I'm pretty sure that was there since June 16th. Besides - and have in mind that I'm almost convinced they'll not feature a cockpit view and I'm a big critic of this quality difference between standard vs premium - it's open to interpretation in my opinion.

What is interior camera views? Means that Premium cars will have multiple camera views of the cockpit, as seen in some shoots, exploring all the details of the cockpit? Wouldn't it make more sense to talk about "Standard cars do not support vehicle interior camera view (singular)." if referring to the cockpit driving view?
👍
Cockpit view while driving will still be there, you just wont get all the photo-mode views like the premium ones (370Z and other comparison shots on GT site).

so it's over, no cockpit. this sucks.. huge fail by Pd, i'm totally disappointed. Never expected this from Kaz.

Apologies for how brief that post was, but I was on my way to bed. Here is a photo I made.

Not sure how anyone can think we have cockpit view after reading that. But hey, it is your prerogative and I'm not going to fight anyone about it. I'm disappointed, but not going to dwell.

Everyone have fun debating it.

Same here, at least until they revealed the first features list at gamescom (to me it was pretty clear by then).
If you release a Prologue with cockpits for ALL cars, except concepts, people logically believe in the final product it would be the same.

I just can't understand why they modelled Countach from the scratch into obsolete GT4 model.

Only reason I can think is that Lamborghini was going to be in GT4 but didn't make the cut.

One I don't really understand is the R8 LMS. Part of the work was done already exterior wise with the Audi R8. Why go and make the LMS version a standard car.

Seriously, this is outrageous :(:(:(.
It should have been one of the main premium cars!

Pd should at least give us the ability to play with the hood cam, instead of the stupid roof cam:indiff:.

Might be grasping at straw here but maybe it means replay interior views rather than cockpit cameras, as it clearly says VIEWS rather than view or camera so it may be replay as we have seen several different replay views.

Or maybe PD are just using reverse phycology.

No seriously you guys are picking at too many straws.

The way I look at it is theres a possibility we will get black outlined interiors

I'll eat my balls without salt if there's black outlined interiors. It look's a bit different on a big screen compared to the PSP's small screen covered with HUD.

You'd be wrong, then.

No, no, no. There was no e-mail from PD saying so. That was from Kotaku.
People need to get with the program on this one.

Yes and no. PD did not post emails to kotaku but kotaku and that other site claim PD answered them that there will be cockpits in standard cars.

I understand that people were expecting all cars to have interior views, but what I don't understand is why some of you will skip out of driving those 800+ cars just because it doesn't have one? Unless GT5p is your first GT game, you should be at least used to the first or third person view...and we also have the roof cam now too, which I think was in GT4 as well if I'm not mistaken.

Sure, you can call interior views a "standard" this generation, but not other game other than Forza has over 200 cars that I can think (correct me if I'm wrong) of that has full interiors for all cars....but Forza can't even get the drivers to shift in the right location of some of the cars.

Oh well....GT5 will be epic regardless, and all I know is I'll be having fun with all 1000+ cars.

^^Totally agree

But i hope they add a hood cam, just like the WRX and the Jaguar on GT5 prologue. It's a perfect alternate view on standard cars. Even driving those standard Le man cars on hood view is perfectly fine, and better FOV.

Finally.

Can we talk about the rest of the game now?

There's plenty of other threads covering different aspects, at least be glad it isn't talked about in every single unrelating thread anymore..........

I did play every single GT, I played the first one in 1998 and back then I wasn't bothered that much about interior view as it seemed impossible to do on a PS-One.
I got used to it and wasn't bothered GT4 didn't support that view either for essentially the same reasons ( I did play games on a PC long before which did feature interior view but those were lacking in other departments compared to GT ).
When I finally made the transition to PS3 the main reason for not waiting any longer was the introduction of Prologue which finally added a gameplay feature to GT which ( apart from online/damage, etc. ) made it perfect to me at least and after playing it for more than 2 years now I can't see myself going back to my previous preferred viewpoint.
As for not playing those 800 cars, it might actually be impossible to finish the game without those or even to start out with, regardless of wanting to play them.
I can't help but fearing those 800 cars will feel like a visually and physicswise improved retro experience to me.
Sure I will enjoy driving those cars in the same way I would now enjoy playing GT4 as a still impressive blast from the past.

This one? http://igamereport.com/2010/06/23/official-all-cars-in-gt5-will-have-interior-views/

At the end of the article he links to the first message of this thread

 I missed that one.

Most of the time i do not care about cockpits as 1:1 steering animation is missing. Limited steering animation just messes my head especially while drifting.

Though i would enjoy seeing classic car interiors in their all glory while racing and also for automotive history sake. GT5 will be car museum like ISR said, i hope PD sometime recreates all 1000 cars with interiors. (automotive industry could even fund this kind of work to preservation of the feeling what is was like to drive pagani zonda F before internal combustion engines were banned)

You're a brave guy! I have to make sure that there's salt on my balls before
I eat them.
