After a few years of saving and waiting on deals and sales, I've finally capped off the major purchases to complete my desk. Just a few small things left like cable management, headset hangers, and I should probably find something to replace the books.
Finally found and bought a monitor arm capable of supporting the weight of the Odyssey G9(look how chunky the tilt spring is), though I had to use bolts at the rear and a few books at the front to stop the shelf from flexing too much with the arm fully extended.
And after getting the arm set up, I drove to Microcenter to get this surprisingly sturdy collapsable "sim rig" that sits just high enough to fit perfectly within the monitor arm's reach.
And finally, I've always wanted a high-end long-term office chair, and Herman Miller had a pretty substantial black Friday deal going, so after watching more chair review videos than any one person should, I cannibalized a chunk of my "non-essential" savings and recently received the Herman Miller Logitech Embody.
It's not as comfy as the old cushy chair when reclining, but it's some sort of magic when sitting up and working/gaming. The thing is somehow shockingly solid and perfectly compliant all at the same time, I genuinely miss this chair when I have to sit in the (still fairly comfortable) ones at work. Spent 6 hours in it a few days ago and when I stood up I swear my spine felt less stiff than when I sat down. Still not sure if I'd pay full price for it, but with 30% off I'm more than happy with it.
