As far as I know it is 👍

Been meaning to mention a Parity idea I had to Vol. Stems from my oil change debacle last week.

If you max out on success ballast, start dropping PP. It was quite effective for me the first two races. Ballast and less horse power.

Yes, still on for tonight. Though, I haven't run any laps, so I don't know what sort of lap times we are looking at.

I will be trying out a double screen set up tonight. Got my regular tv, and to the right a 25 inch monitor. Lets me see the mirror and a bunch more road. Go team vol and goat!

Hey, I'm really sorry I didn't make it tonight. Real life stuff got in the way. I'm hoping to make next Tuesday though.

might have to call a penalty on myself :(

Last race, lap 2 at 1:48.043 spooble and I were coming down the back straight, I got a small jump inside on him under braking. I tried to stay inside to leave him room, but I went four wheels off.

My apologies.

What a great night of close racing, ranks right up there for me 👍

I think if you watch any actual races at Nurb, they're a little more liberal about the track limits on a regular basis than we were on an especially wide trip through a section. I know I went through the grass a couple of times; I touched the grass on the outside and I really had no choice where I was going after that. I was lucky to keep it going the right direction.

Had a blast tonight. Have to say the ballast sure makes it interesting on the third race. I think one tweak would be to make a win get a bigger amount than what we currently have. My idea would be everyone starts each night with no ballast then the weight goes:

1st +100
2nd +70
3rd +50
4th +30
5th +10

The reason I think this is the way it is if someone wins they only get slowed a little in comparison to 2nd. What I found tonight was 50k was .5 second so this would tighten the racing up more if that's what you want. Also you could end up at max ballast for the third race this way. Just a thought.

On next season, I heard Vol say something about parity racing. I personally would rather see this series continue and add more cars to the mix. I did some testing and currently have the DC5 Integra so it's equal with this month's car and almost have the Roadster TC figured out too. I took each car to the tracks we are using this month and did quite a few laps at them till they were as equal as I could get them. I averaged the lap times from all 4 tracks for each car and got the DC5 and the S15 to average within .05 of a second. I think if we promote to the Snails a little more we could get a few more teams and tuners. Really enjoying this series so I'd like to see it continue.

I agree, but I think we should also do a second qualifying session after the first race. We planned to do this originally, but I think I talked Vol out of it by saying it would make the night too long, but that's definitely not the case. Maybe we could also limit the first race's top five finishers to only half of the second qualifying session?

Other than making a huge mistake following turbo into turn 1 in the last race, this was some of the best racing I've been in. Where the heck are the other snails? Doing shuffle or something?

Got to hate it when real life get's in the way :( Missed you Random, hope you can make it next week 👍

I think this is worth a shot, although I was in close racing all night long with the current system. Having the winner receive a larger penalty could level the field quicker.

I'd also hate to see this series morph back to the Parity series. Driving a tuned car is fun 👍 I can't tune period, but I sure like driving one :) Seems Hill's done a bunch of homework and come up with some good options 👍

Absolutely, it was an awesome night of racing, the battles with you, spooble and dabney were epic (I hate using that word, but it was).

We need to do this, because they're missing out, big time :)

Epic is the right word. Remember lap 5 of the last race where 6 of us went into that sharp right hander? Not single file but 2 wide bumper to bumper without issue. I have pictures!

👍 Oh yeah, awesomenosity.

Post them please :)

I do want to do this again, but I figure November and December are going to be busy months where people aren't going to want to really commit. So I'm thinking of just putting this off until January.

I will say that the parity racing that we used produced much more varied results. One couldn't easily predict the winner of every race. Last night, it was very easy to say that Hill and Dabney would podium all three races. I expected Turbo and Cheeb to podium at least once. No offense, but I didn't expect Spooble or Chuthulu to podium at all, and I knew I wouldn't even get a top five finish. Hell, I didn't even really participate in the first two races.

Not really related, but... because I'm so slow, Sunday and Tuesday nights have really become soul crushing. I haven't even bothered to log in and look at the lap times, but to the fast drivers, think of this... how slow are you going with ballast? My fastest lap last night, with draft, was still over 1:37. Since I quickly fall out of the draft, my typical lap times were 1:38-1:39s.

We only have four teams running, but you have all four teams in those pictures. That is awesome.

Hey there BeRandom and Spooble. I have sent you a PM with the new and improved set up. I spent a few hours this week testing so it must be better, right? :scared: It includes a trans set up that was tested using GT5 Speed Test. Please give me some feedback and I can adjust for you. Top speed also needs to be adjusted for drafting.

No illusions of keeping up with Hillracing or Dabneyd, but we will have fun trying!

This looks like a lot of fun. I'd be interested in driving for the next season.

It is! Last week was some of the closest action going.

There might be a spot on one of the constructors teams, you could race the last race of the season if you'd like. Vol, will be able to confirm.

That's the race tomorrow at Daytona? Sure, if there's a spot I'll jump right in.

Yes, please join us.

If you can get up with one of the other teams that is missing a driver, than use their color. If not, then please run in white. I'll tweak things a bit so you don't spoil the point race.

To everyone:

Tonight will be 10 laps at Daytona Road.

Next week will be a down week, and I'll run the old parity evening for anyone that wants to show up. I'll post more details later this week.

As to November, will there be enough interest to do this again through November? It would be November 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th.

To make things more interesting, Hill has been testing the Integra RM and MX-5 TC to get them on par with the Silvia RM. So teams would have a choice (though both team members will run the same car). I am sure it won't be perfect, and Hill has some concerns, so it would take some tweaking, everyone would need to be patient if we find that one of the cars just runs away with the series.

Also, I think we are going to tweak the ballast. We will go from 10-20-30-40-50 to probably more like 10-20-35-50-70. Mind you, that will be for the S15. The other cars might be slightly different since they weigh a bit less.

Cool. I started the Le Mans 24hr on my primary account last night so, if it's okay, I'll run tonight only from my secondary account (AP1_Driver). I'll send the FR to the D2 lounge shortly. I'm not sure which teams are missing a driver, so I'll PM all of the tuners to see if a driver is needed.

Good to have you, AP1. I see you're in Atlanta. Did you happen to make it to Petit this past weekend?

Unfortunately I did not... The racing came to me and I ended up being out of town. In fact my s2000 club made a point of going, but it didn't work out for me. Did you happen to go? I'm not sure where Easley is, but parts of SC are closer to here than parts of Georgia... 👍

Yep. Me and the wife camped at turn 5 Thursday to Sunday. It was a blast!

That is awesome, man. I REALLY wish I could've been there.

All, I picked up the tune from Oshawa-Joe and have Bob breaking in the car now. I'll be there tonight in white on bronze #55, unless I can acquire a team color in the meantime.

Looking forward to it!

Hey AP1, I got your PM. My team is down a driver, so send me a FR and I'll get you a Matte Light Blue paint chip. I can send you the tune Oshawa-Joe gave me.

Done! 👍

Which tires are we running? I haven't been able to find that anywhere...
