Won by 7 laps in a Tomahawk X. 1 pit stop with fuel map at 6 and staying in 7th gear. The car is still op even with rain while on hard tires.
Got caught out on slicks last night too. Literally zero traction, struggled to get above 15 MPH. 6:30 ish lap time…. PainfulDid this last night in the NSX GT500. The weather was not kind to me and I got caught out for about 1.5 laps total in the wet while on slicks. That was painful. Was passing the Alfa through a turn as he went wide, so I took the inside... he came back across and hit me and you'd think my car was made of rubber as I was easily pushed off the track and crashed while he drove away. That **** gets really annoying. The AI is impervious to contact and penalties.
Anyway, won the race by ~16 seconds to the Aston on dead IMs as the track had dried up but if I pit for slicks I'd have been passed easy.
I'll do it again for sure, especially since we get paid every time unlike the missions (what a novel concept!).
I think we should all know this by now.he came back across and hit me and you'd think my car was made of rubber as I was easily pushed off the track and crashed while he drove away.
It’s perfectly doable with road cars but it’s no big advantage without the long straights of Le Mans.Anyone tried this in a supped up road car yet ?
Road car seems to dominate leman 30min .
Not sure if this track and settings would tho 🤔
No, you are not the only one. I also use the full wets. On inters you don't have any grip at all. Most seems to use Interns for rain. To be honest i prefer Wet tires because it is quite huge rain in this event I am actually faster on wets than on interns. Am I the only one?
I tried once using Interns in this rain and bearly won this race. Wets give you huge advantage in my opinion. The trickiest part is judgin when come back to racing slicks beacuse it takes some time to get dry.No, you are not the only one. I also use the full wets. On inters you don't have any grip at all.
I also tried it once, and it was with light rain. Even then with inters i had no grip at all. I was using the CLK-LMI tried once using Interns in this rain and bearly won this race. Yes I am aware, but he was way off line going through a turn. I was already passed him; his front fender hit my door. Anyway, I digress.I think we should all know this by now.
But the AI act like Gollum from LOTR, the racing line is their Precious and they will KILL you if you touch it.
So when near the AI, just say off the racing line, its faster overall, they dont tend to move over fro blue flags unless its on a straight and even then I personally pass them off the racing line when they get blue flags as sometimes they just flat out ignore them.
Try racing with this.Yes I am aware, but he was way off line going through a turn. I was already passed him; his front fender hit my door. Anyway, I digress.
Sometimes you can't pass them on the straight. That NSX isn't great on the straights, or the Porsche, or Alfa, or Evo, etc., etc., etc. If you're in the Alfa, passing the Viper on the straight is tough, you rely on the turns to make up the time.
Worst is on a race like this where there is a dry line and wet everywhere else. You go on the wet-line with slicks and it's crash time anyway.
I've been doing the same thing once there is a dry line. I take the wet parts of the straights, seems to help but I'm not sure how muchWon with stock NSX GT500. Came in on last lap with large lead to be safe and get off warn intermediate tires. One monsoon and one storm during race so 4 pits required.
I was extending life of intermediate tires by driving off the racing line in the wet areas when possible. I assume this works but not really sure.
The AI's "ability" to drive on ridiculously highly worn tires baffles my mind. I had this same issue on the endurance mission races. The Merc was catching up to me something fierce on the last five minutes; thankfully I ended up winning anyway. I went back and watched bits of the replay and he was on RMs that were over half gone. Not as bad as that Ford, but pretty bad. Yet, he was making up time on me with RHs where I had like 10% gone.Try racing with this.
An AI that stays on slicks even during monsoon rain and stays out even when out of fuel.
Last thing you want is to have an AI doing 80km/h at the top of Eau Rouge on the racing line as you wont see them until you're right on top of them, not to mention any of the other sweeping corners.

Ditto on driving the wet line on the Inters when applicable. No real idea if it helps, but I do it anyway.Won with stock NSX GT500. Came in on last lap with large lead to be safe and get off warn intermediate tires. One monsoon and one storm during race so 4 pits required.

I lost a ton of time on pit entry road in the wet. Car just wouldn’t grip and could only go a few mph even with TC on. Took forever to get in pits.
It's Spa, ofc it rainsI'm all for variable weather, but this is redamndiculous. It rains EVERY TIME I attempt this race. And it always seems to be at night, and is VERY difficult to see the dry driving line (after the rain stops). And in the two full attempts I've attempted, the rain would always come back for encores right after I switch back to slicks. The RADAR seems pretty useless to me, other than to tell me its raining when I already know it's raining. I've used a Gr 3 car twice (with supercharger) and my current best is 8th place. AI is on the hardest setting.
I'd prefer not using a "cheater" car but this weather system is a ****ing joke. Add in the AI drives flawlessly in the rain (I haven't seen them put a tire wrong yet) and this is getting quite frustrating on my end.
because racing at night in the dark is NOT fun, not at all. 10% to 20% rain or night racing OK, but no moreCan't really see why you would want to use the Tomahawk for a timed race? I use it in Tokyo because, that way, I can do 3 races in one hour instead of 2 with an other car. But one hour in Spa with the Tomahawk takes exactly as long as one hour in any other car, so why would you take away everything that is fun about this race?
I used the Porsche Living Legend since I bought it just a few days before the update and I wanted to test it out. I reduced the power and left the rest stock. First time that I did the race, I won with one lap because the next 5 cars went in the pit when I was on the last lap. This is the first time that I actually enjoyed the racing in GT7. All the other races felt 'generic' but this race with the dynamic weather and time is what I hoped and expected from all the races in GT7.
