Bronco is out indefinitely. Rainmaker is out and Jones is out.Not sure if Random is out or not. Nor do I have any idea which classes are running (if any) tomorrow.

So there I stand. Possibly one driver and no idea what is going on.

I am still in. If everyone else quits, then I win by default :)

Okay, another mistakes dawns on me, but it isn't that big a todo...

I was thinking that tonight, we could start testing a ballast system. but some people may have loaded their cars with 200 Kg, meaning they have no room for ballast. Still, we'll have to see what we can do.

We will run 7 lap races at Monza.

We will meet in the SNAIL_Division2 lounge. If we get enough people, we will split into two lounges.

You may want to get advice from the Technical Director. Oh, we don't have one yet.

Anyone want to be a technical director? Clearly I've been too busy to keep this thing going. I seriously would not mind if someone wanted to step up and keep it going.

I'm just leaving school now, what a whirlwind of a first day :scared:

Sorry Mighty_Mopar but it doesn't look like I will be making this race tonight. Actually I'm not even sure if Mighty is racing since our tuner backed out.

So, a bit more success in equalizing the racing tonight. Next week, we'll try the same thing with a tweaked R.E.W.A.R.D. system. Try to have 100KG available to add to your car. We figured that 100KG equals about 17HP. Just try to keep your PP the same. Again, we're just testing this.

For the future, there are a few ideas. The first being Vol's current plan; to have a 400PP FF class, and a spec Corvette RM class. If we're going to go with one car in one class, I think we should do the same in both. There's a Golf RM model available. I assume we would leave the parts as is, but allow free tuning of the suspension, gearbox, diff, and aero. The second idea is to revive the Lemons to LeMans series, where everyone chooses a car, tunes it up to a certain PP level without adding any non-PP adding parts. I'm half thinking of doing this, but maybe on another night. The last idea I can think of right now is to go back to a single class with just a HP and weight limit. If we go this route, we should do a better job ensuring that the PP levels are relatively close. We got too caught up in the whole rigamarole at the start of this season and it didn't turn out great. Oh well, live and learn.

If anyone likes any of these ideas in particular, or has a good idea of their own, post it!

I'll volunteer.

I really liked the Lemons to LeMans idea. Instead of using the ingame purchase price for upgrades, maybe we could assign points to them. Those who place lower get more points to use toward those upgrades.

Points or dollars (credits, whatever) I think it's the same. It's probably just easier to not have to convert the parts prices to points.

I suggested that because last night someone mentioned how the full suspension costs so much but gives little performance advantage. Where as a turbo costing half as much would provide a noticeable difference.

I see what you're saying, giving the parts prices based on their performance gain. Right?

Right. It would be a decent amount of work to figure out how beneficial each part is. But its funny how in GT5 a 10 year old Miata and a brand new Lamborghini use the same air filter.

I don't know that it's the same air filter, maybe the same brand...

Lambo
Miata

I was thinking for the race this week, we could all run SC class cars and test further refinements of the success ballast system.

Well tie me up and call me Cindy... a Lambo seems much more affordable now ;)

I wouldn't mind running in SC. I'm curious to see how Joe(Ice_Warden) tuned it.

Last sunday through wednesday I was sick and my track performance suffered greatly.

I crashed out of every single snail race on sun and every tuner race on tues. I am prepared to do much better this week :)

Want me to send the shelby specs to you Random?

Okay, this Tuesday, everyone show up in SC cars. We'll test the ballast system again.

Next week, we'll start with some FF RMs. I am getting these loadouts from another series. I don't think they are very competitive with each other, but I can't figure it out. As time goes along, we can tweak these cars as needed. We can even see about expanding it to include more RM/TCs, but we'll start with these three for right now.

Each driver runs a different number (I'm #3). Each two driver team must run the same car with the same paint. First come first serve on that, but dibs goes to those who have that color now. So if Dabney, Cheeb, or Bowler want to team with me, we have dibs on orange.

The three cars that are available:

Honda Civic Type R (EK) RM '97
  • Oil Change
  • Race Modification
  • Engine Tuning Stage 1
  • High RPM Range Turbo Kit
  • Racing Hard Tires

Honda Integra Type R (DC5) RM '04
  • Oil Change
  • Race Modification
  • Engine Tuning Stage 1
  • Racing Hard Tires

Volkswagen Golf IV GTI RM '01
  • Oil Change
  • Race Modification
  • ECU Tuning
  • Engine Tuning Stage 3
  • Sports Intake Manifold
  • Sports Exhaust Manifold
  • Catalytic Converter: Sports
  • High RPM Range Turbo Kit
  • Racing Hard Tires

Hey Vol, I'm out for tonight, I 'might' catch the last race but likely not.

Looking forward to the FF RM cars next week 👍

I'm guessing we need to use our team SC car, correct? I've had no practice but will show.. I'll take any excuse I can get to use my new home-built, modular, cheap man's race seat/rig.

FYI. My PS3 is downloading an update right now. Might not want to wait till 10 to hop on if you haven't updated yet.

The Shelby is an amazing car and I can't believe I haven't used it before. I stayed back with Ice for some testing. Used a Shelby with stock tune and was running 5 seconds a lap faster than the vette.

How does a FR achieve 50/50 balance?

Lol. Yea that thing is fast but I'm starting to think it's also that the Vette is slow. At Laguna I spent so much time tuning that thing and found 2 seconds only to be out qualified by 2 seconds or so.

I think Ice was right in that a new sports car should be much faster around a track than an 69 vette.
