So what do we have now?
The fact that the windows are tinted on the standard cars does not mean that there won't be a cockpit view. Imagine you were the game developer. You had modeled a simple, yet usable cockpit into the car, but nothing else of the interior. Obviously, you don't want to show anything of it except when the player is in cockpit view. So what do you do? Right! Tint the windows. The outside observer will only see the outlines of what is inside the car, and you can still have your cockpit view.
Then, there's the problem with not being sure whether 'inside view' or 'interior view' means the same as 'cockpit view' - I overlooked this in my earlier post. Usually, I'd say it is the same. But given that you can look around in the car in Gran Turismo 5, may it be manually or now even with head tracking, means that there is a difference between just having a cockpit and having a fully modeled interior. So in theory, it is possible that standard cars may have a cockpit view, but don't support looking around as well as head tracking, because the rest of the interior is not modeled.
Again, these things have nothing to do with faith. If you put your opinion aside for a moment and look at these arguments neutrally, you have to agree there might be something to them. Now, you may still think that there won't be a cockpit view. But given the misinformation and translation problems of the very details we have had with previous installations of this game, I wouldn't wonder when the above is the case, and we actually do have a cockpit view. I personally do not think so, but that's a different matter.
EDIT: Oh, and there's one more indication saying that we will not have a cockpit view: if we would, you can be pretty sure they would have advertised it in the game's features. They did not explicitly say that it isn't there, but it is a feature interesting enough to be mentioned if it would be there. So from its absence (on the US GT-website at least), you can conclude that there will be no cockpits.
