Hey Vol, I won't be driving in the series anymore. I'm going to be concentrating on the S.N.A.I.L. club's activities.

Had fun driving with you guys, have a good one or two!

I will be there this evening. Snail has classroom sessions tonight and as folks may remember, I don't practice. :)

I'm running late. Are there enough folks presently?

I enjoyed it, but when you take away the ability for the expert drivers to draft pass you leave them no choice but to be aggressive in the corners. I would have enjoyed racing against Nic some more but it usually came down to one of us pulling away from the other or getting stuck in traffic.

Anyway, I like the no tuning allowed room setting and using power reduction to set handicaps.

The second race sank me. I shouldn't have quit, but in the moment I thought damage was permanent. I think I'm developing a more direct approach with passing. I made several moves that I just wouldn't have tried a year ago. Even though some were unsuccessful, they eventually led to passes.

:( Diabolic is growing up!

PS: one day I'll be an expert and you'll be in trouble.

It was better than last week (86).... maybe we could increase the Performance Point Increment from 4 to 5-6?

I'm glad to hear it is getting better.

I was wondering if bumping the PP step to five would be a good idea, or if starting people out a different levels based on the previous week's finishing would be good. I don't know that I want to start people out at the extremes, but move people down or up a single PP step based on the previous week's final results.

Either way, something that I am going to change:

I'm going to start at the bottom of leaderboard and ask everyone to fill in the blanks:

Next week we will be driving the (car) at (track), (track), and (track).

I'll start by picking the NC. I was very tempted to pick one of the 80s standards from the online dealership, but that rolls over today. The FC and RX-8 I think would be fantastic stable platforms for this, too.

So, Miata, Dabney, Spooble, you guys want to pick the race courses? Miata, you get first pick, and I'm going to keep the three courses each run twice for now. So also tell me if you want your course to be 1st and 4th, 2nd and 5th, or 3rd and last.

And I reserve the right to reject silly choices, like Chamonix (or whatever it is).

Race 2 last night...

My choice for next week...

'69 Camaro at Laguna Seca, Daytona RC, and Indy RC

the flat colors looked great on the Z cars.

^^ My auto driver made it back to course but on my screen i hit the pit barrier?? I don't understand how that is possible.

They absolutely do!

The plastic wheel arches look silly. But the older Zs look better than the newer ones.

Here is a pick from last night:

I was wondering if I should ask everyone to pick a different color just for the pics. But...

In the foreground is Spooble, from left to right is Dabney, Nic, Huyler, Miata, and Diabolic, and that's me in the way back.

Huyler, I need a warning when I'm at work whether or not to look at a picture now. Saw the pic you posted and had to catch myself from hitting the floor. My goodness it's gorgeous! It's practically pornography.

It looks lighter than the matte purple looked on the car paint swatch in GT Auto.
(But I've never actually painted a car matte purple, so I don't know...)

The lighting here is different from what is in the GT Auto room (probably warmer since it is more natural light). And in fairness, the picture was taken at -1 EV since it was taken with a very fast shutter speed (to keep Spooble's car from being a complete blur).

On the track, it did look very good, though.

Warning: scrolling down may cause the knee-jerk reaction to start shopping for vintage Nissans.

Oh, and if we were playing Shift2 instead of GT5, this is what we could be racing with...

Instead of this...

The roadster on GP/D sounds great. Count me in again for this upcoming week.

edit: Huyler, why are you doing this??

(sneaks a peek at screen)

:nervous:

...thud!

(falls on floor)

those Z's are awesome!! I might drop my interest in vintage Kawasaki motorcycles, and move on to Nissans!

I'll try and make it next week...!

The bay is so tidy, except for the leads. Its like a man slammed the hood closed, walked into the shop office and said, "Alright, the car's ready." Then, stage left, a second man appears holding a group of leads going, "What about these?"

"Those....just let them dangle like so....Yeah that works."

(Hood slammed shut)

Livery editor for the win.

I am not creative enough to come up with cool paint jobs, but for a series, I would be abusing the livery editor making everyone put numbers on their doors.

I enjoy GT5, but PD is putting too much emphasis on the wrong things.
