Sony Gamescom press - GT6 appearance

I'd like to hear more about this, because it sounds a little bit fishy.

Pretty much anything could be used for visual tests. That's just display software. Sure, GT5/6 looks really nice, but when computing power isn't a problem (it's not like an manufacturing R&D department is only going to be able to afford one PS3) you can probably do as well with anything else. And they're still going to have to build physical clay models and the like, because having it on a computer screen just isn't the same as the real thing.

Simulation is more interesting, and if they can just plug in numbers to GT and get meaningful results out of it that's great. I'm dubious though when so many of the sliders in GT5 have arbitrary values rather than real world numbers, and the GT5 physics systems have known non-trivial flaws.

I'd like them to go into a lot more detail before I'd take those statements as anything more than marketing.
Is nothing new:

Wait, did I miss it or was Driveclub not featured in this?

I only heard it being mentioned once but I don't think it had its own time on the stage. But I also paused the feed for a while to watch the GT6 video again, so I might have missed something.

Most likely to not be a track, but a photomode location, it is the city of Ronda, in Spain

Ronda is a new track creator scene. Or so they said at the 15th anniversary presentation anyway...

Oh I just thought, what if there's weather change in original tracks? I would love to sit in a comfy car in rainy Trial Mountain in an online lobby, that would be so cosy.

That's actually happened 2 times. Once with a Corvette C7, now a premo Stratos.

It happened all the time in GT5 trailers.

Anyway, pretty cool trailer. The wide variety of cars showcased was nice. Apricot Hill at night was the highlight for me.

Great to see so many new cars as well as Aprocot Hill and Brands Hatch. Both are great tracks.

Not a fan of concept cars, ie road cars that don't actually exist, hopefully they'll be kept to the minimum.

One thing I noticed in the trailer was this:

This is an Audi R8 LMS (probably ultra), but it's not in the Bilstein colours of the Phoenix car we have already. Something new? Blue got me thinking it's a Sainteloc car, but I don;t think it matches. The blue is not the right shade for the PS Vita liveried Phoenix car either.

Strange that the car seemed to actually be DRIVING in a photomode location. PD is confusing...

As has been pointed out already (two months ago), there are rumble strips around that area. So it can either be a Photo Travel location and a "Course Maker" map or only apart of the "Course Maker" map.

In the GT5 special events, isn't one of them where you have to drive from location to location? I almost suspect they've made cutscenes when you end a leg, showing the car arriving at a photo location, which you then go to take a picture of and now we're seeing that cutscene.

In the same trailer?
Really excited about Brands Hatch being in the game, as I actually live about 30mins away from there and we go there maybe twice a year.

lol. 387 people viewing this thread xD

Anyways, am I the only one curious about the Cizeta with the vinyl? That's not a gamestop pre-order like the Viper and Focus so how could that have a special paint? Livery editor? I hope :3

Don't forget the press shots that show the 300SL driving through Kyoto.

Also remember this? At 1:00 notice where the cars are driving.

Probably a pre-order car for somewhere else.

Unless you stay there for six months each time you should be ashamed of yourself ;)

Actually, that is the Bilstein Audi R8 LMS Ultra. You can just barely spot the yellow.

That is the Bilstein Phoenix car, it looks like this from the back:

you can just see the yellow on the C-pillar
EDIT - RACECAR got there before me :)

Really, am I missing something here? In the Silverstone conference they said Andalucia was a track editor location and showed an arial image of it, clearly showing the bridge area.

Why the confusion about a car driving on that bridge?
