Won by 7 laps in a Tomahawk X. 1 pit stop with fuel map at 6 and staying in 7th gear. The car is still op even with rain while on hard tires.

BRZ GT300

3 stop. RH/RM/RH/RM.

Started to rain with 18 minutes to go but was very light and lasted around 4/5 minutes so was able to stay on the RH comfortably and saved some fuel. Final pit stop around 10 minutes to go and went RM with fuel mode 1 to the end. Won by around 55 seconds.

Here is a good strat.

Dont get distracted.
No rain this entire race, was expecting rain to come after daybreak.
So several laps before hand I set my fuel map to 1 as I was 25 seconds behind the Port and as soon as I did that I switched my MFD to the radar.
Well I had about 3 laps left(based on time) and only 1.7laps worth of fuel.
I extended that fuel and won.

Ferrari 330 P4 FTW 😎

Opening 6 laps RH on FM1, switched to wets because it was torrential through the night, back to hards for a few laps, back to wets for another downpour, closed up the final 5 laps on mediums

It was a bit of a handful lol, plenty of fun though

I have up after 15 minutes - first it went dark, then it rained, put IMs on but not enough to stop spin-out! It was really heavy rain.
Will try again when I have a spare hour - looks like fun (apart from dark!!!)

Anyone tried this in a supped up road car yet ?

Road car seems to dominate leman 30min .
Not sure if this track and settings would tho 🤔

Did this last night in the NSX GT500. The weather was not kind to me and I got caught out for about 1.5 laps total in the wet while on slicks. That was painful. Was passing the Alfa through a turn as he went wide, so I took the inside... he came back across and hit me and you'd think my car was made of rubber as I was easily pushed off the track and crashed while he drove away. That **** gets really annoying. The AI is impervious to contact and penalties.

Anyway, won the race by ~16 seconds to the Aston on dead IMs as the track had dried up but if I pit for slicks I'd have been passed easy.

I'll do it again for sure, especially since we get paid every time unlike the missions (what a novel concept!).

Got caught out on slicks last night too. Literally zero traction, struggled to get above 15 MPH. 6:30 ish lap time…. Painful

I think we should all know this by now.
But the AI act like Gollum from LOTR, the racing line is their Precious and they will KILL you if you touch it.

So when near the AI, just say off the racing line, its faster overall, they dont tend to move over fro blue flags unless its on a straight and even then I personally pass them off the racing line when they get blue flags as sometimes they just flat out ignore them.

BRZ GT300....

Easy enough at FM1, this car is unreal, I'm a Toyota guy and this blew the Supra GR3 away.

One tip is to always have the rain radar on, it really helps as it gives you half a lap or so warning on if it'll rain, I used it to perfection to pit for inters before the rain hit, ended up about 1 minute in front because of that.

Most seems to use Interns for rain. To be honest i prefer Wet tires because it is quite huge rain in this event I am actually faster on wets than on interns. Am I the only one?

It’s perfectly doable with road cars but it’s no big advantage without the long straights of Le Mans.

787B, with a 799 tune
Racing hards until lap 11
FM6 cause I didn't now any better

light rain? and night time till around 14, then some daylight, then rain, heavier, around 17 thru 20 and here, I started to fiddle with the fuel map, ending up at FM1 on the last 3 laps

I pitted twice, once at 14 for IMWs, then after 20 for RH again.

Lapped everyone once, except 2cd place the 458 GT3 and he was a minute down.

Couple twitchy moments, no doubt, but even at a solid hour, it didn't feel like work. I thought it was awesome fun, even on controller.

No, you are not the only one. I also use the full wets. On inters you don't have any grip at all.

I tried once using Interns in this rain and bearly won this race. Wets give you huge advantage in my opinion. The trickiest part is judgin when come back to racing slicks beacuse it takes some time to get dry.

I also tried it once, and it was with light rain. Even then with inters i had no grip at all. I was using the CLK-LM

Yes I am aware, but he was way off line going through a turn. I was already passed him; his front fender hit my door. Anyway, I digress.

Sometimes you can't pass them on the straight. That NSX isn't great on the straights, or the Porsche, or Alfa, or Evo, etc., etc., etc. If you're in the Alfa, passing the Viper on the straight is tough, you rely on the turns to make up the time.

Worst is on a race like this where there is a dry line and wet everywhere else. You go on the wet-line with slicks and it's crash time anyway.

Try racing with this.
An AI that stays on slicks even during monsoon rain and stays out even when out of fuel.
Last thing you want is to have an AI doing 80km/h at the top of Eau Rouge on the racing line as you wont see them until you're right on top of them, not to mention any of the other sweeping corners.

Put hard and then rain is coming put wet as rain can be heavy, then you should be first then when the others pit for slick you can put hard again and the same for wet again, wet can manage drying track until they are mid red (used)

Win by 7 laps in Tomahawk. Yes, I don't have scruples, I don't care, it's their problem they're not fixing this glitch. I actually hated Tomahawk for a long time, now I'm getting more and more fond of it.

Won with stock NSX GT500. Came in on last lap with large lead to be safe and get off warn intermediate tires. One monsoon and one storm during race so 4 pits required.

I was extending life of intermediate tires by driving off the racing line in the wet areas when possible. I assume this works but not really sure.

I lost a ton of time on pit entry road in the wet. Car just wouldn’t grip and could only go a few mph even with TC on. Took forever to get in pits.

I've been doing the same thing once there is a dry line. I take the wet parts of the straights, seems to help but I'm not sure how much

The AI's "ability" to drive on ridiculously highly worn tires baffles my mind. I had this same issue on the endurance mission races. The Merc was catching up to me something fierce on the last five minutes; thankfully I ended up winning anyway. I went back and watched bits of the replay and he was on RMs that were over half gone. Not as bad as that Ford, but pretty bad. Yet, he was making up time on me with RHs where I had like 10% gone.

I mean, it's obviously AI so they can cheat. Something I've come to accept in GT games. Just like their virtual invincibility.

Ditto on driving the wet line on the Inters when applicable. No real idea if it helps, but I do it anyway.

IRL you drive off dry line into wet part to cool down you racing tires via water that runs trough tread grooves. Wets and inters have lower temp-range, if they overheat they can lose traction and wear faster.

Tires wear during heavy braking, high-g cornerning and corner exit. Driving straight is almost non-destructive to tire, no matter if its on dry or wet surface.

GT7 seems to have good interpretation of tire wear but I really doubt that temperature is also simulated, so moving to wet parts on straight can have zero effect on tires life.

I'm all for variable weather, but this is redamndiculous. It rains EVERY TIME I attempt this race. And it always seems to be at night, and is VERY difficult to see the dry driving line (after the rain stops). And in the two full attempts I've attempted, the rain would always come back for encores right after I switch back to slicks. The RADAR seems pretty useless to me, other than to tell me its raining when I already know it's raining. I've used a Gr 3 car twice (with supercharger) and my current best is 8th place. AI is on the hardest setting.

I'd prefer not using a "cheater" car but this weather system is a ****ing joke. Add in the AI drives flawlessly in the rain (I haven't seen them put a tire wrong yet) and this is getting quite frustrating on my end.

It's Spa, ofc it rains :)

Can't really see why you would want to use the Tomahawk for a timed race? I use it in Tokyo because, that way, I can do 3 races in one hour instead of 2 with an other car. But one hour in Spa with the Tomahawk takes exactly as long as one hour in any other car, so why would you take away everything that is fun about this race?

I used the Porsche Living Legend since I bought it just a few days before the update and I wanted to test it out. I reduced the power and left the rest stock. First time that I did the race, I won with one lap because the next 5 cars went in the pit when I was on the last lap. This is the first time that I actually enjoyed the racing in GT7. All the other races felt 'generic' but this race with the dynamic weather and time is what I hoped and expected from all the races in GT7.

Still haven’t done this yet! Not had the time to sit down and do it! I did buy the Gr.3 Viper tonight so may try that instead of my 458!!

because racing at night in the dark is NOT fun, not at all. 10% to 20% rain or night racing OK, but no more
if this were a decent race, (clear day) I would run it with a all types of cars, THAT would be fun, a lot of fun
tomahawk is an easy money grind, 595pp IM tire tune. one pitstop no fuel (on lean) sandbag the last lap,
dont push IM tires will hydroplane, you will still be 3 or 4 laps ahead of the AI, and $1,500,000 richer

Did it with a detuned McLaren F1 GTR. Too easy. Started on RM and you can use them on a full stint until you get out if gas with little management and taking care of them and lapping consistently. When pitted for IM I was 1 minute ahead. The rain stint was chaotic with 4-5 spins... Even lose 30s in one lap in several spinnings, but the AI didn't catch up entirely. Dry line started to form and didn't pit until the IM were really worn, some AI changed for drys but radar showed heavy rain in 3-5 minutes, so stayed 1 more lap to pit for Wets until the end. 2 more spins on this final stints when lapping some AI that seems to be the owner of the dryline and battled me ignoring the blue flags.
