Ahh I know right xD, or I've had Shikaka before, I just sat with a confused face :L
(:

Considering your name is Shikari and looking at your flag you're from Scotland, did you know Enter Shikari are playing T in the Park this year? :sly:

Ahh I've listened to them a little, sorry your not a winners a good song, but I preferred the meaning of the word (: and nooo, I have vaulting competitions over that time so kinda sucks, but I'm hopefully going to the wicker fest. MON THE BIFF! XD

May sound like a stupid question, but how often do you guys refresh/restore the cars body/rigidity? I was in the 86 GT before and the car felt looser and more sloppy than normal then I though of trying to do the body restore thing and it felt like it was back to it's good old self again, I was amazed at the difference. Did like 230 miles before I released it may need to be done. So how often do you guys do it? (:

To be honest, I don't think I've ever restored a chassis of one of my drift cars, lol. Probably why they feel like a runny dog turd.

I think I'm back for good boys, was drifting earlier and rather enjoyed it. Just to refine my skills and should be back to where I was in no time :D

You should try it, made the car feel sharper and transition more flick like.

Wish I could have hopped on to but my Internet decides to go all stupid and give 0.13mb/s :L but for some reason my uploads the same as always.

I thin I'll do that with a couple of my cars then. God knows how I used to drift so well on this game, I'm so useless at the minute, haha.

At first I thought the transition from 270 to 900 was imposable, but its so much more fun now I've got used to it and I'm learning how much to turn and stuff, I spent most of tonight following my own ghost practicing tandem with it lol

I'm still terrible on the G27. Haven't had enough time to try and get it down. Luckily I can still drift on controller. haha

Yea so did I, haha. But once you got the hang ofit, it's not really that much more effort then the MS wheel.

The only time I ever do the refresh stuff is if it's a car I bought from the UCD. Other then that, rarely ever.

Do you not want to be? :P

Course I do :P TBH, on here SFX is the only place like home. I don't think I'd fit in with the others :dopey:

Pfft.. Last time I did a restore was last year. I only ever restore and do a full engine repair oin cars from the UCD if they've got more than 100K on the clock. It's impressive how the little details make up so much for this game. 👍

I seen you on last night and was gonna message you to see if you wanted to dori, but I was busy watching The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, good movie by the way. But the ending is kinda weird 👍 I'll be on all-day today. I've got a little tribute video I want to make, so if any of you guys wanna hop in a lobby with me and help catch some footage, I'd be more than appreciative. 👍

Wats up SFX , just stopping by to show some respect to all of you. i have had some nice runs with SFX and look forward to drifting with you again.

At first I was thinking how can anyone do this for any length of time, but then it just becomes a whole lot less effort and fun, I so want to hop online tonight but my internet is playing up, getting 0.07mb/s, we phone up last week got it fixed after like 6 hours on the phone to them and now it back doing the same. Why can ISP's be good?

I must say.. it's good to see this thread active again. Brings a smile to my pants.

It's not the ISP's fault if I'm honest, it's BT's fault. Back in the 80's when telephone lines were being put into the ground, they routed them any old way, so even though your exchange could be next door (as the crow flies), your telephone line could loop the whole town before it gets to the exchange. Not only is this problem still current, but the copper wire installed for telephone lines is low resistance copper, which means that electrical fields around the telephone lines will create some kind of noise margin. What you should be looking at is a noise margin of around 5-7dB ideally.

What BT has to do is rip every single piece of copper wire out, and replace it with either high resistance copper and route the cables sensibly and the shortest route possible (Property > Cab/DSLAM > Exchange) or make the exchanges wireless and let everyone enjoy free wireless internet anywhere, but again that's going to be a problem and here's why.

In London and a few other places right now, mobile network providers are currently testing a new frequency band for mobiles. Now this new frequency band is called 4G. From what I've seen, (and I look at this stuff a lot!!!) Telephonica (o2) are able to extract around 90mbps from the network. Yes, that's Fibre Optic network territory right there. Why is it so high? Well the frequency they're using is actually the anolouge signal the TV broadcasters use to transmit signals to the non-digital TV's. This is what the big digital switch over is. Gaining speeds like that means you'll be able to download full 1080p HD movies in little than 4 minutes from dedicated film sites.

Unfortunately we won't be seeing 4G until around 2015 since it's still experimental in the UK, however parts of Europe has it. Places in Germany, France, etc.

The best way to check how much your line can actually handle and how long your line is actually routed, is to check your line attenuation levels and how far you are from your exchange then multiply that by 1.4 (just the distance from the exchange).

You can check how far you are from the exchange by going here:

http://www.dslzoneuk.net/distance.php

and once you know your attenuation levels go here:

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php

That will calculate your TRUE max speed and line length.

Dependant on who your with, you can check the line attenuation levels from the routers GUI.

I'm with Sky so I could check by going to:

http://192.168.0.1/sky_system.html

enter in the admin/password combo, by default it's usually:

user: admin
password: sky

Virgin customers are different slightly, they do:

http://192.168.0.1

user: admin
pass: changeme

Then click Advanced, and goto Router Status. :P

Hope that helps...

Hahahaha. Sorry, I had to get it out me before I blew up with technological break-down syndrome. I'm good now.

You gonna be on later Adam? I wanna do some tandems, I ain't dori'd all day. Been to busy dominating the Seasonals. XD

Yea I'll be on later. Just watching The Simpsons and have my dinner, should be on at about 7ish.

Cool beans, I'm just about finished my tea here too, but I've got some photos I need to post in my gallery, which will take me about 30-40 mins to edit, so it'll be nice timing. :D

I'll be on in a couple hours as well. Just grabbing some lunch and dropping some things off at my new place first.

Just got on, but I'm going to let my controller charge for a little while so it doesn't die when I got it rigged up as my handbrake, lol.

Ahh no, I'm not bothered about my normal speed I'd received (2.20mb/s at down time and 1.75mb/s peek) it just last week it dropped to 0.13mb/s we spend hours and hours on the phone to get it sorted and its worked perfect for about 5 days and now its down to 0.7mb/s and also keeps disconnecting its self now, never happened before until recently and now we are just going round in circles asking if I have all the cables plugged in, its like ohhhh no, I'm just telepathic so I can tell its going to be running slow, they do ask the most stupid questions and go round and round in circles. Technology annoys me -_-

Best thing to do is plug your router directly into the master socket. That's where it should be anyway to get the best possible speed. One thing I've learned with broadband providers is, if you take of the cover from the master socket, there's a test socket behind it. If it's still slow when plugged into that test socket, it's their equipment and you can hassle the 🤬 out them until they fix it. If they don't you've got the legal right to take 'em to court.

I think ISPs just fear me when I go on the phone... they seem to do everything quickly. XD
