Sounds pretty cool, well done to mafia_boy so far. Im gonna get into this, try my luck at top speed tuning for a change. I got a question though, do we have to use the Top Speed even under power and speed or can we do multiple laps of the test course until we can get it up?

No, it's from a standing start on Max Speed, done to the same rules as the cars that are featured in the 300mph thread. So as I said, no backwards driving, no wallriding, no multiple laps/drafting etc.

I'll try again in a little bit, the family are watching Family Guy at the moment. I'm a bit over the olympics tonight.

*added bit #1* DAMMIT!! 399.80km/h (248.43mph)!! :mad::mad::irked: I've got to get this last .20km/h!!

Can I change this challenge slightly?? (lack of interest) I was thinking something different as I only hit 395 with the Integra... how about we try to find the least powerful car that can hit 400km/h??? I've got a good competitor for it already if you guys agree.

Let's just find an FF that CAN do 400km/h in the first place.

This is where I'm at so far:
The Focus RS. 416hp & 396km/h PB for me. I also tried the Alfa GTV 3.0 V6. 320Kw (436hp) & 500Nm....that got to 379km/h quite easily and in drag spec, got 11.82 on the 1/4....a bit disappointing considering it's as light as the 147GTA & has more power & torque. Next Alfa at the Top Speed might be the 156 2.5 V6...that get's 460hp+ but has a crap torque curve which only gave it a 12.1 on the 1/4 so I'm not too sure there.

The Integra I can get 397km/h, but was stuck at 395km/h myself yesterday. The problem with these cars is the lack of speed up to the NOS point, only getting around the 310-313km/h mark before the NOS hit. If you can get 320-325km/h before the outer shade screens with them you'll have a shot for sure.

The SRT4.......399.82km/h (have the screenshot to prove it too!! 👍 ). I'm at a brick wall with this freaking car!! :irked: I've driven that car nearly 1500km (500km x 3 attempts) and keep getting .79, .80, .81 & .82 in it, even after altering the gearing and suspension to hell and back. The last .18km/h lies in the acceleration and getting the most km/h before the NOS point. I keep getting to 330km/h-331km/h before I hit....maybe 332-333 is the answer?? I don't know with it but yeah it's hard to get it even to this point.

Thank god I've memorised the specs for that car. :D

It's been a few days so apologies for the double post but I've got a bit closer to the target. The new figure is now 399.93km/h (248.51mph). So close yet so far!! :nervous:

*added bit* It's the next day.........and I've spent another 1200km on the clock on another two attempts.

SRT4 @ Test Course Max Speed Test, done to same rules as the 300mph club. Speed......

400.01km/h!! That's 248.56mph!! :D:dopey::P:D

I'm going out now, then I'm onto the next challenge........

OH MCSQUEEGY...............MY HSR AND TVR ARE GETTING DUSTED OFF NOW!! :mischievous::D:D:D:D

The pics will be uploaded after I get back, plus a video replay for any other doubters. ;)

Ford Taurus Sho Battle

Me and Shoman are have a Ford Taurus Sho battle. No NOS. High Speed Ring. No weight mods.

Sorry if I did this wrong.

No problems with that. 👍 So just to confirm:

SHO Taurus '98 model.
Any mods allowed EXCEPT WEIGHT REDUCTION AND NITROUS.
Track: High Speed Ring

Deadline for entries??

Ummm.........I'd give a little bit more time than that. That's less than 24hrs away here in Sydney. :P

How about I throw the 14th at you. That way you and Shoman have a full week and anyone else can join in when they see the thread blah blah blah.

Mafs just in on this that way I can race you too. Oh I thought it was full weight reduction? If you want I can on to my other sho's?

I thought the challenge was between you and I-ROC??

If you want me to join in that's fine. I've just got to remember if my old 11sec drag SHO was on the deleted MC or my current one. :embarrassed: If not, I'll search for a neat 40000km example to buy and join in. :)

Who else wants in on this??

It's ALWAYS has been and will forever be open thread my friend. :)👍

And of course, I'm always ready to beat the FF pants off anyone who tries. :P:sly:

Man, the more challengers the better in my eyes!! :D

Oh man. I think this sho is turning into the best I have tuned.:) I hope everybody is on there A game. And I also see where I went wrong with the first 1. I hope everybody found one too.

I'll fire the first shot in this game. :D

Ford Taurus SHO '98 - Codename 'Red Bull'

Power - 298Kw/6100rpm (406hp)
Torque - 496.76Nm
Weight - 1509Kg

Time: 1:12.071
Top Speed @ Circuit: 268km/h

I'm a bit off in the settings, the car is actually working better on the reverse circuit with the current tune. :odd:

Dang. I'm gonna need to fix this understeer.

from tuning sho's. As soon as you fix the understeer, it will start to oversteer. If your good at tuning lsd. You will find the car has very little of both.

Its understeer is so bad, I can't make it thorough the first turn without slamming the wall.

The outside or the inside? It some stiffer spring settings in there. I'm having a little bit of trouble with it to. You have have to find the sweet spot on this pig. I get kind of :nervous: when going into a corner.

Outside. I even got softs on it.

I built an SHO last night, (almost) fully modded. 406hp, no weight reduction, no nitrous.

Without any tuning (just parts installed at their default settings) I made a lap of 1:12.227.

What all have you done to it? you must have a bucket of oversteer. play with the lsd I have mine turning really good. The lsd will have you turning real good too. You have to take your time with the sho, as she does a lot of things that makes you mad. I think you have it in you too. Or go to another track and tune it there?

I found one more reason to hate this track even more best time right now is 1'13.662. I hate this track. I-ROC might beat me on this track. I still have to play with the trans, so hope is not lost.

1'13.184 starting to come onto it's own.
