Just bought some mountain climbing gear because the mountain climbing season has just begun! Got the shoes for 60 instead of 160 bucks because the shop was going out of business. Also bought quality walking sticks, water-proof trousers, a backpack water skin etc.

You aren't a true mountaineer unless you've climbed the Vaalserberg.
Fun fact -a couple of days ago, in a bout of utter randomness, I actually googled the highest place of Holland. Pretty amazing, I was actually expecting something at least in the 500m area but 322 is really not much. :D The average mole hill around here is taller. :P

Needed a new keyboard and mouse. Had an unfortunate coffee incident.

Logitech Orion Spark G910 Keyboard
Logitech Proteus Core G502 Mouse

The cool part, and unknown to me at the time of purchases, the keyboard came with a $50 Steam card, and the mouse came with a $40 Steam card. Purchased at Best Buy if anyone's interested. I think the offer is available for online purchases as well.

Picked up some more music.

All vinyl.

A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night - OST Mondo
Halloween II - OST Mondo
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers - OST Mondo
Joy Division - Closer
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Pictures in the vinyl thread.

I also bought a new sprinkler for the garden (Dog loves water and it's more for him), to keep the lady of my life happy I bought a new purse and small handbag from Radley of London and a new pair of sandals from Clarks.

All in all a very expensive shopping trip.

Holy crap, dude. Can't imagine the size of your vinyl collection as of now.

But I bet you've got at least 30 of them, if not more. :P

Because it's been a while since I really just picked something long to read, to call him interesting would be an understatement, and it's well reviewed.

Nice amount of stuff.

TB

Borderlands and Borderlands 2 plus DLC for, at least for now, $6.04.
They just added more to the bundle:

Borderlands DLC:
Claptrap's Robot Revolution

Borderlands 2 DLCs:
Headhunter 1: Bloody Harvest
Headhunter 2: Wattle Gobbler
Headhunter 3: Mercenary Day
Headhunter 4: Wedding Day Massacre

Having not played it u et, I have no idea what the Headhunters are, but content is content!

Oh get over it. It is lovely.
It's not sunny, at all. It's close to a storm at times. It's just extremely humid and not pleasant at all, especially stuck in a thick black shirt.

I've sat through 42 degrees for hours before with no problem. This is so, so much worse.

Yeah, but it never ceases to scare me how much stuff you need to hump when you're planning on safely surviving a 4-day trip in the mountains. Thats 65 lbs not counting the camera gear and clothing. With my body weight of 220lbs my legs have to carry almost 300 lbs / 136kg up to a place thats 12k ft above sea level, including climbing near vertical cliffs in thin air.

In other words up there I feel like a very fat man with a weak heart on sea level.

What about investing in central air or a window AC unit?
You don't "invest" in stuff like that in Europe. We don't get this kind of heat nearly enough to justify it. I know nobody who has anything more than a floor fan or desk fan.

I have a friend in Yorkshire that says the same thing every year. Just seems like if it is miserable at this time every year, it would be worth the investment. He will usually complain for about 2 months straight about how hot and miserable he is at this time every year. So I usually poke a little fun response. "Get central air or a window unit".

Not worth it. Two, maybe three weeks a year are hot enough to make an AC worthwhile so I'd rather make do with a fan. Plus, those ACs are not exactly common here - thus, pricey :indiff:

Until you get used to having one. Then it is difficult to go without one.
