Vol, you should update post #4 with current information.

Cars felt great and I think will lend to some clean and close racing. The first ballast system seemed to work better in that you add more weight vs less weight, but weight also needs to come off over time somehow. I leave that up to you and your spreadsheet Vol!

This is going to be a great series guys. That was some very close racing up front and mid pack. i was always chasing someone  or getting chased down:scared:

I think we have a great group of 12 drivers that provides a nice mix.

The weight is not going to carry over from week to week. Anyway, if you win the first race, take 50kg, and finish last in the next race, you'll be at the front for the last race with only 50kg additional.

From what I gathered (someone) wanted to carry weight over. However, I could be mistaken.

Think it was said. The over all points decide starting ballast next week. 1st-5th on the 50-10 scale.

Also will we be running full power as in broken in power during season?

The BTCC does have Championship ballast (section 1.11.1.b on page 7) for the first race of each round....excluding round 1 of course where no one has it, lol

Edit: can't believe the rules and regs for BTCC are online but NASCAR keeps theirs a tight-lipped secret :indiff:

OK I am looking for a team mate, I have a pretty decent tune going as well. I didn't make it today, due to excessive amounts of college work and I need to rebuild because of the weight and such as I didn't realize we weren't full tuning. Gonna roll Matte black, since purple is already being used.

Someone else mentioned the idea of week-to-week being based on overall points and not based on that week's finish. And it seems that is the way the BTCC does it, so we will go with that.

And yes, we will be running full power. In fact, I'm going to go one better (more details on that tomorrow when I can log in and check something out).

Excellent, thank you.

The first post now has a section on evening schedule and ballast.

This is where I've been referencing the rules. The reason I said that ballast doesn't carry over, is that you could wind up with more ballast for race 1 than you had for race 3 the previous week.

One thing i just noticed is jlbowler has two teams. Is that allowed?

Quoth the rules, "Tuners will build a car to the regulations. Tuners will win points for their cars. Drivers will be put into teams of two drivers, each, but a Tuner can supply tunes for more than one team of Drivers. The points will not be cumulative, so the Tuner will be judged on his best performing team."

Oops my bad. So its like red bull and torro rosso. Which team is the driver development team? :)

Though, it is obvious that Dabney and Cheeb (in red) are faster than Chuthulu and I (in purple). So don't really worry about us. Just try to beat Dabney and Cheeb.

Now, having said all of that, if there is a tuner that wants to put forward a car and there aren't enough teams, then I'll entertain the idea of driving for them instead. I suspect though, that we'll have more teams than tuners. And I've really liked the tunes that Bowler has given me, so I'm excited to drive for him again.

And I don't really expect us to get above eight teams, but if we do, we can use the D3 lounge for overflow.

And if that happens... well... that is a whole problem unto itself.

And sorry for double posting, but:

Something to consider: cars can, if successful enough, wind up with 150 Kg of ballast. To get in that position, they'd have to enter an evening 1st in championship points giving them 50 Kg. They would have to win the first and second races of the evening, giving them another 50 Kg each. That means they could run the third race of the evening with 150 Kg.

If they remain first in points, they will again start the next session with 50 Kg. The rest won't carry over.

Now, get to PMing and forming teams and getting tuners, and post here as soon as you have that so I can update the second post.

New spreadsheet, now with even more formulas!

Everyone, book mark it. It will be helpful.

Feel free to tell me any team names.

If and when that does happen, we can do a bracket based thing. Winners from each rooms race eachother, losers from each room race eachother? That being said I can share my tune with you if you would want try to it. (Still work in progress) and also could I tune for a team and race? It's probably stated in the op but I'm on my phone and can't navigate all that well. Still need a partner

Yes, if we do get enough for two rooms, we will do something so the better drivers are in one room. I was thinking that the points in one room were worth slightly more than the points in another room, so drivers moved up and down and balanced.

And yes, you can tune and drive. Oshawa is doing it.

Sorry Vol but I deleted your message. Can we add the Adjustable LSD for tuning?

When you RM the car, it doesn't come with an adjustable LSD? I thought it did, so I had been saying that yes one could.

If it doesn't... that is interesting. I personally don't mind if you add the adjustable LSD. Even if I did, it isn't something I can easily police.

Are there any strong, overwhelming objections from anyone to adding the adjustable LSD?

As long as the power output and minimum weight is the same, I don't mind what people change to the car. I don't want people to add parts and limit it down to the same HP, though. That changes the torque curve, and completely changes the car.

I assumed that chassis reinforcement wasn't an option for RM'ed cars. That may not be a safe assumption either. Again, I don't mind if people want to do that. If there are strong, overwhelming objections, then perhaps not.

As long as the parts don't add HP/Torque I don't see an issue, you can always limit the room based on HP anyway :)

Zeromisfit and Wolfsatz, you two want to drive together, or you guys want to bring in other teammates?

Hill, Turbo, Random, and Joe, you guys need a tune? Zeromisfits, Owens, and Jahgee don't have teams, yet, if you are interested. You are welcome to find a tuner somewhere else or try to tune on your own.
