I hope everyone had a great Christmas and are looking forward to celebrating the New Year this weekend. On that note, we are almost within 2 weeks of Event #2 at Watkins Glen. As mentioned, we are set with a full grid confirmed with 1 PS5 driver currently on Reserve. I did want to drop a few contacts/reminders.
1.) Teams: We still only have 3 teams established for the Teams Championship. With only one event down, there is still time to organize and get a team set and still be able to stay in a points race for the Teams Championship. (1 Event gets dropped) See the Teams tab (Tab 2.6) in the 1st Post on details of what is needed to organize and establish a team. We still have over 2 weeks until our next event....if interested in competing for the Teams Championship, get started now before it's too late.
2.) Liveries and/or Time Trials: Most drivers have completed all necessary time trials to be classed, as well as the completion of an approved livery. @theharieffect and @Azkaz : I am still in need of a final version of your livery (Let me know if you need a livery rendered) @FREEREVN : I am still in need of time trial data for you to be classed and eligible to race if needed @Kgffy and @Yugofan : I am in need of both time trial data and a livery (let me know if you need a livery rendered)
3.) Potential for PS4 ONLY roster: As a reminder and to reiterate a previous post in regards, I am open to assisting the organization and scoring of a PS4 only parallel roster and series. We currently have 6 drivers on the PS4 Reserve roster.
The following still needs to be established before this gets the greenlight as a stand alone series: * A dedicated and reliable host for the PS4 series....need a volunteer who can commit to the next 5 events. Duties will include opening, directing, and hosting the PS4 race room, granting cautions (when called correctly and only one per race), take screenshot pictures of the qualifying and race results, sending the screenshots to my PSN (NOVA-0479), and saving and sharing replays (tag as: snailgt3cup)
** Need help to recruit more PS4 drivers to give the PS4 series a quality sized roster and grid.
***A minimum of 6 PS4 drivers will be necessary to qualify an event for formal scoring, standings, and PP regulation changes.
**** PS4 drivers will need to confirm their attendance/intentions the same as the PS5 roster. (Any less than 6 confirmed and present on the grid will not qualify the event for scoring) You guys can race, but no scoring will occur.
4.) @Valex , @Mdaddio79 , and @Kgffy : Let me know if you guys confirm and are available as reserves for Event #2. Even though the grid is confirmed full, we always tend to have at least one or two drop off before race night....better to be over covered than not enough.
Event Details have been posted: Event #2 Race Details for Watkins Glen Long Course
I will have practice lobbies open over the next two weeks between 4-5pm est, and am sure @Fudman420 and others will have rooms open in the prime evening time frames. Please post in the PSN group message and on here when a room is opened to afford other drivers the opportunity to practice with the group. See some of you in practice rooms, and the rest on race night, Friday January 12th at 9pm est.
(confirmed as of 8:10am, 12/28/23) = Confirmed for grid spot / = Confirmed as a Reserve
Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried this and it does allow it to work a little longer but the issue is still there. I think taking it apart and giving it a thorough cleaning might do the trick. I just have to find the time to do it.
There is the possibility that after 8 and half years that it might just be on it's last legs. If that's the case, I have to make a decision. Go back to the controller or give up GT all together because if I'm going to spend money on a hobby, it's going to be golf at this point.
Please do. We have 4 weeks to the next race night, 3 weeks-ish to get the roster built up enough to make a stabd alone ps4 series worthwhile. Thanks for any efforts you can spare.
on GT7, PS5 Users PREFERRED (PS4 Users accepted by approval

******************************** Event Info Season Opener Event #2 Friday, January 12th, 2024 9pm EST Watkins Glen Long Couse Conditions: Late Morning, S11, Sunny with Alpine Mist 18 laps/Race
******************************** Driver Sign Ups OPEN and continously being Accepted
Welcome to the return of SNAIL's Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge using a race modified and tuned version of the NEWLY Released (992) 2022 Porsche 911 GT3. The will be spec'd with required and specific upgrades to create our own version of the 992 Porsche GT3 Cup car.
A list of required tuning modifications and livery requirements have been made available and can be found in Section 3 of this post.
Race Events will be once a month on Friday nights, 9pm est.
Start building your car, and if interested in joining, please post here in the thread.
To Sign Up, Due to the inconsistent and unstable nature of open lobbies with cross platform use, this series will be preferenced toward PS5 users. PS4 Users will be allowed to sign up and must be approved for network stability to compete, but will only be accepted in a Reserve Driver role. Drivers who sign up outside of the North American region will also have their connection stability assessed among the remainder of the attending roster during test and practice sessions leading up to the season's start. At any time if room stability is compromised, that driver(s) will be asked to leave the event, or possibly the series if the issues cannot be resolved. I am determined to continue our run of piloting stable and smooth running series on this GT7 title. All cooperation will be appreciated. Please have a glance through the first post, and if interested sign up as follows:
1.) Please Copy/Paste the template below and post in this thread with your information:
PSN ID:
GTPlanet ID:
Car Number:
PS5 Platform: answer "yes" or "no"
2.) Build your car using the Build Sheet/Spec list noted in Section 3.1
3.) Run the Time Trial noted in the "Time Trial Instructions" tab noted below
Time Trial Instructions:

Conditions: Afternoon, SO1
4.) Run approximately 10-15 laps or until consistency is established. Screenshot your lap history along with your timing display box showing fastest lap and optimal lap. Then send that to me via psn message (NOVA-0479). I will review the data, and if changes to your PP regulation is needed, I will return an adjusted PP regulation for you to retest. Run time trial again and re-submit updated data as noted above. Drivers that fall in the median 0.7 second window of each other will establish the average and will make up the PRO-AM class. They will not be required to test further. Any outliers, hi or low, will be adjusted and will require additional time trial data. Please make your best efforts to give the time trial your best attempt but most consistent attempt. This will ensure we get the best parity to start the season that we can. Feel free to start running now.
4.) Render your Livery to the series requirements noted in Section 3.2 (Or feel free to request a livery to be rendered)
For PS4 Users ONLY: Please coordinate a time with NOVA-0479 or join a lobby with our other series drivers, and run a few races. If I am in the room on a coordinated time, I will review, real time, and take a replay to verify stability. If you are in a room with other drivers and I am not present, please ask one of those drivers to capture and share a replay of at least one of the testing/practice races and to message me with a search tag for review.

RACE NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
16 player Party Chat Policy
The Party Chat feature will opened after the Race Room with the following Rules:
1.) It is required that drivers enter the Open party chat to help in the flow of communication to start the night and communicate Caution requests/issuing and directives during the Caution.
2.) Open Conversation is allowed at the opening of the Race Room to the official start of Qualifying, approximately 9:15pm est. ALL MICs MUST BE MUTED AT THIS TIME, thru Qualifying, and Race (Host will remind all drivers to please mute mics before the call to start qualifying)
3.) During the race, Drivers may only come on the mic to verbally request a Caution/Yellow Flag, and for the Caution to be issued by the Race Director and directives related to the Caution.
4.) Once the race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume un-muted conversation up to the call to mute mics before the next race.
Be reminded that no discussions regarding on track incidents are to be discussed, except obviously, if it is simply an apology and no more. Please review the penalty guidelines for more detail on this policy.
And Lastly,
Please don't be that guy who has their mic on the whole race (If your headphones do not have a mute feature, simply leave the party chat before the Qualifying Session begins**
Hopefully this will add to the overall quality of these Events.
As of December 2023, PS4 driver entries are now being accepted for the series, but only in a Reserve driver role. All PS4 driver entries will be placed on a dedicated PS4 driver roster/pool. These drivers may confirm their availability at anytime after a most recent event. This only establishes priority among the other PS4 drivers in the Reserve pool.
PS5 Drivers will continue to maintain confirmation and grid priority up to the Thursday before a race night at 5pm est. At that time, if the grid is not full from PS5 driver confirmations (from the entire PS5 roster), the open grid spots will be offered to the PS4 driver roster with spots filled in the order that PS4 Reserve drivers confirmed available.
(PS5 drivers that confirmed outside the first 16 and are considered "PS5 Reserves" will still maintain priority to bump onto the grid. Once ALL confirmed PS5 players are exhausted, any remaining open grid spots will then offered to the PS4 driver pool.)
PS4 Reserves should be prepared and keep a look out after the 5pm est, Thursday cutoff, as invites will be in the order of confirmations of availability.
As is the case with the PS5 roster, all drivers should be on a hard wired connection and clear their cache before room entry. Any noticeable lag, jittering, screeching will be assessed during the warm up session. If excessive issues are noticed by a number of drivers, and cannot be resolved before the start of qualifying, that driver will be asked to leave if Reserve drivers (PS5 or PS4) are online and ready to race. A psn message invite will be sent for the available reserve(s) to enter the race room.
All PS4 entries will be assessed for network stability and must be approved before final acceptance onto the PS4 reserve roster. Please coordinate a time with NOVA-0479 or join a lobby with our other series drivers, and run a few races. If I am in the room on a coordinated time, I will review, real time, and take a replay to verify stability. If you are in a room with other drivers and I am not present, please ask one of those drivers to capture and share a replay of at least one of the testing/practice races and to message me with a search tag for review.
If the inclusion of PS4 Reserve drivers proves successful in this capacity, I will consider opening entries to all (PS5 and PS4) drivers for our next series.
PS4 drivers are to follow all sign up instructions and processes as a normal driver.

(If a second time trial is not submitted the week before our 1st race date, the Race Director will apply a PP handicap/concession based on the initial time trial results)
-All Drivers must adhere to and maintain the set weight regulation for this car
-Changes to driver PP regulations will be adjusted after each event based on each driver's Preliminary Overall finishing placement prior to any penalty points issued and will be noted at the bottom of the Drivers List Post.
-"PP" value adjustments will be issued after each event for top 5 finishers and drivers finishing outside the Top 10 Overall to further dial in the parity of the field as the season progresses.

Race Night CONFIRMATION, ABSENTEE REPORTING, and PARTICIPATION POLICY
Driver "Race Night" confirmation policy
-A Confirmation Reminder Post with ALL drivers tagged will be posted in the main thread as well as a PSN conversation by the Friday of the week before a scheduled Race night
All Drivers, may "Early" confirm their attendance or availability at any time after the most recent Event to establish their priority and grid spot fo the next event.
-All drivers tagged are asked to confirm that they "will" or "will not" be racing by 5pm est Thursday (day before race night) to guarantee the scheduled race.
-A minimum of 10 drivers confirmed to attend will be required to guarantee the race night.
(if minimum is not reached, event will be postponed 1 week. If minimum is still not established for the make up date, the event will be cancelled and we will move onto the next venue)
Race Night Participation Policy
Any drivers that confirm their attendance for Race night are holding a grid spot and committing to a full night of racing. For this series format to function the way it was intended, participation to the end of race night is extremely important. Therefore, any driver who leaves prior to the conclusion of race night will receive points only for the race completed, and a -5 Point penalty will be assessed against that driver's season standing.
-If unable to attend due to a change of circumstances or plans, please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. *The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est. *
Any drivers who are confirmed to attend, and fail to appear, will automatically default to a Reserve for their next confirmed event.
Exceptions:
(If you disconnect during a race, please return to the room and wait out the remainder of that race. This will satisfy the above participation policy.)
[Life does dish out Emergency situations. If this occurs, please exit the race and post the message: "Emergency Exit Needed" before leaving the room.]
Please remember that a grid spot was held for you to race when you confirmed attendance which placed other drivers on the waiting list. Let's be sure that the grid spots we are holding are being used up for the night.
Thanks Fellas.
ALL Drivers attending a race night event will be required to submit their performance spec sheet (via screenshot) to either:
1.) My PSN: NOVA-0479 (if choosing discretion), or
2.) The series PSN group chat (if open to allowing others to view your tune)
This MUST be done between the time that the room is opened (9pm est) to the start of Qualifying (9:15pm est)
-If Race 1 is missed, and the driver is attending Race, he must submit before the start of Race 2.
-These will be reviewed post event.
-Failure to meet your specific regulations or submit spec sheets will result in a 10 point penalty assessed against your total score for the event.
It should look like the attached picture, and must be done prior to every event. (Disregard the 650.00pp regulation in picture, just an example) View attachment 1244687 Spec sheet must show:
-Weight (Must remain as noted in chart below)
-PP Spec specified for each driver - do not exceed
-Transmission type being used
-Modification list on the far right
(All drivers should send 2 screenshots for scrutineering)
Race Hard tires
Reminder:HP is the only way that PP can be manipulated to achieve a driver's PP maximum. Weight MUST remain as noted.
Again, these will be reviewed after each event. Please don't forget.
Race Team Details
-Race teams may be comprised of at least 2 or up to 4 drivers total.
-All teams will be asked to research online for a "Real World" Porsche race team name (Examples: Flying Lizard Motorsports, JDX Racing, Topp Racing, TPC Racing, Kelly-Moss R&R, Wright Motorsports, etc) affording the use of already rendered decals (I have decals for many of these), or create a team name. If creating a team name, a pre-rendered decal must be sourced or one must be created, uploaded, and shared for use on all team cars. If not familiar with how to create or upload a decal, message me...I am glad to help create any decals as needed.
-All drivers included in a team must have their car marked on 3 sides of the race car (front, left, right) and a "driver" side profile of the updated car livery over the white background submitted to be eligible for team scoring. (Any driver's cars missing the decals or who have not submitted an updated profile picture with the team name shown will not have their points count toward a team's score for that event(s))
-Only the overall scores of the 2 top scoring drivers for each event will count toward that event's team score.
- (1) Drop score for the season (lowest team score of the season)
Team Creation and Announcement
Drivers may solicit to form a team in the thread or via pm.
Teams may be announced as soon as at least 2 drivers are agreed and confirmed for a team, and MUST be announced formally on the thread once formed.
Drivers may be added to already created 2+ Driver teams up to a maximum of 4 drivers
Drivers must submit their edited livery reflecting the team name on their car to be eligible for that team's points.

Yellow Flag/Cautions Process
Since this series will be a (2) 30 minute race format, we will be instituting a "Called Caution/Yellow Flag" feature to regroup the field in the event of an incident. (1 Caution available for each Race)
The following processes and rules will apply:
1.) ALL Drivers must enter and remain in the 16 driver party chat whether they have a Mic or not. (Chat audio will come through your monitor/tv for those without a headset.)
2.) Mics must be muted at all times, Except:
a.) When a driver verbally requests a caution/yellow flag, or
b.) When the Host/Race Director grants and calls the "Full Course Caution", or directions during Caution (Green this lap, etc)
NO OTHER VERBAL CONVERSATION IS ALLOWED DURING THE RACE
3.) Drivers should continue racing until the Host/Race Director verbally calls out: "Full Course Caution"
4.) Single Car accidents or "off-tracks" are not permitted to request a Caution at any time. (This can be cause for distraction and will be met with a penalty assessed post race)
5.) At least (2) Drivers of any size incident must request a Caution for it to be issued.
6.) ALL drivers must slow to 65-70 mph, single file, and avoid any contact with other cars.
7.) A maximum of (1) Cautions/Yellow Flags per Race will be afforded. (If there are incidents after a caution was granted, we will stay Green Flag.)
8.) NO PIT STOP. This is a regrouping caution only.
9.) The Caution period will be the remainder of the lap if the incident occurs early in the lap and the field can be quickly re-grouped, or one additional lap if necessary. Race Director will decide and instruct when the field is to return to Green, or whether an additional lap is necessary.
10.) NO Cautions will be granted for any incidents that occur in the final 2 laps of any race.
11.) Cautions called and Granted in the Opening 2 laps will be issued, leaving none left for the remainder of the race. In this situation, the incident will automatically initiate a review with penalties being issued to the driver(s) that created the incident. PLEASE TAKE CAUTION IN THE OPENING LAPS AND AVOID INCIDENT IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE
How to Call for a Caution:
(At least (2) Drivers of any size incident must request a Caution for it to be issued.)
1.) Verbally over Mic, say: "Caution Requested, by (your name)"
OR:
if No Mic, text in the chat box: "cr" or "Caution"
(If no response from the Host/Race Director within 10 seconds, request again)
2.) Host/Race Director will respond:
"Full Course Caution" when acknowledged.
(Drivers should continue to race until the Caution is acknowledged and issued)
Play by Play Process during a "Full Course Caution"
Once "Full Course Caution" is called:
1.) The Overall race leader becomes our pace car and is to gently slow to 65-70 mph, with all drivers catching up and slowing to the 65-70 mph pace speed, single file and in the position they were in when the Caution was issued
2.) Overall Race Leader is to pace the field for the remainder of the lap when the Caution was issued and/or 1 complete lap if necessary.
3.) All drivers are expected to be grouped up before the final corner. If not grouped prior to final corner, the Race Director will instruct an additional Caution Lap.

Welcome to the series. Please refer to the top of the 1st post for car build requirements, time trial instructions, and livery requirements. Any questions at all, please let me know. We are stacked up on the grid for Event #2 at Watkins Glen, but feel free to confirm your attendance to be a reserve if needed. It is likely you will not make a spot for this event, but be sure to confirm as soon as possible for future events to secure a spot. Grid spots are awarded on a 1st to confirm basis with the confirmations for the next event open immediately after the event race room is closed. Spots go fast with the larger roster we are currently holding. Anyway, welcome and looking forward to having you on track with us.
@Gurney67
Just a reminder to add the "Wheel-Spin Motorsports" decal to your car (front and both sides) to be eligible to count toward team points for our next event. I provided the link for convenience. Please forward an updated profile picture with team name shown.
To the remaining PS5 drivers on the roster that have not joined or formed with a team, it's still not to late to organize. See Tab 2.6 in the 1st post of this thread for details and instructions. Announcement of team and cars must be branded with team name before next Thursday, 1/11/24 to have drivers eligible toward team scoring points. Any questions, let me know.

For all PS4 drivers currently signed up and PS5 drivers, please put the word out that we are recruiting for a secondary PS4 roster and a place for the un-used PS5 reserves to overflow to on a race night. See below for the post I left in the main SNAIL thread. Get the word out so we can try to include as many drivers as possible who want to race and have a grid for Friday Night Racing.
Thanks Fellas.
Attention all SNAILs running on PS4 platforms:
The SNAIL Friday Night Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series is now recruiting PS4 drivers to build a parallel series to run alongside the primary PS5 series. This will be a 5 Event Championship for the PS4 lobby since we have already run one event in the primary PS5 lobby.
The series was initially set for PS5 only drivers, and I then opened the series to accept PS4 drivers as last minute reserves to form a "last resort" reserve pool/roster. Since then, our PS5 roster has grown to a point that PS4 reserve drivers have a very limited possibility of getting a spot on the grid. Therefore, I am trying to organize a roster of PS4 drivers to run as a separate stand alone scoring series. This would also allow PS5 Reserve drivers, that did not make the primary PS5 grid, to overflow into and have a place to race and be scored for the race night. (Points scored by PS5 overflow drivers in the PS4 series room would count toward the PS4 series standings).
We currently have five PS4 drivers signed up, with four PS5 Reserves yet to secure a grid spot on the primary roster for Event #2. After any absences are covered in the PS5 lobby, the remaining PS5 Reserve drivers could overflow into the secondary PS4 lobby to run and be scored with them. I will be setting a minimum requirement that at least six drivers will need to be confirmed and on the grid for the event to be scored. Otherwise, it will default to an exhibition event. Whoever volunteers to host the PS4 room will be asked to screenshot the qualifying and race results and share both replays to assist in scoring and reviews.
If on a PS4 and interested in some Friday Night SNAIL Racing in the 992 Porsche GT3 RS built into a Cup car, please have a look at the link in my signature below and join us. Sign up and time trial instructions are noted at the top of the first post. We still have a week to go and plenty of time to get a formidable roster built for our PS4 owners. Any questions, hit me up.

Will you guys be available to race Friday night?
And, @Mdaddio79 , @Kgffy , @DublDee ,@Louis3986 , and @Valex (if you're available): Assuming none of you are needed for the primary series roster this Friday, would you guys be interested and available to run in a combo room with the PS4 Reserves for an 8-9 car grid?
Looks like we have @Xradkins and @Yugofan available, and if the drivers tagged above are available and ready to race, you guys could have an 8-9 car grid...well worthy of a scoring event. Let me know, and if so, I will need a volunteer to direct the secondary lobby: Host, screenshot qually/race results, and save/share replays. As mentioned, PS5 drivers that score in this secondary room will have have their points scored for this secondary series, not the main series....but at least it will afford a formal lobby to overflow to and have a good night of racing. I'm willing to score the secondary lobby, just need someone to take lead to organize and direct it.

Send me a friend request. I usually have one open around race time most nights leading up to race night. Last night we had phlano, yugofan, sand and Niagara. Feel free to join us.
Awesome sir. I will screenshot the lobby settings screen and forward to you tomorrow and give a run down of the process and whats needed. Appreciate it.
