I'm always working on something else, so I have problems with finding time to socialize with my Yugo :)
Also, I'm short on rebuild kit for the engine, and I'm short on money to finance everything else.
Managed to get a pair of Dellortos jetted for 1600 and some used front wings that are usable.

if we could get Europe a Pepboys or Autozone franchise, you'd be all set. at least your parts don't have to ALL come from China, like ours do. you still make them, there (Europe).

I'm loving the progress. A Yugo build is definitely epic.

What are the ultimate plans for the engine? Turbo, supercharger or NA power?

how do you "rev the nuts" off an original yugo engine? I'd be afraid of it blowing up :P

now, on the engine he's talking about dropping in it, i can see. that thing's gonna fly, since it was originally designed with a sub 1.5 in mind.

My old beaten up 1100cc was revving to only 8200 rpm with DMTR Weber 30/32. Camshaft and inlet/exhaust was not appropriate for more.
1500 with higher duration/lift cam, twin dellortos and lightened flywheel should rev about 8000-9000 me thinks. I thought about building a 1300 (55.5mm stroke) but gave up. This is more rational for daily driving.

"only" 8,200rpm? :D My Focus SVT (ST170) only revs to around ~7,100.

Lampredi SOHC has one of the shortest (if not the shortest) stock stroke 55.5mm. They're pretty live little engines.

Dell'ortos are now for sale, I recently aquired a set of Weber 36DCNF's that I wanted long time ago.

They were extremely filthy, it's now a bit better but need more cleaning after all.

yeesh, do you have a cleaning booth over there, or know somebody? to have that kind of thing done, we have to find a shop in a big city or something Guys over here still just buy a new set/piece or an allready done Reman [ufactured].

I spent 4 hours or so cleaning them manually without disassembling. There's a huge possibility to brake some of the gaskets ff I disassemble them, and that's expensive and only available through ebay.
My friend on the other hand has ultrasonic tub for cleaning carbs, but he is 120 miles from me and they need to be disassembled in order to clean them in the tub.

Luisi from 1973. got a horn button, very rare to find!

Boomerang 5.5x13 4x98 ET? (around 20, need to measure) from 1975. Made in Italy!

Only set i've seen either online or offline in 13".
Only picture of them online besides mine are 5x10 for Mini on miniwheeldirectory.

Anyway, they were a bit awful.

6 coats of various paint on them, many many cracks, damaged curbs with missing pieces etc.

Removing paint with paint removing gel, and started sanding the edges to see how are thay like.

I'm surprised those cleaned up so nicely; they originally looked like something vomited on them. Nice work. 👍

now that's the kind of wheel service they used to do over here. nowadays, they simply throw the wheels away. it'd be nice to see someone outside a restorer/collector do this with some of the steelies over here (for some reason, aluminum wheels leak like a sieve)

If you take the fact that the wheels are 35 years old, they are in pretty good nick now!

I did a steel wheels for my friend's Renault 4 once, sandblasting and painting all DIY.

Thank You, they have small errors that are pissing me off but only visible from 2 inches from them. I'm satisfied because I painted them on 5-10°C, not so good temperature for painting.

Little detour. As my plans for Koral now changed and it will not be daily driver for sure.
I bought some little project so I can build myself a cool daily driver car.

Citroen AX GT, without mechanics at the moment. Will post pictures when I start to make some progress on it.

It's pretty much non rusty, but it needs work on the mechanics and interior/exterior for sure.

hm...looks like a couple of cars I had. had worse bodyrot than your yugo, I think.

note: caught a rare movie appearance of a US imported Yugo GV a couple days ago in what looked like a shade of gold.

Citroen is almost with zero structural rust :) It's just screwed up on the exterior mostly

I sold the AX and bought a Daily driver.

Fiat Punto 75 ELX with sparco springs and Boomerang minilite style wheels 5.5x13 ET30ish. 1cm spacers on front.
Sitting on 175/50-13" Dunlop SP Sport 2000.

Paint is not in so good condition, interior is neat and standard. Mechanics refreshed with pretty much all new parts.

About the ICE, after a long search for period correct HU i chose Kenwood KDC-MP6090R mask unit.

In front FOCAL ACCESS 165CA1

FOCAL-ACCESS-165CA1.jpg

In rear MTX sub with Blaupunkt amp and some Clarion speakers.

Not low enough for 13" due to large fenders, but I'm not going to make it any lower since I'm scraping all over the place already. Roads are pretty much useless over here if you aren't driving a Nissan Patrol etc.

I'm planning to invest in fuel and drive as much as possible, and yeah change some wheels/tires.
