I've been thinking about having custom nameplates for our series, and I wanted to make sure it included a few things:
- Driver Name
- Driver Number
- Driver Division
- Advertising for SNAIL
- Current Season Standings
- Past Season Results

Here are some examples of what I was thinking:

MSgtGunny (currently in first, hence the gold background):

TEX-36 (currently in second, finished second last season, finished off the podium the first season):

They look awesome I wish I had the patience to do this lol

D2 Drivers, what kind of lap times are you getting up to this point? I need a baseline of some sort to benchmark myself against. At this point, at night, it’s not looking good for me at all.

I like the idea of having matching number plates. But my input, I think we should have it without the standings on there because wouldn’t we have to change/upload new plates every week. Would it be easier if D1 was Blue and D2 was red or something like that.

The reason I combined night time with the x1 tire and fuel was to emphasize that this race was not about raw pace, and was going to be about consistency.
With less visibility, and less grip because of night time, I predict whomever can run a race without ever having to pit to repair damage is going to do very very well (at least a podium).

The M4 is capable of doing 2:12's but that's pushing the limit of the car on soft tires.
However, with this being a likely 1 stop race - consistency is far more important than speed.

How about keeping past season results (the smaller circles near the number)? This way you would only have to change plates every two months.

I like the idea of distinguishing between divisions by color. Might as well go with the color-coding that we have for standings (D1=Blue, D2=Green).

Yeah I like the different colors for divisions. And the past season results I like as well. I’m all for it.

I'll keep tweaking until Season 4 starts, and then upload one for every official driver.

Any other suggestions from the group?

Can I recommend not green?

Something with more contrast, green will end up looking like a highlighter in sunlight.

1) Avoiding damage will be the key to success, whatever that means to each driver entered;
2) Passing impatiently will risk damage to both cars. It’s a long way down the hill with engine troubles.

I plan on participating in Race C (Gr. 3 at Bathurst) quite a bit over the weekend to get used to navigating traffic up and down the hill. I figure if I can consistently avoid contact with the clowns in Sport mode, I'll be well-suited to keep it clean on Tuesday.

Good practice for Sunday as well - if you're racing with us.

I’m gonna be straight up about this particular race coming Tuesday evening. I will be slow, I will be in everyone’s way. My best so far for Sunday’s combo is 2:13, and that’s in daylight conditions. This is not my best track by far, so I will try not to be a hinderance to any of you. I thought about skipping this one all together so the rest of you could have a fairly decent race without having to negotiate by me, but that would put my full time driver status in jeopardy, as I’ve already missed two races this season.
I’ll do what I can to stay out of everyone’s way.

I wouldn't aim to "stay out of everyone's way" - just stick to your line and I'm sure everyone will enjoy the challenge of navigating traffic.

Race for next Tuesday.

Mount Panorama (Bathurst)

Division 2

@BradESPN could we make the yellow headlights for D2 a rule for this race. I think it would help out greatly as a D2 driver to know who is behind you and coming up to pass you. I know we have brought this up in the past but I think the timing is good considering both cars are GR cars, and the race is a nighttime. Just my two cents.

EDIT: we could leave it up to a vote too

Yes, let's do it.

If you're in D2 and you show up on Tuesday without yellow headlights you will be (politely) asked to make the change.

Can someone post the exact steps to change the headlights? I know how to do it when I'm in the livery editor, but I can't remember the sub-menu name "Racing Items" maybe?
