I think I have been racing in D4 to long because it has made me think I am good at this game. Tonight assured me I'm not. I don't know if I was to tired or just out classed, either way sorry for the horrible performance tonight.

Be sure to check out the leaderboard. I'll put more information in the first few posts tomorrow.

Next week, the top five drivers start with weight:

Hillracing
dabneyd
Turbo91stdcivic
Oshawa-Joe
kcheeb

Not that the weight makes much of a difference.

The weight made quite the difference for me. I slowed down about a second by the last race. Braking distances got longer top speed went down. I think for the second race it wasn't as big a difference especially because there wasn't a big difference between me and Dabney in weight. So what weight do we start with next week? Also the points seem to be missing the third race I think. Was lots of fun. Looking forward to next week. Hoping the hotel I'm at next week is better on the internet. Hope I didn't mess anyone's race up with my lag.

I didn't notice any lag on your part Hillracing.

Even the extra 20 kg through me off on my breaking points etc. I had a horrible first few laps in the second race

Sorry, fixed the third race points.

And you'll start with 50 Kg. I've put that on the 2012.10.09 sheet.

I'm having time issues and will not be able to commit full time. Sorry. Wish I could win lotto. SIM race all day every day. LoL

I am extremely disappointed with my performance last night. I just couldn't keep it on the road which basically left a bad taste in my mouth for the entire evening.

Unfortunately I only have two or three nights a week to race. One of the days is Sunday for the SNAIL races and the other was Tues for this series.

I have decided to exit this series and move my second racing night to Wednesday so I can try to be more consistent in that series.

Sorry Random. But it looks like there are a couple of interested racers who might join you.

No apologies needed. I didn't do so great myself. But I kept on going because I can't get better without putting in more laps.

So whoever wants to be my teammate, speak up and I'll send you a Matte Blue paint chip. Still need a tuner also.

👍

I think zeromisfit999 (lifesagamble420) was looking to drive last night.

Not sure about available tuners though.

Do you want to try my tune? I missed pole by .1 seconds, just need to be more consistent in one corner where I kept losing time.

I think our tune was good, I was getting times consistently in the 1:30-1:31 range during the race but just wasn't concentrating or something. Went off 5 times in the first race. 4 in the 2nd, and got punted in the corkscrew while getting ready to take the lead in the 3rd.

Each time I went off I would gain back time on the leaders, so I know my times were as good or better than the leaders but I just wasn't focusing very well last night.

Just overall dissappointed and frustrated.

Maybe your tune was unforgiving? Some tunes are fast, but make you pay at the slightest mistake. Oshawa-Joe's tune was a good balance. Pretty quick, but you didn't feel like you were driving on the edge of disaster. I did manage to spin into the wall once at the bottom of the corkscrew, and got it a little sideways there one other time.

For me the tune was good. I had run about an hour worth of practice/tune just before the race with zero offs. I think I just got burned out on the track before the race even started and lost concentration several times.

I haven't applied the secret sauce to my set up yet but Fuji is such a pain it practically demands it. It's gonna be hot!

I am still put off about last night. I didn't expect to really get to race until the third race (reverse grid, most penalty weight). And the race started fantastically. I was actually racing. I even made a nice smooth pass around Spooble. It was totally Zen.

I had just messed up the last corner while following him. I got on the brakes a touch too late, and to avoid hitting him, I turned in too early. But, he gave me enough space and we made it through with no contact. I didn't mean to pass him there, but I did. He passes me back and I follow him for a corner or to and then... I just saw him start to take the wrong line on turn three or four (well, not wrong, but a line that gave me an opportunity) and I took a different one. And just slipped past him. And I was leading. For two or three laps. I lost count. But Spooble and Cheeb were all over me, and I knew it was just a matter of time before they made a pass. I wasn't upset with that. As long as I was able to hang with the lead group, and finish in maybe the top five, I'd be happy.

But then I just effed it all up. More than once. The entire first race, and I didn't have any major incidents. I had a single corner where I went a little wide, got four wheels off the track, and had to slow up a bit. That was it. My first race, which I knew wouldn't matter at all, was clean. I finished seventh because there were three drivers that had multiple spins. My third race, where I had a chance at actually racing, and I effed it up so bad, I finished eighth.

So, I'm going to try to get online sometime and just drive a nice, comfortable, fantastic car that I love, and just drive. Just try to focus, and forget everything else, and get into the flow and not go off! I don't know what I'll drive, yet, but I want to drive something I really enjoy. I like the 3400 S, the RGT, the DB9, the 22B. But I don't know what I'll drive. Just try to meditate and try to build up my focus.

Sounds so eastern hokey.

Sure, I really appreciate the offer.

If either zeromisfit999 (lifesagamble420) or Wolfsatz (Wolfsatz) want to join team Matte Light Blue, PM me on GTPlanet and I'll send you a paint chip and the tune from Oshawa-Joe when I get it. I'm not usually on my :gtplanet: account on the PS3.

BeRandom - are you still wanting me to be your official tuner? I'm going to spend some time tomorrow morning setting up for Fuji GT before I go away for the long weekend. Can have the tune to you before I go.

I really am sorry for not changing my oil, feel like a complete dolt. I'd literally just got the game installed 2 minutes before I got online and totally forgot.

I think I should go back to the ballast I would have started this week with.

Tons of fun tonight. Feels great to have you guys in a fat suit so I can keep up.:sly:or at least try. See you speed demons next tuner Tuesday.:)

Was a blast tonight. Sorry to all who had to race my jumping car (lag). Next week I'll be in a hotel that promises me they have great internet and I'll be there for the final 2 weeks. Really hope I didn't lag into anyone. If I did I'm sorry. Great racing with all of you tonight. Looking forward to next week.

Vol don't get discouraged the ballast is working. If you want some coaching I'd be more than happy to help. That goes for anyone. Just send me a PM.

Vol - take Hillracing up on his offer man. I learned a lot the few times I made it to Tutoring Thursday with Devious and Mopar. I'm thinking of sending hill a PM myself.

Spooble and Berandom - I'm happy to hear you guys liked the set up! You guys were driving the heck out of that car 👍

It is hard to say the ballast is working. Again, this week, you and Dabney dominated. I think Dabney's 6th place finished in the last race was more because of reverse grid than the extra 120 Kg. I'm sure the weight didn't help.

Mind you, I don't know what would be a good measure.

Either way, I'm not basing my judgement of the ballast on my performance.

From my perspective, last night was great! That combo provided lots of clean, close racing and position swapping. I missed my braking point once and clobbered dabney in turn 1 (Really sorry). I think I gave Turbo a decent tap one time too when I didn't see him coming up my inside (Sorry).

I think the ballast is working pretty good. You can't expect it to totally even the playing field. I stayed near the front the first two races, and then I could really feel the 60kg on the last race. I could get to the front of the rear group, but just couldn't pull away to catch the guys up front.

Good times!

Hill tutored me and I won Sunday!(not a paid endorsement)

I don't know if it was the others having ballast, or if I was just having a good night. But last night was some awesome racing. I can't even remember how many passes there were just within the lead pack.
