Ok ok, the picture is misleading.

I bought two tickets to grant myself and my father access to sit inside the baseball stadium for an 8.5 inning ballgame. 😁

TB
Why would you only pay for 94.4% of a baseball game? Cheapskate.

:P
Frankly, the home team was winning and didn't have a reason to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Perks? Hehe!

🤷‍♂️

Must be nice. Though the park is nice, you couldn't pay me to go to a Reds game this season...
I'm insulted.

Red birds... Cardinals. I'd pay you to come support them, but I don't think you need an incentive this season to support a team other than the Reds. 🙃

I can't stand the Cards, because they beat up on Cincy every season no matter how good/bad the Reds are each year. I will say that your park looks nice, though.

Since Racing Electronics isn’t providing rentals for Indianapolis this year, I wanted to buy my own scanner. Well RE is sold out of all their scanners on their website, so started looking on the second hand market. Found a pair of RE1000s with headsets on Facebook Marketplace at a pawn shop 1 1/2 hours north of me.

Are those for the commentary?

In the current climate, and since i now live in the city where it's set, i see Threads as much as a survival guide as it is bit of entertainment*. Bonus points as it was written by my ex-nextdoor neighbour.

*Everyone i grew up with who watched this as a kid had nightmares for weeks after initially seeing this! Bleak doesn't even come close.

Now my interest is piqued! I’d not heard of this show before now.

It's very much of its time, and the effects echo it's low budget and even though it's been decades since i last watched it i do remember it being pretty grim and bleak, so don't expect to come away from it feeling particularly upbeat.

I’ve always been a fan of dystopian misery and gloom. I can ignore dated visuals if the plot line is good enough.
Yes. Allows me to hear the radio broadcast of the race and listen in on driver/team communications during the race.
That’s really cool. I didn’t know such a system existed.

Huh. Bleaker than ''The Road''?
I've not seen The Road. I love Viggo Mortensen and i know it got great reviews, but after reading the synopsis i decided i didn't need the imagery lingering in my head. I would imagine that Threads is every bit as bleak as The Road, but its low budget in comparrison may take the edge off that a touch. But like i said, it's been a long, long time since i've watched it.

I'd say i hope you enjoy it, but, you know...

The Road is a brilliant film. If there’s a series that amplifies the same narrative I’m all in. Depressing as it may be, there’s a real charm to the genre if you’re into survivalism and whatnot.

In the same vein, The Book of Eli is worth a watch if you haven’t already. I must have seen it 8 times by now.
The visuals are fantastic and the soundtrack is spot on. Not to mention it’s a Denzel film. It’s almost like 300 with regards to visual, in that the story is what it is but the cinematography is second to none.
Potential spoilers for those who haven’t seen The Book of Eli so I’ll say no more. Watch it and see.

I've been using a Wahl clipper and it's lasted over 15 years. And I haven't even WD40-ed it. I've used that provided oil once in a while.

Other cheap clippers have rusted after a year or three.
You shouldn't WD-40 it. WD-40 is a cleaner, not a lubricant. When the WD-40 evaporates, there's no oil left. Light oil , like what came with it, or sewing machine oil, is perfect.
Which 4K movie would you say is a must see in 4K. The only thing I have since getting the PS5 is Godzilla and so far it's still got the plastic wrap on it, just haven't took the time to watch it. Afraid I might not want to watch anything else unless it's in 4K. Thought about Top Gun for the effects but might as well wait for the new Top Gun.

The live-action Lion King. Absolutely gorgeous! If you get the disc with features on it (which I think is the only 4K disc out there,) the how-they-made-it is absolutely fascinating. It was not rendered with a computer placed camera viewpoint, they worked a virtual camera (a device the cameraman carried around the room, located in the set by motion capture) in a virtual set, and captured what the "camera" saw through its "lens" so that held-held camera motions were captured, making it look like it was shot in the real world. The camera operator could see the virtual scene, with characters, while working in an empty room.

I agree and disagree. It definitely leaves a permanent residue, but the permanent residue isn't a good lubricant, it's more of a layer to prevent the kind of corrosion that you might have used the WD to get through in the first place. I wouldn't use it on clippers.
