It’s changed the order of cars. Plus, conditions are varying quite a lot these past few races.
I was in the lead by 1 minute with ten minutes left. I pass the finish line and weather changes to purple. I’m stuck on RMs. I see AI pitting.
I crawl on the downhills. AI catch up and blow past me. Dropped to 15th at the end of the lap. Conditions go back to clear and with four minutes remain8ng, I’m beginning to get pace back. Pass a couple cars and one pits on the last lap. At least the racing hasn’t been stale.

Absolutely botched my first attempt. Rain at Lap 10, switched to full wets and wore them down till the track dried up, I pitted for RS to regain time as the dry line was good to go, didn't notice another front of rain moving in as I spent so much time focusing on the track. Came out of the pits on RS in torrential rain. I just parked the car off to the side and gave up.

Lesson learnt 🤣

Also, running this on professional with the stock BRZ GT300 was a good challenge.

I did this race two times.
The first time was with the RX-Vision with a combination of maps 3, 4, 5 & 6.
I screwed up early on saw a band of rain, thought it would turn out to be heavy.
I lost on at one, ended up dropping down the order, finished 14th.

Did it with the BRZ GT300 and won it, was driving when I noticed it started to rain(had MFD on fuel map) saw the weather radar, big big rain cell.
Since I was on the back straight at the time, I drove into pit, put on wets,
Clawed my way up to first.

Then it started to dry up later on.
I had 3 laps of fuel left and my wets were gone. was thinking, I will go for 3 more laps then I will switch to wets
But understeered on the S bends before the back straight.
The AI were 1.5 seconds away that this point.
Switched over to the radar noticed another rain cell approaching.
I took a gamble and went for Wets, as if I went for inters all it would take is a few dark blue spots to put me into the wall.
My gamble paid off, since it was 16min left which is about 8 laps of fuel, I decided to add 10 laps and use fuel map 1 so I could gain back any time lost and then some.
The AI also enter at the same time, they switch to slicks which was a bullet to the head for them.

The BRZ GT300 makes it rather easy to win as its an easy to drive car in the wet or dry.

Did it in 917 living legend. Whole race on map 6 with one lap on RH in heavy rain (lost 50s) still ended up 30s in front.
I tried it with this car, it was too thirsty even on map 6.
Could've been my setup, though.
But I was pitting at the end of lap 6 and not gaining any real ground.

I’ve had a couple of tries at this. First with the group 2 NSX GT500. I was doing pretty well, on a 2 stop, but it all went wrong when the second lot of rain came.

Then used the yellow Pennzoil group 3 with medium RPM turbo at around 700BHP. Pretty fast but compared to the NSX it feels heavy and slow in corners. Again, did ok but around 10 minutes before the end I got the tyres wrong and I couldn’t even keep it on the track.

The weather system needs work. There’s still no forecast (unless I’m missing something obvious?) and the radar during the race doesn’t give enough info to be able to actually implement any kind of genuine strategy. Even zoomed right out, you still only see a localised area and it’s often too late to make a good decision. We can predict what’s about to happen within the next lap or so, but no further.

Some sort of proper radar pre-race, over a much larger area, with simulated prediction for the next few hours, would definitely make dynamic weather more approachable as a feature.

It doesn’t help that intermediates don’t last very long, either.

Until that point I’d rather stick with Sardegna in the NSX. At least I know I’m not going to get caught out that way.

Tried again today, went RH/IM/IM but in hindsight I should have switched to the RM or RS for the last part of the race because I was really struggling to keep it on track towards the end. I pitted on lap 8 and 17 and kept it in fuel map 2 for most of the race.

One infuriating thing was coming up on a lapped AI that was on slicks on the final two laps. They would get the blue flag, slow right down and let me by, then immediately repass me since they were on the right tires, this continued until it finally tapped me in the rear quater and spun me into the gravel.

Despite that I still won by 30 seconds from 2nd place and lapped everyone else, the Bishop AI in the Ferrari was really quick. I went into the gravel twice, and got a 1 second penalty for track limits. Yet I still got the clean race bonus.

This is a great race for practicing in mixed conditions. I used the gr3 911 with default settings on hard difficulty.

25 laps and My weirdest race so far

Lap 21 monsoon rain for 2 laps, Ai was minimum so confused then i am was. Half the Ai was all over the course but not on the tarmac.

Really weird 🤣

It’s no that easy on hard difficulty. With Gr.3 Car.
Leader time low 2:17 , rain intensity is unpredictable.
Plus the AI are stones in the track, you can’t move them no Mather what, but then the minimum contact from them is a certain crash.

Agree, they try always to kill you no metter you overtake them or lap them. AI have always a Knive between there theeth.

I play most of the time on normal difficult because the AI get not so much quicker on hard difficult but way more agressive and for such races i go online 🤣

This is another typical GT thing. If the AI hits me, I go flying; if I hit the AI, I go flying.

Never understood that. They can push us around like they're in a dump truck and there is really nothing we can do about it.

Used the CLK-LM, put Wets on around lap 9, wore them done to nothing, pit 2 put some fresh wets on,lapped the field twice except 1 car,and got the CRB even though i crashed hard once and went off track a couple of times.
Nice change from the tommyhawk

25 laps, lapped the whole field 3 times…. 787B detuned of course, started on RH, pitted about lap 12 for full wets then stayed on them right till the end. Surprisingly easy to drive when the wet tyres are completely worn out… full red. 🤣🤣🤣

Hi - how are you getting the 787 below 800, are you adding ballast or power restriction. I can get it to around 812 with RH and detuning ECU but can't get it any lower... thanks

How often do you find the game 'throws' a random change to the weather.

I really LOVE this race and have done it about seven/eight times today, usually the rainfall begins on Lap 6 but I noticed a couple of times it waited until Lap 8, it was no problem as I always change to Inters end of Lap 5 and then if it rains I change to full the following lap or if not wait till it goes heavy rain end of Lap 7.

Currently my strategy using the Pennzoil GTR-500 with everything equipped and racing medium tires the following strategy unfolds.

Lap 1 - 5 Racing Mediums
Lap 6 - 12 Racing Inters/Full Wets depending on the intensity of the rain.
Lap 12- 18 Racing Mediums
Lap 18 - EOR Racing Mediums.

This is a really good 1hr race, I don't normally like these sorts of events but I think the fact they put it on Spa is what makes it so enjoyable, with the night stint and rain it really keeps you on your limits when driving.

Would be nice if they put a similar race on LeMans with the PP800 limit, I'd really love an hour road car/Gr3 race there.

So, managed a win with Honda NSX GT500, no tuning.

Lap 1 - 7 RH
Lap 8 - 15 Wet
Lap 15 - End Wet

2 rain storms but dried up for last 4 laps. Had a big lead going into last 2 laps but wets fell off a cliff and only won by 1 sec after some very defensive driving up to the last chicane. Given the same weather I'd probably fit inters at the last stop and hope they lasted a bit better.

*Edited for the schoolboy error

Won with the 911 rsr stock. Did it on easy and it was, well, easy. Too easy. Even doing many mistakes. I wish there was no rain. Won’t be my preferred choice for grinding if I ever need to grind.

The Nissan NSX? 🤔😂 Guessing you mean the Epson gr2. Great car for the 800 events.

nothing weird about the tune, standard turbo. I think it handles really stable, I don’t use Traction Control and have had no scary moments even in the wet.

1st try won using NISMO GT500, started on hards, pitted for inters around 25 min into race and then switched back to hards last 15 minutes. Mostly ran on fuel map 4 or 5 and win race with 1 minute gap to 2nd place.

Played again using the Group 1 Nissan (from legendary cars I think was 2.2m credits). Had to pit often as was very hard to drive on inters once rain got worse( changed to wets) and then switched back to inters with 10 min to go. Fuel not an issue at all, just filled up again during 1st stop after 22 min and ran map 3 or 4 throughout race. Won this race too but with only 18 seconds to spare as extra pit stop and difficult rain handling (no TC using controller) but was fun 🙂 3 million credits in 2 hours so not bad. Loved the rain effects at night when driving, looked awesome

Finished the event with the CLK-LM '98.

Not gonna lie, this thing is a beast. However, I made many mistakes so i could do very much more with my times.

3 stops.
  • Start on Race Hard.
  • Beginning of round 8, switched to Wets.
  • Lap 18 new set of Wets.
Fuel map 1 for me.

Just finished it in the NSX GT500.
RH Tires.
Real easy on fuel this car, FM1 all the time and not strictly short shifting either, got all the way to lap 12 I think before I needed to stop.

Super lucky with weather too, no rain until the morning, and it only lasted a lap and a half.

3 stops in total (RH-IM-RH)
Got CRB too, even with a couple of spins off track.
Sorry for phone pic:

So, did try another Gr3 cars yesterday (as always, completly stock and no tune).
Viper Gr3 is a beast. Had done stable 2:17:xxx in dry conditions with RH, but threw it away multiple times in one lap in rain, even with fuel map 6 (no TC). Given up after 30min.
AMG GT3 is a great drive. Very good traction and fast enough on the straights for mid 2:18:xxx lap times - BUT couldn't test in rain - got my first completly dry attempt yesterday.
Its so much fun to test all the cars in this race AND you get enough credits for it. Will surely continue with this for the next days.

Did it with the Corvette today and man, stay away from the supercharger. The time u gain u will loose it heavy in the rain. Cow on ice looks more gracefull then i did 🤣

Another vote for the BRZ_GT300. Absolute weapon. Fitted the High RPM Turbo, which takes it to just under 800PP with Racing Hards.

Got up to 3rd in a couple of laps and 1st about a lap before the rain came, during the night. Switched to Full Wets - I actually think Inters would have been fine and probably preferable as the Wets went off once the dry line developed around dawn and caused me more headaches - Spins and overall lack of rear traction. I switched back to Hards as soon as I thought it was dry enough and was in 3rd or 4th iirc and it started raining again.

I pitted onto Inters but the rain stopped almost immediately and I needed to get back on Hards - The rest of the field had switched to Softs/Mediums after the main rainstorm so were getting some tasty lap times. Came out of the pits into around 5th or 6th with maybe 10 mins to go on Hards and plenty of fuel. Pushed hard and managed to get back upto 2nd by the final lap. I could see 1st place exiting the final chicane as I arrived into the breaking zone so I had to settle for 2nd. 900K and the CRB made it very worthwhile. Without the needless 2nd pit stop 1st would be VERY doable. Great race and the reward makes the hour 100% worth it. Had such a good time I celebrated with a Scape

So far my strategy has been to slowly chip away at the lead until the rain comes, then I spin a lot, and finish 20th. It's not a great credit earning strategy, but it appears to be highly repeatable.

edit: 90,000 credits for last place by the way, also, CRB seems easy to maintain even if you hit pretty much every piece of Armco around the circuit, so it's 135,000 for an hours work.
