if not.. these are from the GTPSP ZR1 model. And it clearly has an interior, well I don't know for sure, but I think it is a standard model.[/QUOTE]

These are the infamous shots PD/Sony released as being from GTPSP but are in fact from GT5.

Another great example on why I will always take what PD says with a grain of salt from now on.

I dont know what to believe.I did just play GT4.from the 'standard' car view lol.Im trying to brace for impact if they dont have interiors lol

Dude..GTPSP looks great.but thats crazy.it actually looks better than the cars in the GT5 standard car trailer!Im going to take what PD says with alot more salt than just a pinch! !

Reviewing this case, I just wondered:

PD put up the feature list of GT5 on their Japanese website including the very sentence which initiated this thread. Only a few days later, we get the English version of the feature list as a picture-perfect copy of the Japanese version, only missing that exact sentence completely. A week later the translation of the sentence appears, sounding almost exactly like Japanese-speaking people have translated before.

So why the wait? Did the translator need to ask PD how to word it first? Are they inducing the confusion which certainly rules this thread on purpose? One would think that if this statement was as clear as it sounds, they wouldn't have a problem translating it.

I say there is something very fishy going on. I have no idea what it is, but the whole thing just doesn't feel solid. Too many times has PD dispersed misleading information in the past.

Proof enough?

And no, I'm not happy about this, but at least this whole thing can be put to rest.

^^ Whilst I agree that there's something going on, that pic from GT official site was definitive to me since the first time I saw it, they clearly state, interior camera views, and this defines the cockpit view in all the possible ways that crossed my mind. I would love to be wong. :(

Either way, I am curious to see if our moaning will lead to some sort of generic cockpit on standard cars. No, we're not asking for premium interiors, and that goes to show you how little we care for it (or at least how little I care for precisely detailed interiors). But just render a few generic cockpits and let that be that until GT6.

If standard cars can show slight damage, then there is slight hope that they can have a cockpit. But right now, it looks grim.

Thats cool I'm putting my money on PD has giving us cockpit for those standard cars. Interior camera view can mean a lot of things. PD could of easily said cockpit. When reading that page it says nothing about cockpit for both premium or standards it talks about exterior/interior detail. IMO no camera interior view for standard cars mean you will not be able to see standard cars full detail interior like you could see in the premiums. For the premium cars from any camera view (replays, or actual racing against, photo mode) you can see the whole interior of the premium cars. this will not be the case for standard models. Yes their will be a cockpit driving view, but when viewing the car from camera views (replays, or actual racing againts, photo mode etc) the interior will not be present. Thats the reason for the blacked out windows.

Yes this is my OPINION, but i cant wait to hear more news on these standard cars cockpit or not i still will enjoy the standard cars. 👍

I agree. Both sites word it weird. And I think if there was really no cockpit, they could just said so. I mean, it's not that hard to say "Standard cars have no cockpit." or "Standard cars have no dash." But "interior camera view"? That could just mean that the windows are blacked out on all standard cars. It's just a weird way of wording "No cockpit" if that's what it actually is.

I think it's safe to assume that it means that there will be no cockpit view available on the standard cars. Especially since we have no evidence to the contrary. :sly:

If you click on the 4th and 5th image and read the article it clearly states that we are getting cockpit view for all cars, but 170 are gong to be extremely detailed and feature interior damage. Yes they did mess up on the IRL but they came back and cleared it up. Everything else has been confirmed and we are waiting for more news to come 👍 Cant wait for the next gaming convention.

There's no real evidence that they don't either. All we have is a poorly worded phrase which could, as I've mentioned, refer to anything. And we've gotten equally confusing comments from Sony. Kaz mentioned that the difference between standard and premium cars was in the details and then talked about the cockpits of the premium cars. There have been a couple "official emails" from "Sony" that have said that all cars will have cockpits, too. Even on the GT site, they mention the level of detail in the Premium cars and the majority of shots of the premium cars of interiors. This could mean that all cars DO have interiors and the Standard cars just aren't as detailed, or it could be "LOOK Premium cars have interiors and standards don't." I think a lot more of us are waiting to see a demo with Standard cars before we say either way. (you hear that GamesCom goers. Make sure you go straight to a Standard car to see if they have interiors)

No interior camera view = no camera view from the inside of the car. PD probably phrased it that way because they thought they could tell everyone that there will be no single camera view from the inside of the car available, no cockpit view, no dash view, no whateveryouwannacallit view.

Considering the way people spin anything said by PD around here, if they said 'Standard cars do not support cockpit view', people would've started to say that it will probably feature a dash view, because a cockpit view would mean showing the whole cockpit. We would probably see the very same pictures, showing premium cars in replay mode with the camera moving around the interior, and someone would claim that that is the cockpit that's not availabe to standard cars, much like they do now for 'interior camera view'.

Let's be honest, no matter how PD phrases it, someone will always find a way to read something into it that's not there.

There's no real evidence that they don't either. All we have is a poorly worded phrase which could, as I've mentioned, refer to anything.
That 'poorly worded phrase' is about the only thing we have as PD held pretty much all information back regarding the standard cars; at least, it's the only official thing we have. And it certainly does not make it seem any more likely that the standards will have a cockpit view, does it? And what does hint at standard cars having cockpit views? A big, fat nothing. If you don't want to accept it as a proof, at least accept the fact that there is at least one hint at standard cars not having a cockpit view and zero that would lead one to think otherwise.

I think a lot more of us are waiting to see a demo with Standard cars before we say either way. (you hear that GamesCom goers. Make sure you go straight to a Standard car to see if they have interiors)
If the GC demo does feature standard cars. Which I highly doubt.

Nice! Too bad no one found tht before... they could have posted it and avoided this whole problem! :sly:

 I love how people who weren't part of this discussion come into the thread, post a link to that page (or now a screenshot), say case closed and then leave and never come back to the thread :dunce:.

Not saying that that means cockpit views or not, just thought it was interesting how people appear and then disappear. As if they have come to solve all of our problems and as though people have not been arguing about that exact thing over the last 10+ pages (20?).
