I think I found a good setup for this land yacht. Got rid of most of the understeer and cured the snap oversteer under braking.

New best time of 1:11.892

I've topped that myself, found the point where the oversteer stops and the good handling starts!! :D Took me a while to figure out, but it's now in the ballpark I needed, just a fine tune now to get the last kinks out. I've also shortened the gearing by a heap.....it's now geared specifically for the track (281.57km/h top speed, 270km/h on track) which changed it's handling for the better. 👍

Best time: 1:11.780 with an 1:11.806 back-up run.

I found one more reason to hate this track even more best time right now is 1'13.662. I hate this track. I-ROC might beat me on this track. I still have to play with the trans, so hope is not lost.

1'13.184 starting to come onto it's own.

No, I've been getting 1'21s

At this rate, adamgp and I would lap you just after completing lap 7.

What problems are you having with your setup??

Dang, back to the track for me.

I know I can get the time down lower with some further tuning.

The cars tranny just doesn't seem right. One time it has too much acceleration the next moment it doesn't have enough. And I cannot fix the understeer. I toyed with the LCD and suspension. I ether have softs or mediums on it. It usally handles better with meduims but puts up slower lap times.

No wonder you're so behind the ball. Go do the following things, STAT!!

R5 TYRES ON!!
30/30 DOWNFORCE!!
CHANGE GEARING BY USING THE TRANNY TRICK, AIM FOR 280km/h TOP SPEED AND TRY AND GET A 13.5 ON THE 1/4 MILE WITHOUT TCS!!!!

That all should help you I-ROC. If I gave you the LSD secret I might aswell build the car for you. :P

I messed with the suspension a little more, got the car handling quite nicely.

New best lap of 1:11.398, backed up with a 1:11.502

I-ROC: I'll give you my LSD secret: I'm not using one.

Very nice time adamgp. 👍 And without FC LSD?? Even better effort.

Since you took the lead again, I'll get my "Red Bull" back underway as I've just finished doing what I need to on another project of mine....I'm actually doing a garage build simultaneously to racing in this. :embarrassed:

Thanks Adam!

No problem.

Thanks.

I rarely if ever put an lsd on a fwd car. If this competition were at a track like GVS, then I might use one.

This could be the last lap time I submit (maybe) in this competition. I'm going to be pretty busy this weekend preparing for a block party that we are hosting on Sunday. Hopefully it keeps me in the lead.:)

My final time on High Speed Ring.

1:10.679 & 1:10.806 backup. 👍

I threw the LSD even further out but was able to keep it stable to a point for those lap times. FF drifts aren't fun to keep fast times. :(

Sorry I couldn't get more into the race. I worked. So as of right now I'm 3rd, Not bad for a track I don;t like. Great time there Mafia Boy I wish we would have been at a better track. On to the next race.

I haven't won yet, I reckon adamgp will get this, we haven't seen his final time yet. :nervous: Gearing improved my time once again, plus I wound the LSD Decel up to the 35-40 level with next to nothing on Initial and Accel.

When's the deadline on this? I'll give it a few more tries tonight. So far I'm unable to improve on my time.

Since there's been nothing here for a while... how about an Evo Challenge?? All upgrades except nitrous, done on the High-speed ring. Any Evo's allowed except the tuner model. I figured you guys'd want something to do while our TCV4 cars are being judged ;). Interested??

i want something with more variety.., how about a GT450 Touring Car Challenge? all upgrades are allowed, but the power limit should be around 400-450. of course, the stock power of the cars have to be below 400hp (below 390 to be exact) so that engine tuning will still be needed..,

only sports cars. no race cars, no concepts, no tuners, just street-legal sports cars.., should I set the rules now??

Yeah, sounds good. But I still want it on the High-speed ring, that way it doesn't depend on driving skill as much. :sly:

okay then, i'll include High Speed Ring in the course list..,

while we're all waiting for the results on TCv4, anyone is welcome to join the GT450 Touring Car Challenge ..,

**Rules and Regulations**

-Cars: only sports cars are allowed (no concept cars, no tuners, no race-spec models) <chosen cars must have 390hp or below in stock form>

-Tuning Options: all are allowed, but power and tire restrictions will be implemented.

Power Limit - around 400-450 hp

Tire Limit- S3 Soft Sports Tires

-Tracks\Courses:

High Speed Ring, Opera Paris, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley Speedway, Nurburgring Nordschleife (oh yes :mischievous:)

any suggestion for the rules will be welcome..,

If I may make a couple suggestions, lose the stock power restriction and make the overall power restriction more exact. Rules would look like this:

-Cars: only sports cars are allowed (no concept cars, no tuners, no race-spec models)

-Power Limit - 450 hp

Tire Limit- S3 Soft Sports Tires

-Tuning Options: all are allowed, but power must be 450 hp or under and tires must not be of higher quality than S3's.

-Tracks\Courses:

High Speed Ring, Opera Paris, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley Speedway, Nurburgring Nordschleife (oh yes :mischievous:)

Overall, I like this idea. I'll have a time up soon, hopefully.

I like this set of rules better.

I built a 448hp Corvette Z06 that I'll be working on. Untuned (just purchased the parts and installed them, didn't mess with the settings yet) it ran a 7:09.128 at the 'Ring.

I set the power restriction, so that engine tuning will still be required. If the restriction was not there, some who would like to enter will be able choose cars that already have 400-450hp in stock form and already have good overall performance in said stock hp, all they have to do is tune other settings to make the performance from good to better. Whereas if you would only increase the power of a car to around 450hp and not touch anything else like tires and suspension, say for example a Subaru Impreza, it would run like :yuck: .., if they would tune other factors, the performance will be from bad to good.., get my point?? the stock power restriction is there to provide a challenge 👍, hence the name "Touring Car Challenge" .., ;)

thanks for the suggestions, any more from you guys?? how about the tracks? I already have set up about 10 cars for this event, :D ..,
