Gr.3 Hyundai, FM3, I've done it twice. Rain varies quite a bit from one race to the next. Pit early for wets or intermediates, don't wait.

I'm running easy difficulty, 2nd time through lapped everyone twice.

CRB is easy. Make sure you get a clean pass on everyone until you're lead car, you don't lose CRB for hitting lapped cars, walls or cutting track.

First race was 8H/7IM/8H
Second race was 7H/7W/4H/5IM

@breeminator What's the tune for it.
Body Height max
Downforce 1000 1800
ECU 75
Ballast 100 -50
Power Restrictor 70
Transmission: Racing 390kph top speed
Turbocharger: High-RPM
everything else as standard, I think, it's 799.20 PP, 518bhp 1050kg
It can probably be tuned to be faster, e.g. increasing the ballast and power, but it's extremely easy to drive as above, and plenty fast enough to win by a big margin.

Didn’t someone say earlier that they had loads of bumps and spins but still got it??
Me probably. Did the race (hard difficulty) in stock 08 Xanavi GTR on RH to get under 800pp. Wanted to make sure of a win first time out with a Gr2, not knowing how strong the AI were going to be. Needn’t have bothered, won by almost a minute, so I think a normal Gr3 car can easily win, the race difficulty is pretty much on a par with the Le Mans Gr4 one - you can win easily but it’s not guaranteed if you make bad/late tyre choices... Fuel mode 1 all the way until it rained, then just a case of reacting to the weather, ended up stopping twice (Hard, Inter, Inter).

Re the CRB thing, I got it despite banging a lot of AI in the rain (and rear-ended them in the dry when they did their usual apex parking antics). I also had a go-slow penalty for ignoring track limits, aquaplaning on inters in the rain, three seconds, I think. But I still got the CRB so I don’t know what that guy you’re responding to did to lose it. I’d be interested to know. I assumed this race was pretty much the same as the wet LM and damp Tokyo ones, with in-race penalties but CRB awarded anyhow at the end. It certainly seems that way to me.

Did 20 minutes on a detuned gr2 lexus. Pitted when it started to rain only to realise I didn’t have IM or Wet tyres 🤦‍♂️

P2 was 1 minute behind and my RM were still holding up. This is an easy way to do it but not much fun. I have the difficulty set to easy if that matters for this race.

I’ll see if there’s a praiano setup for this race.

If anybody is looking for a challenge -> try a full stock Gr3 car. Did it now with my 911 RSR and was fighting hard till the end (no tune, highest difficulty, somewhere at 718pp with hards).
Very exciting race! The Viper in my race was stupidly fast but needed one more stop for fuel. Heavy rain came in the morning, track dried pretty fast the last 10 minutes. Risked a stop for softs and was lucky the viper also pitted for softs. Wouldn't have made the last two laps on the heavy wets.
Neeeed more of these races! Will definitley get my number one grinding race.

Did this twice so far with my 770pp R8 LMS with a turbo on hard.

First time I forgot to check the radar before my 2nd stop and threw slicks back on after the rain...only for there to be a monsoon waiting at pit exit. Barely got the car back to the pits and swapped for full wets right as the radar showed the rain ending. Track was drying pretty quick, so back to the pits AGAIN for inters since it was still too wet for slicks (2nd bar). Thought I could make it to the end on them, but they just couldn't hold on. Even staying off the racing line didn't really help them, and I was basically on gum for the last few laps. Couldn't hold off the front runners and ended up 5th.

2nd time I got my strat perfect. RH until it started raining halfway through the lap, pitted for full wets, then hunkered down for the night with the rain. It stopped around dawn, dry line started forming pretty quick, so pitted just as my rear tires were were completely toast. Didn't see anything on the radar, so gambled on slicks again. On the outlap the radar showed more rain, but it was just the tip of a shower, with nothing behind it. I had spun a few times due to my wets wearing out, so Portilla was right behind me coming out of the pits. Thing is, he put on inters, and after the brief shower, had to pit again for slicks. After that the sun came out, and it was smooth sailing.

Did this with the group 2 2008 GT-R GT500.
Very easy win with all but P2 and P3 lapped twice. Partly due to pace, but mostly due to AI fails with pit stops.

Started with hard tires and fuel mix 6. Had light rain in lap 10. Lost 30secs there due to aquaplaning, but got dry afterwards so no pitstop.
Then a dry period until lap 19, in which I would have had to pit anyway. Took Intermediates and more than enough fuel so I could go mix 1 to the end. 25 laps done and finished.

AI sometimes pitted during drying track and went out with Intermediates, only to pit again the next lap. So they lost some time there.

Yeah the problem with wet races right now is that if it’s a close race you win because they mess the pitstops. The only way to really make it a close race is to mess your own pitstops or be slower and rely on the AI mistakes to win.

The same thing happened in RBR endurance race and Tsukuba to a less extent.

Went with the R92 first and, predictably, leisurely won by a massive margin.

Then went back for another round in something more challenging.

The racing was great on the first stint, but the AI fell apart as they always do with the dynamic weather. This event is still a welcome addition, but you really have to handicap yourself to make it challenging (and there's no way to really know what "challenging" pace actually is until it's over, as the AI may just throw the race by pitting to change tires with a minute left).

The AI in the wet is really slow. Used the new BRZ GT300 with a turbo and some changes in the gearing and fuel economy 1 (short shifting when I could) and Race Hard tyres all race, did 2 pit stops. Lapped the lead Viper...

Races that are as long as 1 hour are not that difficult to beat. It's more forgiving with your mistakes, and you have the time to catch up eventually if you are faster than the AI.
In these races, you really don't need to regulate your fuel unless at the very end you want to avoid doing a pitstop at the last few minutes.

It feels like the race various a lot. (On Hard difficulty) The fastest lap for the AI when using the Porsche 911 at 778pp was 2:18:01, which needless to say was faster than my fastest lap, was not gaining muich on the AI despite driving under 2:20:0 laps consistently and ended up losing by more than 15 seconds despite it being just a 2 stopper. Meanwhile when trying the 787b detuned to 799pp the fastest AI lap was not even 2:20:0 in the dry.

The only real way to add difficulty is by using the Gr3 cars and then having a terrible timing of the rain.

This was a fun race! I did it with the Beetle Gr.3, started with hard tires and made 2 stops, both for intermediate tires. I used fuel mixture 6 for the whole race, because I didn't know what to expect.

The AI is not so fast in this race, specially at Eau Rouge, just a short lift will get you through it, but the AI was fully on the brakes losing a lot of speed at Kemmel straight. Same could be said at turn 17 (right before the pit entrance chicane), this corner can be taken at 260 km/h, but the AI was breaking hard as well.

I made the first pit stop around lap 9, when the rain just started, changed to intermediate tires, went back to the track until the tires where almost completely gone, at lap 17. The rain stopped a few laps before the second pit stop, the track was drying up, but was not fully dried, sector 3 still was considerably wet. Fortunately, I made the choice to change to intermediate tires again instead of slicks, which was great, because a short number of laps later it started raining again. I kept the second set of tires until the end of the race, they where on the limit of the "tire life span gauge".

Looking back at it, keeping fuel mixture 6 for the entire race was a little too conservative at the dry sections. It was great when the rain was pouring down, easier to control the car with close to no grip. The revised physics made driving in the rain with no assists quite fun, it was a blast trying to keep the car under control around the track!

Came 2nd in the brz 1st try 🙈

Is the rain set or random like leman?

I made to mistakes ...
Went out fule map 1 RM ... miles ahead .
Rain comes
Night comes
Beautiful visuals

For the life of me could not find pit entrance DOH

Next mistake ... didn't take Intimate tyres .

Changed to wets during night ... miles ahead .

Rain went changed RHards fine ... but then a morning shower came and car became un driveable for a full lap !!!!!

odd as racing mediums were just fine in purple rain storm at the start of the night. But this one shower had me off every corner and un able to hold it on the stright.

Got in back on the wets .... but on and off showers all morning and a dry wet line left the AI on Intimate tyres catch and take me towards the end .

Wow 👏

So no where the pits are and take all the tyres

Todays weather frog.
Dry up to lap 9, rain to the end of lap 12,
Dry line useable from lap 15, slight rain lap 20 but stayed out and finished with 24 laps.
Had two spinns, otherwise i would get 25 laps out of it.

Still using the BRZ(probably forever, until a real GreenBrave car makes it into the game). Taking note of the weather.

Starting on RH this time. Rain starts end of Lap 6/46:13. I‘m P5. P4, in a Supra, pits with 47%. Doesn’t change tyres.
I enter the circuit P14, on IM. Dispatch an NSX, a few seconds later. Catch cars driving slow on slicks. Pass the Supra for 9th.
Viper pits with 16%.
Cars spinning out. 458(8th). C7(7th). WRX(6th).
Lap 8. Purple rain. I’m P2 36s behind the Viper. 33 s ahead of the P3 M6 Endurance. I’m dropping further, as track is soaked.
Rain stops at 35:15. 42.5s behind P1 and 12.4s ahead of P3.
Viper pits Lap 14. I stay out on worn IM/4 Laps in the tank.
Dawn at 22:50. Viper catches and passes me to regain P1.
Hold on, Viper pits again, it was in IM/73% fuel. I pit for RM. Rejoin 14,8s behind P1 Viper. P3 AMG GT is 2.8s behind.
Rain again at 14:40/Lap 18.
I pit for full wsets this time. The Viper had pit and it was on RS. filled up to 78% with 12 minutes remaining.
Rain ends at 8:30. 32s behind P1. 1minute ahead of P3.
1:30 to go and an RC F parks it at Radillion. Nice. I hit it and spin. Drop 40s behind.
Viper makes a pit stop for the win. P2 for me.

Glad for that. Shouldn’t be able to win all the time. Still, a good purse though and a three star ticket. Love this event.

Did it in 917 living legend. Whole race on map 6 with one lap on RH in heavy rain (lost 50s) still ended up 30s in front.

It's great that we've now got one hour-long event that earns credits for repeated completion.

However, like the 30 min LeMans race I feel the largely fixed weather pattern gets tedious pretty quickly. Would much prefer it to be dry most of the time, with just the occasional race affected by rain. Kind of like reality.

It's not like it adds much in the way of challenge since the AI is so bad at dealing with it.

Spa, especially in the night, is a beautiful track to race, but comparing to the Magiore endurance race this isn’t as fun. Not even close.

Yeah I love changing weather.... but its about as random as the roulette wheel as it is

Here's a way to make it interesting:

- Pick the new BRZ GT300

- Build a 1 minute lead over the first 40 minutes or so

- Rain starts falling

- Pit

- Accidentally click "Do not change tyres"

- Proceed to do the whole lap on slicks as the rain turns into a monsoon

- Pit and switch to wets this time

- exit in P2, 1 minute behind the leader

- pain

- leader pits on the penultimate lap

- come out just ahead of him

- end up winning by 0.170s.

New line up for me

Well, Portilla, in the Viper, grabbed the lead by Lap 4 and went two seconds faster than me for a 2:17.850.

Got this on my second try yesterday. When Portilla is on Pole it is even harder because he is really fast in the first laps. Was gaining maybe a second per lap (still stock 911 RSR without turbo).
One time got a bug and restarted -> Portilla did a fastest lap of 2:06 and took a over 30s lead in 2 laps. Restarted and laptime were "normal" again. Lost 15 secs in one lap. I think he maybe cutted somewhere.
