Should PD have let the modding slide? ... OP Updated.

Should PD allow this activity in GT5?

So a 1000+ car isn't absurd already? Come on.

I'm not saying it isn't absurd, just because it's scarce or unheard of doesn't mean it's always weird.

This doesn't replicate what we're talking about.

Still implemented in the game, although it works pretty poorly.

Top Secret makes a car with more than 1300 HP? Because anything at 1200 or less is what I consider realistic.

I can remember a few of their cars put out 1000+HP and I think they're pushing for their R35 to have a lot of HP, I can't comprehend how you get to the conclusion that your HP limit is realistic but whatever.

What I've been trying to say is that it isn't realistic because it's not very practical. It's what I meant from the start when I said it cost too much money and was out of reach of most.

That depends on your view of practical and what the owner of the car wants to do with their vehicle, whether use it on a track, drag strip etc.

I believe that if these cars could be kept out of PD ran events like the tt's and dt's(which they are now), and if there was a definitive filter to keep them out of open lobbies(we can do that more or less on our own)

People would still cry like colic babies, it's in their nature to complain about things they do not understand and also things they dislike even if it's no harm to them.

When a HyperCar company builds it, I'll call it realistic. Until then, it's just mental tuners who want a monstrous car.
Tell me this: what is the difference when a hypercar company builds a 1300HP car, compared to when a tuner builds a 1300HP car?

Practicality ≠ realism.

Why does practicality and being within the reach of the average person matter in the first place in a game where you can buy more Ferrari P4s than actually existed?

You know what's also out of the reach of most? Anything more expensive than the Mazda6.

Because a HyperCar hasn't been modified from its stock form to reach this, while a tuner has to perform tons of pointless mods and changes to reach this number.

Nothing except for the parts and tuning.

Practicality ≠ realism.

Exactly.

Because a HyperCar hasn't been modified from its stock form to reach this, while a tuner has to perform tons of pointless mods and changes to reach this number.

But they still get to the same point of 1300HP, and define pointless mods.

1300hp is very easily achieved if you know what to look for in an engine and how mod it to be made streetable. I read a while back about a V8 big block twin turbo C2 Vette that is street legal and make around 1400hp. Mind you this was in a Super Chevy Mag like 7 years ago.

What about the hypercars that get to their high power numbers with "tons of pointless mods and changes" from comparatively mundane powerplants?

How many hypercars use derivations of the Ford Modular or Small Block Chevy or some other similar "pedestrian" engine? The Saleen S7 (particular the Twin Turbo), all of the Koenigseggs up until the Agera, the CLK-GTR, the Pagani Zonda...

1000bhp Skyline GT-R <-- This too.

So the point is that it's possible... in either situation?

You all are taking this way too far, and it's not helping that many of you are posting without reading through this full conversation.

When he said 1300 HP, all I suggested was that its on the line for what many top cars make today.

I stated MANY TIMES that 1200 in my book is currently realistic right now.

This means that ALL these 1000 HP cars are completely realistic in my opinion!

You all have yet to show me a car which makes 1300 HP though, which is why I maintain that it is just past realistic.

If any of you know about a 1300 HP car, please show me!

There's a Nissan GT-R which is made by some tuning company that's (barely) street legal, producing 1500 HP.

I don't see how one car can qualify this all as realistic, but if it makes you happy then I'll say that we can reach 1500 HP.

Does that make you all happy? I just want to get some sleep, you all have blown this far out of proportions and next time I just won't say anything so as to keep you all happy and to keep the purely negative comments made by some away from me. (On that, I would like to thank Penguin, Exorcet, Toronado, and Stavingo for having an actual discussion about this with me rather than simply calling me wrong and stupid. I do appreciate it.)

YouTube is like the video version of google bro:

And another one just in case:

How about we go even further, maybe a little bit less practical because it was built for drag but:

It all depends on what country your in. In the U.S we can basically get as powerful as you want as long as you have a full exhaust (headers, muffler and some sort of tail pipe out the back, side or as Stacks.)

1700 hp TT Viper vs 2000hp TT Vette vs 1400hp GT-R vs 1300hp GT-R

Texas mile man.

1500 Hp monte carlo

1550 HP Lamborghini Gallardo Stage 4 UGR Twin Turbo

1450HP Hennessey Venom Viper

Bisimoto 1004whp 2012 Honda Civic

I know it's 300 hp short, but it is whp, so around 1300 flywheel hp, and it is a 2.4l.

Looking only from the video thumbnail I think the Lambo is the only street legal one there (But I could be wrong)

EDIT: Wow, incredibly awesome if they're all legal 👍

They may not pass smog in some states, but they are street legal machines.

Just making sure lol. I truly think 1300hp cars are wholly realistic. Granted they probably wouldn't get the best fuel economy and ultimately wouldn't do well on endurance races but would kill in short sprint(3-5 lap races). As with any jump in power they would take tuning and practice to drive effectively due to large amounts of wheel spin.

Wheel spin isn't always an issue. Not if you have proper suspension and tires. Piloto sport pilots for example, are a good choice. Also, if your 4wd, you won't spin much.

Wheelspin ? Fit Nitto street tires :), fuel problem ... bring extra gasoline jerry can

Even an AWD can have wheel spin on Acceleration. I wish I still had the video, but, an Eclipse GSX with roughly 400hp can spin all four tires from a standing start, granted it won't hold the spin nearly as long as a FR would but even with AWD Wheel Spin is an issue once you hit a certain HP. Not, to mention wheel spin doesn't necessarily require 2 or more wheels, even one tire slipping can be detrimental to handling and acceleration to the point of causing loss of control in a corner exit. Yes, with proper tuning a good balance is achievable but seriously how many people have succesfully made a car have Perfectly nuetral handling and no wheelspin without using AIDS. Not to disrespect the many tuners here but, no matter what you do there is always a tradeoff for any tweak you make./semi ranty speech. As for the fuel, Jerrycan or not you still gotta stop to refuel. :sly:

I just watched some video(Best Motring) of top speed runs by R35s at Fuji Speedway. Some of those had 1000hp or less. The one driven by Orido is street tuned. Don't know if its road legal.

Like I told you, proper suspension and tires. I can get wheel spin out of a stock focus :sly:
