why should a wish for Ferraris in a racing game be taken as a wish for road carsWe Ferraristi are of course thinking about GT1/2/3 race cars - this is a GT racing game after all, and Ferraris are an important part of that. Even if there are no Ferraris in the current GT1 class, there are 430's in the GT2/3 classes and I expect 458's will appear too. The realism aspect of it depends on which series and seasons are in the game, of course, but Ferrari race cars can only be good in any case. Forza Ferrari!

The Ferraris would likely be treated in the same way as the other cars, they start as road cars and their ultimate upgrade version is the GT1/GT3 class version.
I think the licensing issues remain (AFAIK). Expect Ferrari on XBox alone.
But we have Porsche (real Porsche, not RUF's), Gumpert, and a bunch of others that GT5 does not have. And REAL GT1/3 race cars. I'll take those over Ferrari any day.
Same goes for GT3. The BMW Z4 GT3 also has a V8 whereas the roadgoing Z4 has a straight 6.I didn't think that was how it worked? Judging from the car list it looks like they have GT1/GT3 cars listed completely separately. Especially when the GT1 cars are so different from their road going counter-parts (take the GT-R for example, it's got a V8 in GT1). I believed that the 'works' cars was for every other car aside from the GT1/GT3 cars.
On the old game they had the dedicated racing cars (DBR9, 911 GT3 RSR, Audi R8 LMS and the M3 GT2) listed as separate cars too. You just couldn't use them in career for some bizzare reason.
That has crossed my mind. And I should be able to get a few $ for the MS and G25 combined, so maybe I should really think carefully about that option.or just find a second hand 911 turbo S, which is hard enough I know.
