Or Porto vs Benfica ;) Actually I should say Porto vs. Braga. Should be a fun final.

Yeah it should.;)
Specially if FCP WINS...:dopey:

Rivalries are fine specially in Sports but about video games or consoles?
It's not an exclusive "relationship" why can't people enjoy both(like in the blonde\brunette example?:P;))?💡

After spending hours with Shift-2 and the new patch on my XBox 360.., I took a break.., and then spent hours with Shift-2 and the new patch on my PS-3.

I posted earlier in this topic regarding my very favorable opinion of the XBox patch. After spending several hours playing the PS-3 I can report that I am very pleased with the patch for it.

There is without question a very notable difference in the steering with the latest patch on the PS-3. The vehicles are more responsive, and the lag has been reduced (not completely taken away.., but reduced enough to make game play very enjoyable).

If you really want to test out the new patch on the PS-3 (or the XBox) take a spin in the events that provide loaner vehicles. If you've already completed many of them..., I suggest doing them again. You'll certainly notice a difference in how they handle.

What I don't like however (and this applies to both consoles).., is that they didn't really do anything to the AI. The AI is still boneheaded, ram into you with no regard, and perform at unwordly levels on the track.

There is still the problem with vehicles literally going off track and passing you without any loss of speed/power when going in grass/dirt/gravel. The AI vehicles also continue to take corners at unrealistic speeds. If you really want to get a good picture of this.., do some of the Single Type races. It's like all the AI cars are running on slicks.., while you have lowly standard street tires.

The crash physics on both consoles have gotten better too. I didn't notice any magnetic crashes at all. Throughout all the bumping and ramming from the AI.., my vehicle didn't get stuck once on either console with the latest patch.

**Ohhhh one thing certainly needs to be mentioned. With the latest patch (on both consoles) it is much more obvious that the vehicles still respond as if they're pivoting on a center axis point. It's not so bad that it's unbearable.., but IMO it's more noticeable post patch.**

I actually haven't been able to play S2U in the past week and a half due to a trip out of state and now back to work. Decided to take out the DFGT and load the game on PS3 and all i have to say is WOW! Even at default settings, steering control and ffb feels SO much better and you don't really get that "floaty" or so effect from the car. Now there's no fighting the wheel on the straight and the loss of grip/ffb feels so much better. The only thing that's still upsetting me is that us PS3 players can't get our hands on the legends DLC yet. This is what the game should've been on release day!

No.

Simply because thats like saying why does it have to be Evo Vs. Sti, or Red Sox Vs. Yankees, or Ford Vs. GM, or Turbo vs. V8, or Boxers vs. Breifs, or Canadians Vs. Bruins, or Blonde vs. Brunett...

Here In the United States atleast...rivalries are the building blocks for all good things.

Yeah we have rivals all over the place here in the states.

i work at a grocery store an i know all to well about rivals. There is a another grocery store just 3 minutes down the road from the one i work at and we are always at each others throats for who can have the best deals. They even send me there to check on their prices from time to time.Crazy.

How much is your Beef Jerky compared to the other shops?

Jack Links just went up to $5.28.Wisconsin brand is $3.98.Matador(Frito Lay Brand) is $4.99.

That's pretty bad when i can name that right off the top of my head

Steering is perfect post-patch, much easier to dial in settings. Unfortunately, my PS3 did freeze a quarter lap into Green Hell with my Works F1 in 6th gear so that might still be an issue.

Update: High speed freeze on PS3 is definitely not fixed with 1.02. Can't even get through a half a lap at Nords in anything faster than a GT1 class car.

Well that stinks.I was hoping i could run my Works Lambo on the Ring.I guess they wanted to get the Steering right first, which is ok by me because i am loving this game right now.

The handling is flawless so I'm happy about that, but i was really looking forward to breaking the 6 minute barrier with my McClaren. C'mon EA, lets get on it, I got records to break.

👍
Can't wait to get my hands on it...:ouch:

BTW Heard the news?

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/05/07/service-restoration-update/

I haven't even seen Autolog working with friends times(is it per best lap or total event time?),yet.:nervous:
Not to mention the DLC-it was the trailer of Legends Pack that finally made me buy the game.:ill:

Yeah i just read that :(.As long as they get it running strong as ever i can wait.

I've been really wanting to get back to the Autolog as it's a great feature. For the Autolog it records single lap times(fastest time in fastest car) and in career mode it records the total time of race(only on the cars that are allowed for event).

Yep you are totally right, just drove 6 or 7 loaners and beat my times by around 2 seconds, my last race with the GT-R old v new i smashed my time by over 3 seconds!

I'm not totally sold yet on the patch. The lotus is still a pita. As soon as I downloaded the patch I jumped into the lotus invitational and was severely let down. My Sti seems to handle better in free race...shaved 5 seconds off my best time, but then I tried to re-race on Miami in the Cspec races and was once again severely let down. Maybe I'm doing it to myself, but it seems steering is almost hit or miss. I'm using a GT3RS V2 on PS3 btw...

Edit: crash magnetism is totally still present. I'm all for deterring bumper cars but im being sucked off track like crazy for little budges. The game feels better I think, but it's still very frustrating. I did turn abs off for the first time in the game and that alone made a HUGE improvement. Abs kicks in soooooooo early and really ruins braking distance, and with my CSP I'm surprisingly (don't seem to be able to in other games) able to lock the wheels at will.

Thanks now I know what to aim for.:)
Gonna get that Carrera GT Works some use tomorrow...:sly:

Ok, tested several different Works cars on different high-speed tracks and couldn't get it to freeze except on Nords. Even my RS-V GT1 froze at Nords so this leads me to believe that it's a track problem not a car problem. Haven't tried Enna Pergusa yet but I know that track was giving T and the boys problems during round two of the WTC with the 918 works Porche. As soon as they switched to Road America it ceased to be an issue.

Cars tested: McClaren F1 works
Gumpert Apollo works
Porche 918 Concept works

Tracks tested: Bathurst
Spa
Road America
Monza

After downloading the patch my dfgt wheel feels much better, and can now change the degrees of lock with no negative effects on ffb.

One thing I did notice that was a little strange was that while watching the replay, it shows the front tires to be either fully deflected in one direction or the other, no matter how much wheel input was being exhibited. Especially noticeable with the caterham and the radical.

BTW, Why does it always have to be S2U vs GT5 or FORZA or any thing else...?!:grumpy:
Can't people enjoy one game without bashing the other?!:indiff:
On top of all in a GT Game Forum?!

No need to bash anything unless the item they are representing is inferior. :)

The patch is awesome. Raudi I did the reset to default to make sure the patch took effect and didn't have issues with ffb dropping out after that. I absolutely love this game now more so than GT5 or Forza 3. I can't wait for the rest of the DLC as we will have drag racing and the game will truly be a completed work.

Absolutely. And it also proves you don't need over 1000 cars to be the best racing game. Just make sure that the cars you do offer are actually what people like to drive. I think the car selection is spot-on and very well balanced. Can't wait for the patch (and the DLC) to be available over here.

+1
Now that that wheel issues are resolved this game jumped from a 8 to a 9.5 for me. Way more responsive and cars that are prone to oversteer in real life actually do so, unlike some games.:sly:

Anyone got the patch on PS3 in Australia? It isn't available for me to download.

Yeah I haven't got it either in Australia, but someone else said they had, can't remember who though

The AI is still boneheaded, ram into you with no regard, and perform at unwordly levels on the track.

SqueakD, I am surprised to see you gave some positive feed back in regards to S2U. But I have to disagree with the AI. only time they bump is if you bump them first or you get in their racing line. The AI is very competitive, and I like it.

I put in about an hour with the new patch installed. I must say now we the handling improvements the game now gets a 9.0-9.5 rating from me. I think on release day it was a challenge to man handle your car and I gave it a solid B+.Now its very smooth when it comes to steering. Expect to see all those previous haters that gave up on on the game prior to this v1.02 patch, return. Either rent, repurchase or play at a friends. But they will play again and see how it really measures up to the other titles. S2U all the way when it comes to racing, track selection and car selection

Still no luck from Australia, guess it will be available next Monday:ouch:

Input lag significantly reduced on PC version but there is still losing ffb issue, I'd love to play it on PS3 if ffb issue is solved.
The game would be 9.5 if these problems are solved:

- The stupidity of AI, they never brake or try to avoid contact with you, this really pissed me off when I have to restart the race couple of times to overtake them at the start without being crashed.
- The glitch when you crash into wall or make contact with AI car despite at low or high speed, there is a 'super glue' that pretends you to get out, you have no choice but restart the race and facing the crashing bug again.
- It would be perfect if input lag could be reduced to about 100-200ms more.

Still not out in the UK either - bet it doesn't come until Monday now :ouch:

Really annoyed about that, didn't the first patch hit the Ps3 regions all at the same time?? Why is Sony America is the only Region to release the Ps3 patch , i dont know.
Shame on you Sony shame. 👎
