Should GT6 include cockpit view when 95% of players don't use it?

But it would still be a sim. I mean like i have said before. I race and drift on GT5 with a wheel. I like the cockpit view but when racing and drifting i couldn't get over seeing two steering wheels. So i use hood view seems to be a better simulation feel for me. Plus they need to get rid of the 200 degrees of rotation on the cockpit camera before i even really care. They could make a option to remove the steering wheel in the cockpit camera.

I don't own a wheel, so that's the closest I can get to have feel like a simulation, I agree though that it would be nice to have more view point options, like view angle, and whether or not you see the driver or wheel.

With that statistic in mind, the interior shouldnt be that much upgraded if at all from the premium interiors of gt5. If there will still be stabdards, give them the same level of interior as, say, the Caterham or the Prowler.

There should still be interior views becxause if that becomes absent then the game could quite possibly become inferior to Gt5 in some sort of way.

How?? GT5 was already inferior to the brand that GT was in fact it's about as bad as Devil May Cry 2(game that no one wants to remember).

I want interior views to continue in GT6 and what not, but GT5 had way more issues than most people gave it credit for.

What I find hilarious is the posters who claim if GT6 did away with the cockpit view there would be a mutiny, no one would play it, it wouldn't be a true sim etc.

So what was you opinion on GT5?

Polyphony left the cockpit view out of 80% of that game......

This so much 👍

Now the real question, how many people did they actually research? Because if its really only %5 of people who use it, than I've played online with everyone in that statistic, me personally, I think its codemasters lame excuse to get the game out quicker so they can make another Ken Block's Dirt.

Ahahahah 100% agree !
I thought the same lol, lazy codemaster...

Yeah, and I hardly use 80% of the content as a result and mainly focus on Premium content due to that.

What they should do is make GT6 available for PC and make it Eyefinity compatible. That would motivate everyone to use cockpit mode.

Yes, yes. Computer gamers are "Cool". We get it.

The cockpit view should be kept, and I think we ought to be able to change out instrument clusters. One or 2 options apart from the regular, and then a set of 3-4 standardized "Race" clusters.

I say that PD monitors GT5, and see how many people do races in 1st person, then give us the numbers, because I HIGHLY doubt that it will be just %5.

Why ask? Of course, defo keep cockpit view. I use it as my number 1 console sim. For a game that calls itself "the real racing simulator" I wouldn't have thought it would be an issue.

I just hope the cockpit view doesn't have pitch black shadows that make the gauges and details impossible to see. I also want to see consistently in the seat position (the Lamborghini Murcielago is so close to the steering wheel, and the Ferrari F40 and Infiniti G35 SEMA winner? is far away. Personally I like the further away view where you can see most of your arm.)

You guys are amazing, when I use the cockpit view i flat out stink! In fact the only time I use it is when I'm in replay mode. :-) don't get me wrong, I like it and I think it cool.

The cockpits in GT5 are absolutely beautiful. Only problem is that in some cars the camera is so low that you can't see much of the road. Also, in some cars the rear view mirror can't be seen unless you look to the side, that needs a fix too.

LOL That´s the idea...you need to look at your side man...as in real life. The bad thing is that it works bad with a button but it works better with the Eye Toy...but also that if you have 3 monitors/screens. With one screen the thing is that you need to move your head but your eyes must look in the same direction.

The button (to look at right or left) should work as it was in GT5 Prologue...not so instant look...it should be progressive so you can adjust the sight in a certain angle and not to look at full left to see the mirror in one fraction of a second.

That could be fixed but you´ll need to look at the side always.

It's strange they didn't include options for adjustable seating positions, I really do hope they include this in the next game. Strangely though, If you have a PS3 Eye you can change height positions depending on the movement of your head. However what I do is scan my face when I am sat low, then when I sit up I have a higher seating position in game. Shame this only works in Arcade mode though because it helps me quite a bit.

I'd like them to keep it. I don't use it for racing but when I'm just putzing around a track I like to use it. It's fun and that's the whole point of video games.

Yeh, I know many ppl play with Cockpit view for realism, but when they are doing time trail or hot laping, they find bonnet view is faster for them.

but I would say YES, cockpit view is a must!

Personally I've gotten so used to cockpit view in driving games now, that I have trouble without it. I don't seem to be able to place the car correctly on track when using other views. So yes, it should stay.

I am exactly the same. I only ever use cockpit view when racing and if it were removed I would be hugely annoyed. It will not be removed from GT however so we are safe. Codemasters have been losing it for a while now and everything from it seems to be becoming an arcade game. I miss the Codemasters which brought us ToCA Race Driver 3...

It's honestly the best view for any driving game. I use it non-stop. Only every once in a while will I use 3rd person. I love to drive realistically on GT, so that's why cockpit view is the only view I drive in.

I kinda of like them, but I'm going to say no, they aren't exactly whiped up in a flash, so I say devote more time to getting the outsides of the cars looking good instead, I don't need them, they would be nice, an if the development cycle is going to take another stupid amount of time, they will have the time to do them, but I think they shouldn't.

I ONLY play gt with a wheel exclusively in cockpit view so for me...yes they should include cockpit view. As to whether the effort, time and money put in to create them vs the effect on maintaining/increasing sales is worth it to them as a company... that's up to them.

i always use cockpit view when racing or just practicing , to think that PD would actually have a GT game without cockpit view is just plain stupid. Plus it wouldnt be called a racing sim anymore

You CAN'T blame PD for that.

I don't normally defend PD, but I agree with this. It's not PD's fault that there's a bar right in front of your face in the real car. You're going to have to complain about Honda for this one. :P
