I'm pretty sure it's Racing Hard tires.

Edit: I see that you were included in the PM that had the tune. I'll get to the paint chip after I feed the dogs.

Yes RH tires and it is very important that the only part we can purchase and upgrade for the car is the LSD. Do not add any other parts or mods, not even air filters. Oil changes are a must.

Confirmed. My car is matte light blue on bronze, #55, and ready to go. See you guys tonight!

I was just kicked off... PSN says I have to install a software update. Ill be back when its done.

AAAAAAA 40%. Really hope I'm not missing the races. This sucks. PSN sucks. Why do we need an update right now. Argh. 👎👎👎👎

Hey Vol, I'm home now but am totally spent.

I thought racing tonight would be good therapy for me, but I'll be nothing but a hazard on track. My sincere apologies to you and my teammate dabneyd.

The one race that I really needed you...

So here's what I've got for next season as far as car specs.

The S15 stays the same as this season.

The Roadster TC will be built with stage 3 engine tuning and a mid rpm turbo kit. It will be run at 516 PP. No other changes to it other than a LSD.

The DC5 RM will run with an ECU Tune, Sports intake, Racing air filter, Sports exhaust, Sports Catalytic, and LSD. It will be run at 488 PP.

While the PP is drastically different between these 3 cars in testing the average lap time over 4 different tracks was within less than a tenth of a second. If while testing you find one car is massively faster please let me know and I'll adjust it. Even though we'll take a week off lets start promoting next season to others so we can get a full field.

Nice race guys!

I found this interesting.

So close and such different views.

Awesome-awesome racing guys. I can't believe that I won the night in points. Each season seems to keep getting better.

Vol, I know losing isn't a lot of fun, but I practiced this for only 30 minutes early in the day. Parking on the track isn't going to improve your driving. At Leguna Seca, I had so many offs it was ridiculous. After every off, I got back on the track and tried again. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn what not to do. Hopefully, you race in the next season.

Already sounds awesome, count me in!

Great series, had lots of fun. The 3rd spot came down to the last race were joe and I race each other hard. I loved every minute of it

It was awesome. I know it's not spec but dxxx that was some close racing. Great job Vol! You need to stay in the race series. Congrats to the 5 guys that tied for second place tonight.

This December will be two years for me in GT5? This is as good as I get. Every single week, I do nothing but wreck. And often I'm already in last, so isn't like, "I would've done well if I hadn't've wrecked." I simply wasn't going to do well.

And I'm not upset about not winning. I'm just driving by myself. When I do see someone it is because they caught up to me and they are likely going to pass me. The only thing I can do is hold the inside of every corner and make them pass me wide. All that can do is delay the inevitable.

It is just soul crushing.

I don't know if you guys want to start another thread for this. I just can't do it next season.

I've been debating coming back on Sundays, but... not sure I can do that either. I'll just have to suffer through completing effing stupid combos and lose race after race, just really driving by myself.

Anyway, thank you all for coming and sticking this out. It was, for the most part, clean. I don't mind making tweaks to the spreadsheet for whomever may need it. Later, I'll update the second post with the winners.

The only way to get better is to focus on your mistakes.... and, the simple fact is, you WOULD do better if you didn't wreck. Look at race 2 from last night: I went from second to last and lost 20 seconds because I let my car get loose and jam against the inside wall of turn 1... That's ONE major incident and it cost me 6-7 points and that whole race.

Second thing is that you WILL lap faster driving too slow through a corner than you will driving too fast and losing grip. It took me a long time to learn that simple fact: Slow down, turn hard, get the hell out.

Finally, you MUST be consistent before you can be fast.

All that being said, if you're not loving what you're doing then you cannot succeed.

I'm not particularly fast but I am fairly consistent, and it sounds like you're asking for help so I'll offer it: I am willing to run with you and try to develop your racecraft, if you are interested. 👍

Vol, I too think your biggest issue is consistency. I chased you for 5 or 6 laps in one of the races last night and you drove very well. I assumed that once I caught your draft and things got tense, you would crack under the pressure, but you didn't. I drafted even with you in a few straights and you held your line and kept at it. It would've been tight all the way to the end, but I think you didn't compensate for the extra speed in the draft and slid wide in turn 1 at the start of the last lap.

Yeah, there was something odd. You followed me for a couple laps, and on the parts of the oval, I stayed low, knowing you could draft past me. I wanted to force you to go high and around me. But you didn't, or couldn't make it stick.

Finally, you get around me, and then I pass you back on the next lap. I have to wonder if the gearing/aerodynamics were different enough on our cars to give me an advantage there.

But yes, I had a good chance at a fifth place finish (mind you, that was because every car behind me had had a bigger off than I had, and even after having an off, you were able to catch up to me) and I blew it. I almost lost sixth, but I think I messed up and threw off Turbo when he was behind me and caused him to wreck as he tried not to smash into me.

But yes, I'm not consistent. And I am not sure how to fix that. ADD maybe, I don't know. Mind you, even if I am consistent, I'm not very fast. My fastest lap without draft or ballast was still high 1:59.

It starts with finding a braking point that's the same every lap. Brake earlier than you think you need to as you can always release the brakes if it's to early. When I worked with you the other day that was your only big issue. Quit trying to go fast and just focus on breaking at the same point each lap. Speed comes from driving a proper driving line with as close to perfect exits as possible from each corner. You get very small gains from braking late and massive gains from being on line and on the gas from apex out of the corner. The statement that you've been playing for two years so won't get any faster is only true if you believe it. I've been around racing for seventeen years and I will always get faster because that's my focus. The day I think I'm the best and can't improve is the day I've opened myself up to being beat. Always learn is the way to improve.

Vol, I've been where you are at. Earlier this year I decided I was going to do something about being last every race. I sent you a pm with a link to follow - I hope it helps you regain your focus and enjoyment of the game. It helped me.

My consistency came up a bunch when I started messing around drifting my 650 HP Z06. I'm not doing the typical show boating. I'm doing more of a dirt trackers slide. Combining the ability to maintain a slide on comfort tires has taught me car control. This attributes mid race when things get wild. I tend to not lose the car and maintain pace.

If you got the ability to do so. Add a butt kicker. The immersion helps you get into the groove more.

Oh also the fast fast Acedemy guys always told me to drive looking out past front of the car. Not to watch right in front. By the time I need to do something it's past. Now with driving farther out in my focus. I'm more apt to react on time.

Hill's braking advice is solid. Find track markers to go from.

Best luck.

I would like to sign up as driver pls :D, Like the success ballast 👍
