In the words of my french teacher: 'Patience is a virtue, find it if you can, rarely in a woman, never in a man' hes not to popular..
I want a quality game. I dont care they can take all the time they need to make it perfect!
A small team works on an annual update with new cars and tracks, the core of Yamauchi team works 4 years on the new GT6.
It's a racing simulator, we should be happy with more tracks and cars with the same game engine... just to keep the experience updated and less suffering waiting the new version. :-)
It wouldn't surprise me to see a longer time period between releases of Gran Turismo games now that DLC is a viable option. If they heavily support GT5 with DLC throughout the years following the release of the game, i don't think people will be in much of a rush for the next game in the franchise.
There is a lot of options they have with DLC, releasing concept packs (such as GT3Concept except as an add on to GT5, based around motor shows etc), tracks from around the globe, more licensed motor sports, the list goes on really. Proper support via the Store DLC channel can give the product a much longer shelf life, making the wait for the next game a lot easier.
Really the only reason to release a new title would be a major overhaul in physics/graphics that couldn't be done via an update. Hence why, if Sony/PD are planning of fully supporting GT5 via DLC, it wouldn't be too far fetched to see GT5 be the ONLY Full GT release that the PS3 gets.
Yes & NoGT is an automotive encyclopedia, not some sports game that needs to be updated every year.
