Should GT6 include cockpit view when 95% of players don't use it?

Of course the cockpit view ain't going anywhere, however they need customizeable camera positions...so it can be slightly angled downward to see the top part of the dash as well as the hood.

Also one thing that really bugs me is the steering animation, I would LOVE the complete removal of wheel and arms so that those of us who have proper monitor positioning see only their own movement and a nice clear view of the dash.... wonder if some manufacturers would not allow this in the license agreements??

I see where your coming from but make it optional because i actually love the arms although i also have a perfect setup but i enjoy the arms with out it it just looks weird

I use it for cruising drifting and racing (not really but just for cruising) but yes they should have it and ALL cars need to be premium i mean not even a MKIV supra come on and an AE86 would be nice also

Now why on earth would you want that? If you like cockpit view that's great but why would you want to decide how other people play?

He was giving a hypothetical option only cockpit vs multiples views except cockpit.

Both options limit the other. All other views except a cockpit view would mean someone else deciding how I play too. Albeit I would have more choices of a 2nd prefered choice.

If it came down to having to make the decision I would go for cockpit only too. However adding all other view options bumper, hood, roof, chase etc is not a time consuming effort so this would never happen.

Adding cockpit view is the bottleneck.
I do admire PD's persistence to add internal rear views where they can and I prefer that. However I would sacrifice those too if it meant more forward facing cockpits could be completed.

Edited to add.

The 95% figure is baloney IMHO. It's a damage limitation by the grid guys.

I wouldn't be so sure.

If you took a poll on GTPlanet, sure, the numbers would probably be very different, but we represent a very small minority.

Most people that bought GT5 probably played it for less than six months while using chase cam, before moving on to Modern Battlefield Warfighter....

Yes! I hate chase cam as it is LOCKED to the car and makes it feel as if the track moves, rather than the car. The beautiful cock-pit views make up for it..so yes it should stay.

I swear by it. I use it all the time, but not for the standards. Any game thats has it, I'm in it. I get p.o.'d when NFS leaves it out of some of their newer titles!!!

So only the loyal fans suffer. Your probably right.

Of course it should. mAYbe 95% dont use it because it's not good enough. I drive with bumper cam but sometimes would like to drive w/ interior view... but IMO it isn't well done. The A pilars cut a lot of the vision... they should be a bit transparent because in REAL life we dont see it like blocks. We have 2 eyes so we can se beyond the pilars and not as GT5 provide us that view.

That and a bit more of detail in the whole cockpit, like funcional gauges, etc.

If we play an hour in cockpit view we get a headache because of the overall excess of shake.

I'd like an option to make the A-pillars transparent. A-pillars are easy to look around in reality, even while wearing a HANS, but in two dimensions they can block the apex a bit. Nit picking, I know.

Yep...and 6 months is far to generous

I love using it feels like I'm driving in real life. Use a wheel and cockpit view at either a 24hr race or medium race for a real challenge.

If they got rid of cockpit view to give us more premium cars then yeah am all for it as long as the hood cam is on the hood and not on the roof :)
