Thank you.

Had a blast tonight despite my awfulness. My replay data for the Autumn Ring and Indy Road Course are crazy!!! In Autumn Ring everyone was hopping and smoking and jetting out. In the Indy Race, ZiceDemon was the one warping all over. Try this link if you want to download the replays I caught. Makes me wish I had a capture card to upload to Youtube.

Great vid manny!! Thanks for taking the time (and also the extra footage of me and Benny at the end - was fun to see that battle from outside the car)
Well done and thanks for taking the time to do it!!!!

I enjoyed the portion of the night that I raced tonight. Cheers everyone.[/QUOTE

Is your signature true? If it is you should start using your wheel! What kind is it? I am getting a bonus at work this month and I am finally getting one. I used to have one.Two things that drastically reduced my lap times were getting a wheel and learning manual. I HIGHLY recommend you try. Not that I am a good example of a fast racer, but when I get my wheel I hope to start at least regularly contending for top 5. We will see. Both will also help you get more enjoyment out of your game, after you get used to them.

That is actually a question I wanted to ask everyone here.

1. Do you use a Wheel/DS3? If Wheel which one?
2. Auto or Manual?

I use a Logitech Driving Force GT and Auto. I'm still trying to figure out apexes and throttle control before jumping to manual. But I drive a manual in real life. So that counts for something.

You are quick with a DS3 Media! I use L2/R2 for brake and gas, x and square for shifting. When I had a wheel before, it really reduced my lap times on pretty well every track. I remember trying to get gold on a license test in GT5 and being unable to for a week or more.. I got my wheel and within the day I had gold and beat the gold medal time by about 4 seconds around Eiger Nordwand. Maybe my fingers just aren't that dexterous, I do move furniture for a living :lol:

Yes Benny my signature is 100% true, here's the background to it.

I had the occasional go at GT5 at a friend's house before I had any interest in the game & used the same controls I was shown that he used. After doing this quite a few times, I found myself wanting to play more so I bought a used PS3 & a used copy of GT5 on Feb 1st 2013 (judging by my 1st GT5 trophy). The PS3 refused to connect to the Internet but that didn't matter, there was plenty to do In GT5 offline I thought.

As the release of GT6 approached I pre-ordered the anniversary edition & also considered that I may want to use online features, or more specifically be able to download updates. Rather than format the PS3 & lose 99% completion & around 800 cars to attempt to connect to the internet I found another cheap used PS3. I didn't consider the use of a USB memory stick at this point.

December 2013, GT6 goes in the new PS3. I now buy a used DFGT but I know I'll need to build a simple table for it as I don't have a good place to attach it to at home.

Old PS3 comes with me, GT5 & the steering wheel to a job for use in downtime. One of the crew I'm working with mentions that when he was at school he built a racing seat for his brother's SNES as a school project (grade A). So the seat comes out of storage & we set up a "star in a reasonably priced car" leaderboard using the Golf IV at Top Gear Test Track. I smash the competition despite being the only entrant who doesn't drive in real life. Job finishes 6 weeks later & I'm allowed to keep the seat.

Back at home I'm spread between 2 houses a few miles apart so when a friend is looking to sell a PS3 I decide to make an offer & buy another copy of GT6. I can now play at either house. I have the seat & wheel at one of those houses but haven't got round to using it for various reasons (at the moment it's injury related).

I get reasonable enough throttle control with the touch sensitive X button & have learned to sort of "tap" the d-pad in a way that works. My total wheel use has been for the Top Gear lap times last winter on GT5.

Long, boring answer? Probably.
True story? Every word.

How about this question too, sorry if you've already done this one.

How did you choose your PSN/GTP usernames?

Sitting around playing GT5 while under the influence with a couple of friends we somehow started to talk about our b-spec drivers as if they had back stories. I know it sounds pathetic but I swear at the time it was funny.
M.Mallet was one of mine, he'd had problems staying off the sauce & was prone to getting behind the wheel when he really wasn't with it.
M_Mallet_Jr is his son & has raced you guys in GT6.
St_Bridge44 is a racing enthusiast & team owner who currently employs both Mr Mallet's.
It's ridiculous, I know.

I actually tried going back to the controller thinking that maybe I could be lazy for our last GT500 race and just lie on the couch for 2 hours (it's how I used to run the endurance races in previous GT versions).
Alas, I found I could not drive with it anymore, I've gotten so used to the throttle and brake control, not to mention being able to shift, with the wheel.

I wasn't feeling very creative when I had to create my name, I was just itching to play GT lol.
Fergus is the town I live in, and Mik is my name, hence the "FergusMik". :)
