NOPE! And besides, we then got that sweetness video that showed the ability to select mulitple interior camera views during replays.

Look, I want to believe just as much as you, and if you'd asked me yesterday, I would have been on that bandwagon. But thinking about it, it's not going to happen.

Let's review the facts.

1. The GT website says so. Debating over grammatical errors dosen't prove anything.

2. Many japanese speakers have said that the 's' in 'views' is a trivial mistranslation.

3. PD has said how long it takes to model the cars, and considering all things, they just didn't have time.

4. Blacked out windows in standard cars show that there is not anything to look at inside of the standard cars.

Now, considering this, it is staring us in the face. I hope you are right so badly, but I really don't think you are.

After KY's twitter response, I hope and believe they'll try to address this issue. If not, oh well. I will live. I don't even use the view (interior view), but it would make the game more consistent.

We will see.

They have! Seriously? I thought we had been over this enough times...

C'mon on man That text means no cockpit? You can take that as no cockpit, but i wont. With all the text and that short video of the standard cars if you put that little message with the information we know IMO it means no viewing the car interior view from, replay mode, photo mode, garage mode, and when racing in game against standard cars.(this is the reason for the blacked out windows) If they say no cockpit I bet its going to be clear just as they did with damage and lights description with both standards and premiums. I will wait for the next events for my judgments.

Are you an idiot? You are contradicting yourself.

It dosen't get any clearer. Standard cars do not support an interior viewpoint.

Why are you suggesting I'm an idiot I'm just stating my opinion and once again as usually you never read the post correct.

I admitted openly I was wrong. Correct me if I misunderstood, but you said, No interior viewpoint when racing in game.

I apolagize for calling you an idiot, but you are contradicting yourself in your post.

I'm sorry what i meant by that is when racing against other standard cars while in cockpit view, you are not going to see inside the interior like you would with the premiums. I remember driving against the AI in GT5P and looking out of the window car of my car and seeing the AI gauges through his window. It was so sweet.

Your opinion so I'm not going to say you're wrong, but from that one asterisked sentence, where did you see them speak of replay mode or , photo mode, or garage mode? If they meant only one specific thing they would point out that thing. Them giving a broad, general statement more than anything hints at everything that "no internal views" encompasses. Everything that has to do with the interior view of standard cars is ruled out by that sentence.
I'm still clinging on to the idea that we'll have 1000 cockpits but the evidence is not in our favor.

Well D its really not going to matter, but i got that from just looking at the blacked out windows, reading all the text on that page and the word camera. Its just my opinion though. I'm pretty sure none of those modes are not going to show the interior. Also PD has used the word camera in GT5P describing replay. Again In my opinion i have not seen anything that confirms 100% No cockpit for the standard cars. I will wait for the up in coming events 👍

This is a little off topic, but I'd like to predict something.

PD isn't going to make a demo version of GT5 available to the public that features standard cars. In my opinion, it's quite likely that we're only going to see trailers and pictures of the standard cars until release, but no actual gameplay footage.

Of course, this is just a prediction based on a gut feeling, but still...

Maybe the stated "no views for standards" does infact mean no cockpit view. Even if it does, there is still plenty of time before the release to add some sort of generic view, or updated psp view as someone brought up to Kaz through twitter where he replied "its possible". So I'm hoping that atleast they recognized the outrage by the community and will do something about it.

But the word CAMERA is not in the japanese sentence.

it's "Standard cars do not support vehicle interior camera views" not "No Views for Standards"

Hey, I just thought of something. We've always quoted just the "Interior camera views" part but the "Vehicle interior camera views" kinda ads to it. Like it's saying, standard cars have no cameras of their vehicle interiors like those we've seen of the premium cars.

He was refering to Organ-Donor's comment.

I think people need to take a more realistic look at the time we have left before launch... remembering the last month (at least) is tied up in finalizing and pressing/shipping, one has to also remember that what would be a lot of time of PD just worked on that one thing is probably not realistic as their reasources will be spread thin near the end of the project like any other release.

So if PD dropped everything else and worked on cockpit view of some sort right now, I suppose it's plausible something would come of it, but in all likliehood, if it isn't there by this point (let's face it, standard cars are the oldest asset in GT5 so it's not like they haven't had opportunities to work on it if they are going to) it's probably not gonna be created now.

Since they took quite a long time to develop GT5,If they conceive the standards from the very first stage of development the cockpits design should be in their schedule,to the date this is unknown(but is more likely to don't have cockpits),so the updating of the cars is not the final asset to be introduce in GT5,since the announcement of standard/premium was like 1 year ago is pretty clear that they have expected, this so if the standards were conceive with the cockpit(which is not likely)it should be implemented over schedule.

In a side note I want to add: if the standard cars have cockpits there will be a huge LOL over the Forza fans, lets expect that.

...and so it begins, again. What does Forza have to do with anything in this thread?

Reasonably, we have 2.5 months left for PD to work on the game, unless they want to miss the release date. While a blacked-out PSP-style view can't be too hard to implement, I'm sure there are other things that are of more importance to the team. Really polishing off the day/night transitions, the damage... these things need to be done well. It's already understood we're getting recycled GT4 models, so them not coming with a cockpit view wouldn't be such a huge surprise, since they never came with it then either. The criticisms are going to be there regardless of a cockpit view, that we've received carry-over assets; it'd probably helps the foundations to get the new features implemented as well as possible. Gives them a lot less to do come GT6... other than continue switching Standards over to Premiums 👍

Really, imagine how different the reaction would've been if there had been no hint of Standard cars until we all loaded up the game?

Sorry if this has been discussed but it would make sense that open cockpit car will have interior views, right? So will they still be classified as standard just because of the level of detail?

It hasn't been very much, and it's one thing I'm really very curious about in regards to Standards. We could see the interior of cars like the SL and Cobra in GT4; they were basic and would undoubtedly look rough if viewed in a proper cockpit view, but they were modelled. GTPSP though made it impossible to drive in any car top-down, and got rid of any cars that didn't have the option (Prowler, Jay Leno's car, the Caterham). The only car in PSP you don't get a black-out cockpit for is the F2007.

We haven't witnessed any Standards without a tintop yet, but unless they have had interior upgrades, I wouldn't be surprised if PD doesn't want a cockpit view in there...

Well, perhaps for a lot of casual gamers or those simply "blissfully" unaware who just find out a new GT game is released this may actually happen.

No, not really in my opinion if the viewpoints of the Standard cars are the same as the GT4 models they are based on.
In GT4 they had modelled interiors but interior view wasn't possible, I'm guessing that wouldn't change just because they are open cockpit ( convertibles, racecars, etc. ).

True. But didn't Kaz say damage was included because of the NA demand for it? I would think there are more people complaining about the lack of cockpit views than damage...so isn't it possible that PD noticed the dissatisfaction of fans and therefor do something about it. I also want to be realistic about them implementing cockpit view of some sort this late in the game, but how hard would a generic cockpit view of some kind take? It wouldn't have to be something unique to every car brand.
