Both of you guys are clearly trying to make up excuses to make yourselves feel better for not having something. (Seems like it anyways.)

"We're going to the Mediterranean for a nice summer holiday. It's only five dollars, and it comes with a 5 star hotel, a bunch of pretty dancing ladies, a free Ferrari, and private jet. But sadly, we don't have room for you to come."

"It's alright, I don't like the Mediterranean anyways, too far away from home."

I've mentioned this before, but not many people are on board with it: Kaz does NOT feel that he is in competition with Forza...at ANY capacity. Gran Turismo is Kaz's "vision" as he has stated in the past. His vision, as we are experiencing, does not involve keeping pace with the content, scope, or appeal of other games in the racing genre. Gran Turismo is what Kaz wants it to be regardless of the community's plea for it to "match" Forza. So, with regards to DLC stuff (tracks/cars/features), we may have hope in what E3 has in store. I don't know...we can only wait and see.

And do you know this for a fact? Are you a shrink or do you just think you know what everyone is thinking. You really need to think twice before psycho analizing people.

If you're bored of GT5, you're bored of racing. I could spend from now till whenever GT6 comes out, just trying to do better lap times around Nordscheife in different types of cars, and there's so many different types of car in the game, it's amazing.

Add to the fact that GT5 has some great people out there in the online community, and this is a game you can never get bored of. Sure it may have it faults, good luck finding a game that doesn't.

Simple :

Forza 4 has DLC each month

Gran Turismo 5 has GT Academy :sly:

Winning !

If you bothered to read Thee's post more closely, you can see that he acknowledges the large amount of people who want Porsche in the game. Then he goes ahead and says why it shouldn't matter. It's as if he's trying to convince us why we shouldn't want Porsche in the game.

Yes, you're the one and only person who doesn't have an interest in Porsche, all the other 7 billion people inhabiting this planet absolutely love this brand without question.
In fact, there are even reports apparantly of UFO sightings where witnesses claimed they heard a distinct flat-6 burble and claimed they spotted Porsche decals on either side, making you the single living creature in the known universe who doesn't have an interest in Porsche.

you realize PD is about 450-500 unique premium cars behind right

Just because I really want to say this, PD also doesn't use multiple out-sourced companies to make their "unique premium" models.

However it's becoming tiring to read that this forum has become a Forza vs GT comparefest. Almost every topic I have read, it's there. It's unwelcoming as a GT site, in my honest opinion.

And that is all well and good but if he expects to remain competitive in the racing gaming market, he's gonna have to change his way of thinking otherwise he will be left behind.

@ atiger: Your first statement is very untrue. Ever heard of variety? I am far from being bored with racing but GT5 is just losing its flair with me due to the lack of variety.

What if I'm bored of GT5 but not bored of rFactor. Am I still bored of racing?

I like racing. I like sim racing. I don't like it when the online physics are slightly less realistic than the offline physics.
Sure it may have it faults, good luck finding a game that doesn't.
True that all games have faults, but what about a game that has this many faults? And coming from a big developer name too.

You're right. We have strayed completely off topic here. Sorry for my part in that. Ending my part of the discussion here. Peace.

Gosh. Thanks. I can sleep well tonight. :sly:

What utter nonsense. The reverse is more likely to be correct, in that you seem to place "value" to having something that I do not...? I have never liked Porsches (nor Aston Martins) in real life or in games. No excuses required. Just a fact. I cannot "make myself feel better" for not having something which I have no interest in and therefore no desire to have.

What I don't understand is your seemingly mockery of all those who want Porsche in the game. You telling them that "life goes on" is like saying that they have no life to begin with. And the fact that you feign sadness with that First World Problems meme.

The more you post, the more I think you're just out looking for an argument and trying to get under people's skin.. Seriously.

I don't know... maybe we have different interpretations of what he's saying?

Incorrect.

My meme reply was in response to the complaint of "no DLC", (hence the use of the big letters saying "No new DLC for GT5") not to the request for Porsches. I find the "bragging rights" of having them in Forza to be about as tedious as the complaints of not having them in GT. Having a car in a game is certainly no dealbreaker for me.

Saying "Life goes on" simply means that it's no crisis, no drama, no real major disaster... put it into perspective and realise that just because there's no DLC recently for GT but there is for other titles, it's NOT the end of the world. :)

GT Academy's free :) ^^^

It used to be that Ferrari and Porsche were too expensive (edit - and then, it was that EA had an exclusive license for Porsche). Ferrari we ended up getting, but there are big enough problems/rules that came with that.

I just found this out: "The licensing goes up alot with damage added, at least thats what an email from Forza's Turn 10..."

And something else that should be noted about certain rules that manufacturers have is the extent of damage that their products are allowed to take. The elite cars or exotics in GT5 have just about as weak of damage as the Standard cars.

No. Kaz isn't either.

Are there any car makers that won’t be appearing in GT5 that you’d like to see in GT6?

"GT5 will have a few historic models in it, but looking back at automotive history there are a lot of cars that would be nice to have. I couldn’t narrow it down to one manufacturer, but Porsche is definitely at the top of my wish list."

What's in your garage at the moment?
"I drive my Nissan GT-R most of the time, but I've also got a Ford GT, a Porsche 911 GT3, a Mercedes-Benz SL AMG, and a Honda S2000 racing car."

In GT5, we have Premium GT-R's, a Premium S2000, a Premium SL55 AMG, and a Premium Ford GT. I'm sure he would love to be able to drive a GT3 in GT5.

Thankfully GT5 have a very nice network game play and its very interesting but i would like to see more premium cars because i "drive" them from cockpit....

I started out preffering GT5 over Forza 4 (I own and play both), but due to the DLC packs being released once a month on Forza 4, I keep going back for more where with GT5 it has become boring and stale. I still check GT-Planet and these forums for GT5 news in the hope of new content, but if there's nothing new, then why bother. I'll play GT5 again when I feel a bit nostalgic!
