The saga continues..............

Has anyone got an account with inside simracing?
Darin is an approachable guy, he wouldn't spill any beans he's not supposed to but this topic is comon knowledge and just needs clarification.

Then why Kaz mentioned "black borders" or something? And why they show us video with standard cars?Obliviously not to confuse us!
I give up!We need just wait!

Ahh, that's good to hear! Finally a reliable source that's just about cleared everything up. The only thing we can now pick it is how he worded and quoted the reply
Thanks for your persistance Guffaluff!

The blackframe from GTPSP with the analog instruments from the bumper cam would be a good compromise for the Standard cars imo. Maybe cars like LMPs should get the digital rev-meter.

If you look at the standard cars in some of the videos and screenshots you can see cockpit and they look ok to me.

I've exchanged emails with the U.S. Gran-Turismo.com webmaster regarding the mysterious footnote on the Japanese site. It should be added to the English version of the page soon.

I suppose he didn't explain what it means exactly?

Thanks Lion-Face for digging that up, for what it's worth:

"This impressive display also came with a somewhat disappointing revelation as well. Only some 200 of the 1000-plus cars in the game will be of the so-called "premium" class that lives up to this standard of detailing. The other 800 plus cars fall into the "standard" category described as old favorites from the series brought up to the level needed for high definition display. One of the biggest differences is the intricately detailed full interiors of premium cars that go beyond the steering wheel and dashboard of standards."

If this turns out to be correct, I'll be eating humble pie for the next year.

Interesting. Why can't every feature be answered with a simple yes or no this is really confusing.Typical PD

Thus why where still talking about the 20 tracks thing. PD would take some of the pressure off them, with just being clear on what the feature are.:grumpy:

The only time I can recall that happening, was prior to GT4 release, they said
the game would not have online feature.
Otherwise they are staying true to form.

Hope it's true. I wonder if headtracking would work on standard models. I'd be happy with a simple 180˚horizontal tracking.

What about "bumper" cam? Did PD ever mention anything about looking around with it? In the prologue we could only look left and right with arrows.

Im cool with REAL Steering Wheel and REAL Dash, i dot need backseats and crap.

You see the silhouette of the driver and teh steering wheel. Same as we had in GT4.

I know you cockpit guys seem to love that view, but it still looks to me like you're driving from the back seat. To each his own, I guess, and a good thing we're getting four views in GT5.

To each his own and it takes all sorts, etc. You wouldn't know half how much I love that view although it still isn't sure it will be in.
The backseat argument or loss of view ( which admittingly there is ) never crossed my mind until I started to read this forum.
But then again, I never liked bumpercam, and there was me thinking everyone would love cockpit view, to each his own indeed.:)

No, he wasn't able to elaborate - he only said the proper English translation for the footnote should read that standard cars do not "support" interior view (that's the intended translation for the word that Google sees as "correspond").

Don't think like that. There's only 200 of them and most of them would be the high end cars. Cars you can't enter in many races nor can get hold of in the very beginning.
