Sony Gamescom press - GT6 appearance

Cars are developed in simulators these days and they get pretty precise results. Even if they don't go on production. I think it's part of the process.

What I mean is if the car in GT6 doesn't exist in real life then what are you simulating? Just a fictional, theoretical car.

Real concept cars I'm ok with. Concept cars created only for GT6, especially things like the Nike One and now seemingly Nike Two that are only even theoretically possible I don't care for.

I'm just giving my opinion, a concept car that doesn't exist outside of Gran Turismo is basically a fictional car, which I'm not interested in and I would rather PD didn't spend time on.
Didn't you say that like, three times already?

If they put all those hyper concept cars into one category I'd be ok with that. As long as they threw that ugly Citreon GT in with them.

Look no further than the X cars; The X2010 and the X2011.

PD has always had a thing for all sorts of concept cars, working/real or not.

They always make fantasy cars too like the NSX-R LM Road Car/Race car, the original Touring Cars, etc.

Atleast they're making the things in collaboration with actual car manufacturers so they're more or less doing this as a testing ground for future design languages and mechanics from those manufacturers in the real world.

Also: Moar cars :D

Do you think we'll learn more at gamescom about GT6? Because, ok, new cars and tracks are shown usually in trailers, but i would want to know about livery editor, track editor, GT mode, you know...

People were questioning my opinion, is it a problem for me to counter them with further thoughts?

People saying bad stuff about concept cars should think a little:

Was I just meant to ignore that? Also as others have pointed out I'm not the only one with a negative opinion of them but apparently I'm the only one being directly picked up on it.

Kazunori himself is there so I expect interviews etc to be conducted as usual, we will learn more.

I'm putting my money on some sort of livery editor, as some of the cars shown with some sort of livery weren't included in the annivesary edition. We shall know once the GT site updates!

Also, you may not heard the announcement, where GT engine is used from the manufacturers to visualize and test the named concepts. They are simulated with the GT engine. What more approval can one *game* get?

I'd like to hear more about this, because it sounds a little bit fishy.

Pretty much anything could be used for visual tests. That's just display software. Sure, GT5/6 looks really nice, but when computing power isn't a problem (it's not like an manufacturing R&D department is only going to be able to afford one PS3) you can probably do as well with anything else. And they're still going to have to build physical clay models and the like, because having it on a computer screen just isn't the same as the real thing.

Simulation is more interesting, and if they can just plug in numbers to GT and get meaningful results out of it that's great. I'm dubious though when so many of the sliders in GT5 have arbitrary values rather than real world numbers, and the GT5 physics systems have known non-trivial flaws.

I'd like them to go into a lot more detail before I'd take those statements as anything more than marketing.

Pleased to see them finally bringing back a classic original GT circuit. Adding time change and possible variable weather conditions is another bonus.

I believe it's the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car yet seen in GT5

They're on about the yellow Stratos driving through Ronda before that shot.

Sleep, I need. I feel used by watching 50% of games that I won't be contemplating buying as I wait for more GT6 news. Sony has gotten to know how this kind of psychology works. They should have very well gotten Kaz to do a presentation. Dang nabbit.

We're going to have to probably wait till tomorrow at the earliest to hear more news about GT6. We'll see though. I have to go urinate as I've been waiting to see something else I'm interested in like GTA V at least.

Or Rome circuit... My heart is going to explode!!!

Oh yeah, and doing the big jump at Seattle at night :embarrassed:
I want Smokey Mountain from GT3 back :(
I really wish I watched this trailer when it was live, I didn't get the full experience

If they're bringing back the Nike One I'm expecting the Model T and Motor Carriage as well... This game is gonna be everything I wanted!

Hey, do you imagine all tracks have day/night? Maybe PD's quantum leap is MONSTER QUANTUM LEAP!!! At the moment, PD is every where, i can't get them out of my mind, maybe I won't sleep today...
