I need my tv to be out of the way when I'm not playing to do, ugh, laundry. Found a mount for that. The added rumble from the spin cycle adds a nice twist to rally tracks. And yes, that's a Driving Force GT. Cronus Max is working like a charm and saved me a bunch of money.

The light at the back of my TV is color selectable.:cheers:Inspired by Razer Chroma.

The pedal and System are below the table. And yes, I put my unused Recaro seat on the floor, which I cant show you now since it's been taken away for a moment.

@Dylan how do you have your shifter attached to the challenge, outta curiosity, im looking to get one and was wondering

(Not my picture but how mine is setup.) Basically, you attach the clamp to the black metal ring that the strap attaches to, and a tie strap holding the metal screwy part of the clamp up against the metal frame. The idea being that when you sit in the chair, your weight puts tension on the strap and metal ring holding it in place. Shifter wiggles a little bit, but nothing that hinders shifting. Make sure you wrap the part of the frame that will inevitably rub up against the clamp with electrical tape to prevent scratching.

I am looking to get a seat (and wheel), for those who have the playseat challenge do you enjoy it or would you if you were buying again get the r/evolution?

Also, is the Fanatec that much better that the 920??

I can’t talk about the seat, I build myself my wheel stand but for the wheel I have the Fanatec CSL Elite with the Loadcell Brake kit ant the Formula Black Rim and I’m loving it! Has a lot of settings to adjust the wheel to your driving preferences, very strong force feedback and feels very solid. And that’s in compatibility mode, when we get the full support I hope to become even better.

The other option is to use a RAM mount for a motorbike sat nav, which is the route I went down.

With a bit of creativity its possible to mount quite a bit on a Challenge and still get it to fold away, I've got the shifter, a Reckhorm tactile shaker, a BBJ button box and phone holder all mounted on mine, alongside a gooseneck phone holder for my DS4. Still folds up just fine.

Here we go, this is the RAM kit I used to mount the shifter.

I did need to drill out the holes on the flat plate of the mount to make them a little wider for the shifter to mount on it, however the end result is very adjustable and rock solid.

Here's the photos of how it mounted.

All taken when the rig was folded.

Video of it is rendering right now, so should be ready in around an hour or so.

I have the th8a shifter on playseat challenge. With a little simple engineering (and drilling a couple holes) and £8 worth of bits, it's solid and also folds up fine.

I just used a u-bolt around the frame and 90 degree bracket. I put a little rubber sheet on too for scratches etc.

Sweet, thanks, mulling over the investment and it is over twice the price of the Logitec...

How did you go about attaching a Butt Kicker to the Challenge?

I use a Reckhorn system rather than Buttkicker, and mounted it using some keyclamps and a length or steel tube.

I've gone tactile!

Ordered a Reckhorn 2.1 amp and BS200 bass shaker kit, and have it set up on the rig. It's not in its final place as I'm waiting on delivery of two key clamps to make a better mount, however I had to have a go (updated with pictures of the keyclamp mounts).

Quite frankly it's amazing, worth every penny as it takes immersion to a whole new level.

The cost/portability/comfort of the Challenge make it a great option for anyone - I'm not surprised so many people go with it. Don't remember the weight limit, but I imagine the r/evolution can hold a heavier person, if that matters. I'll be getting the TH8 at some point so it's nice to know there are many options for mounting it in a natural position.

Can't imagine it needing replacement for a long time, but if I were ever in the market again, I'd search for something very similar to the Challenge.

@marcvic said it well.
If you have the room to set up a permanent rig, then maybe the revolution makes sense, but, with that pole in the way I can imagine it makes heel/toe action interesting. If heel toe is not important, then that is moot, if heel toe is important maybe something like the Conquer Racing Simulator Cockpit becomes attractive?
Me, I play in the living room, and need to pack my little toys up when done, so, Playseat Challenge has been perfect for my needs... stick it in the closet and close the door... and none of my "grown-up" friends realize how childish I am. :).

Clamped a bar between the back legs? Nice. You have my brain in action now. I just picked up Dirt Rally pretty much only for VR. This level of immersion seems simple yet highly effective. I see some standalone sub amps and transducers on Amazon for <$25/e and I wonder if they're just useless. I have pretty good knowledge set when it comes to speakers/receivers/etc but never played with transducers. I don't usually cheap out on electronics but this seems like something that doesn't need to be high high end to be effective. Thoughts?

The key to getting the most out of a transducer is being able to feed it with low enough frequencies.

Most standalone amps are simply not able to deal with the real low-end which you want.

I feed mine via the LFE sub-out on my receiver, its split to provide a signal to the sub and amp for the tactile. The tactile amp is then able to send anything from 5Hz to 300 hZ to the shaker (I run the highcut at around 150hZ as anything about that can be a bit to 'fizzy' in terms of vibrations). So if you can get something that can feed a shaker in that kind of range you are good to go, with regard to the shaker itself, you want something with a bit of mass, as that is whats going to be getting your rig moving and you want a good thump in the back when you land you car after a jump!

Well here is my hybrid monster, it's a really old playseat, the alcantara seat side bolsters are showing it's 100k+ mileage
I found the frame was too wobbly so I built some MDF around it, put it on wheels and also flipped my pedals. Being off the ground also helps the butt kicker vibrate the whole thing.

Here's my racing setup for now! Got a G29 with the shifter and my good old Playseat Evolution that I bought in 2007. I'm currently playing on a 65 inches Sony XBR 850D. I'm gonna upgrade soon on a T300RS. I also like the fact that I can play and look at my summer toy in the garage at the same moment ahah. I made a showroom with the garage attached to the house last summer, with shiny black epoxy floor and all.

Genesis Coupe? Why only take it out during summer?

Yes. First of all I live in eastern Canada, so we got a lot of snow here in the winter. We still got a lot of it even now at the end of march. The car is on coilovers right now and I'm way too low for that. Second, I can afford two other cars so this one can rest in the winter. This way, the Genesis paint can stay perfect.

Hah! I would've put that together if I clicked on your thumbnail :P

Sweet setup btw!

How is that working for you? Any problems?

My cousin offered me his old driving force gt cause he doesn’t use it anymore and I honestly don’t feel like forking over much money to buy a new wheel.

Any input from other people using that adapter is welcome
