I missed that crash by 2 minutes... :( plus the driver wasnt the owner neither was the guy who gave him the keys...

Anyways I really hope that PD include the same modding abilities in GT6 I miss my Integra...

Why is there hay there its a bit silly imo

It's better than slamming the wall going 60 MPH.... unfortunately for this driver, it's quite the opposite.

@ Lock  and what was it that you wanted to tell me on PM?

Ummm someone found a way around the patch to do power multiplier. I am going to do some testing tomorrow on a few things. And see if there is more to it.

But i wouldn't myself garentee it will fully work until I test it myself.

I keep seeing "correct" and "legit" used to defend certain hybrid approaches. In the context of the game, I really don't think people realize those words don't mean what they think they mean.

As far as the context of the game goes, probably not. But i could really care less about the context of the game.

The simple fact is the game it self got boring, one can only put up with wrong exhaust sounds, terrible wheel fitment, and limited tuning for so long. The whole point of building hybrids in some cases was to fix PD's screw ups.. But i know, i know, that's no excuse to make hybrids.. Get over it, modding video games (GT5 included) is here to stay.

This.

Also, talking about the context of the game as in, 'purpose' of Gran Turismo, hasn't it always been about being as close to reality as possible? PD has limited us in so many ways, and screwed up so many things they still didn't fix after more than 2 years, just two quick examples;

BMW M5 '08
Nissan Silvia S15 Spec R '02

Both these cars have incorrect wheel positions. The wheels sit too much inside the wheel arches. Now if you've got an obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to cars and this game like I do, if your main activity in GT5 is enjoying the cars in online lobbies for the sake of enjoying the cars, cruising around in them, enjoying their looks and sounds and such... Then all I could do was avoiding these two cars (they aren't the only by far, just as an example), or being unhappy while I drive them since there was something wrong all the time that I had to fix! But I couldn't. So I either was unhappy with the car's looks or missed them out, which is a shame since I like both. :ouch:

With hybrids, there was my fix! Simply went and put an M5 '05 chassis (ironically that version has a way better fit when you put it on the '08) and there was my awesome looking enjoyable M5!

And this goes on and extends to about 40-50 cars I've simply fixed through swaps. Sounds through engine swaps mainly, but also some more chassis swaps to get proper wheel positions.

Just because of this, leaving aside all the customization possibilities that finally gave the game a new exciting life, the fact that PD killed NONE of the modding with 2.12 BUT part swaps and power multiplying, this patch fix is pretty much the f:censored:ing worst they could do!

Not to start a huge debate, but you could..

This golf has the W12 from the Nardo in it.

I was talking about Forza?
Yeah, "owned", the maturity in this thread is bloody amazing.

The only real problem with modding was the DLC abuse. I agree with the move to protect the DLC, but all they had to do was flag the bodies, not the whole car. If you had a DLC body, then the game should have checked to see if that was installed instead of the full car.

All they really fixed was the visual discrepancies of modding, which was the most harmless part.

Just add some type of mitigating feature like full range suspension adjustment for the racing suspension.

.

True, but the only problem that I see with that is that if the body is flagged and removed (and for some strange reason the car still remains in your garage) you will have a car with no body and 4 wheels  . Unless you have the game restore the car's original body as a placeholder.

If there was a way to Identify hybrids and give a flag to announce it's level of performance i.e. HP/TQ/ PP and Weight as well as any grip or downforce modification, so that we can distinguish classes of hybrids with out comparing them to non hybrid cars. That way if a car breaks the pp system we can still Identify it as an over powered hybrid despite it breaking past the various barriers to restrict it allowing us to ask them to swap cars or Kick them if need be and not just make a hybride genocide destroying the ones that are cool as well as the childish 999km/h or MPH ,depending on your region, cars. If we could implement this I'd love to re acquire my 427 powered Miata to cruise in or act as a cop in police lobbies.

No, the car is flagged and you are asked to install it. It still appears in your garage. I cleared out my old data file, updated, and then had to reinstall all my DLC.

The only car that disappeared was the JP flag X1

The only hybrids that broke the system were so woefully out of whack that they were useless.

I dont understand why They have de X1 car in the game, it is unrealistic as a non hybrid to and it dosent exsist in real Life

So far putting dirt/snow tires on cars that normally can't have them has been unsuccessful

I have seen a video from after V2.12 where someone has made really high HP cars. But at the same time some aftermarket parts when you add them it affects the HP (like weight reduction/LSD).

I am going to play around to see if i can do any successful engine swaps. I am just focused on that right now. If i have any luck then I will move to drivetrain and so on.

I said unsuccessful

Just keep it as unsuccessful. Polyphony Digital wasn't too happy about the whole modding/hacking/altering/corrupting cars. People may think some are unrealistic and MUST find ways to make them to suit their tastes but you are only destroying GT5 again. It goes against TOS you can be banned for it. I don't understand why even this forum seemed to be ok with people talking about wanting to try and get around it again. If you actually think about it.. PD made GT5 pretty Fair. not 100% fair but good enough for everyone to know the weaknesses, faults, and other downsides/upsides of different cars in comparison. Throw away your hacked PS3.. With all due respect, SEN/PSN doesn't need anymore people with too much time on their hands, who use that wasted time on destroying our games. PD fixed the problem once. Please leave it at that..

I was talking about the tires being unsuccessful.

Destroying, corrupting, unrealistic, and realistic are all opinions.

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with putting different engines in different cars (though cross manufacturer engine swaps will never happen in a game)
Your opinion is that it corrupts cars. Well, not everyone shares that same opinion.

I will continue to try to figure out what they changed. Maybe I might be able to get the engine swaps working. I could care less about HP and grip multiplier. So i am not going to touch it.

I respect your opinion, but I have my own. Also even if I don't do it, just a matter of time before someone else does. Just like the jailbreak getting patched/cracked over and over again. Just a matter of time.

I believe that the next time they have to patch this, they might not be so lenient. If not oh well I guess.

Some of us see it as our game too. One that held so much promise, has some great high points, but has some glaring deficiencies.

Given all the time they took between GT5 and the (supposedly upcoming) GT6, I wonder if they're actually doing any game developing over there or is it just a studio of texture artists updating the content made in the 1990's. ;)

Indeed. I think the biggest oversight is that it's still just as easy to use the DLC paint for free, even with patch 2.12.

And the most game breaking hack of all - the 10,000+ hp cars are still possible.

And it's even easier to steal DLC cars now as well.

Honestly. In my case I have bought three to four of those paint packs. So me simply typing in a code in the editor doesn't really matter.

I am currently working on a list of them so I will have a list.
Though I will not give out the codes to anyone, because technically I would be helping them steal

For the millionth time, there is only one way to break the PP system with hybriding and that's with dramatically excess power and all PD needed to do to solve that one particular problem was allow simultaneous PP and HP/Weight limits in setting up lobbies. You don't need flags or special colours or lipstick on the windshields. One simple change to the lobby setup, something people have wanted for 2+ years anyway and problem solved.

I don't blame you. I (regretably) bought the paint pack 4 times back in 2011. I don't care what anyone says, I'm not spending money on it again if all I want is just ONE color. The way the paint pack is set up just screams money grab. I'm currently using the DLC paint to see what the "unpaintable" cars look like in different colors, for the sake of curiousity. I feel no shame for using the hex codes for the DLC paint.
