Anyone have any tips for IC-4, the double hairpin in the Nissan Fairlady Z? I can't seem to come within .4 seconds of gold no matter what.
It's certainly a tricky one, I had a head start, having plenty of practice of that exact combo from GT academy.
First off, make sure traction control is off, it comes turns itself on for every test, and I often forgot to get rid of it, its of particular hindrance for this test.
The first corner needs to be attacked, forget smooth, if you don't attack the car just wants to understeer through the corner. An aggressive turn in is should have the car just on the point of oversteer, and this is exactly where you want to keep it, make sure you are as far right as possible on entry, this corner is all about using all of the track on more. A late apex means a late turn in, this ensures you an get on the power nice and early, the care needs to be under control at this point, it is easy to get a little oversteer on exit and loose a lot of speed.
The second corner also requires a late apex, hugging the kerb on the inside during the middle phase of the corner, and sitting off it on entry, a slight bit of oversteer can help bring the car round, as it is a tight corner. Just remember to have the oversteer well under control by the apex so you can get early on the power.
The last corner requires yu to sit of the apex as late as possible and only fully commit to the throttle when you are certain you will not have to lift off even slightly on the apex.
Hopefully these words will help, although I appreciate its hard to convey driving with words at times. Just remember, that to get the most out of this car, you need to be very aggressive on turn in, and extremely smooth on exit, more so than most other cars.
