The rain race really is a rally, and that was last weeks race. In my opinion, the rain races were PD's attempt at including weather in a race to see how it worked.

Can we pick something along the lines of 400-600hp with 4wd? I do enjoy SSR5 as it's short, and quick, with good turns and long open straights.

AO

It's like a rally, but you don't have to drift and it's faster.

I would like a XJ220 on Tokyo II, Midfield II, or GVS II. Or maybe Jaguar XKR on Trial Mountain.

Otherwise, I think a Xsara on SSR5 wet would be cool.

Well that settles it everyone. :D

I've got week 73 picked out now...
Expect results for week 72 shortly.

btw, I'm tellin you guys... suggestions make all the difference.
And it's not just one person either, it's the group.

Till I get everything else done.
Later. :D

And I was just about to... Oh well.

Now I get left hanging for however many hours it takes you to get done what you're doing. Back to golding license tests I guess.

Looking forward to the 72 results, I felt far more competitive this week than last.

Week 73's rules have got me thinking... what about a race run with cars built on a budget?

Just some ideas:

- $50,000 maximum car purchase price, and another $50,000 max on modifications.

- $100,000 maximum on combined car purchase and upgrades.

These numbers could be adjusted to make for the most variety and fun, of course.

Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, or Apricot Hill would be fun tracks to run on. Any natural road course would do.

Just seems like it would be fun to me. What's more important, a performance car with minor mods, or a sleeper with heavy mods? Tires, suspension and weight against pure power, or a nice balance of all?

Ugh, I hate salary caps :P I'd wear this idea but I doubt I'd enjoy. $50,000 on mods meens GoKents can barely afford his Super Soft tyres! It's not that bad really, best near to stock car you can find for the bracket.

Has the Spoon Civic been used yet in the WRS?

Great little car and it revs to 17,000RPM also, its great around R246 forwards or backwards:tup:

How about a restriction to T2 tires on a 500hp car.

It's a real test of the driver to apply the throttle. I've noticed in the majority (All?) of the weekly races, we run T8 tires.

That's a pretty cool idea 👍
I'll hang with that one.
💡 How about something on the heavy and RWD side too? That'd make a good challenge on a technical track like Seattle II or SS11 II :)

Heavy RWD cars can be easily taken care of with a good setup. What I had in mind was something like a "challenge" every week, where stricter specifications are given for anyone who would like to push themselves, and then we say who won the challenge in the results thread. What do you guys think?

Maybe a dodge viper at 600 odd bhp. Maybe T2's front Sport tires on the back. Make a REAL challenge. I think a track like seattle II would be a great challenge for this sort of car.

Hey Der Alta:
I recently took part in a Hot Lap comp over at GTX...500+ HP in an AC Cobra w/predetermined tuning on SIM TYRES at COTE!!! (I think it caused about half the entrants to drop out of the series, but I thought it was a "Blast"!!!) 👍

Seriously: When was the Last Time (or FIRST Time) any of us EVER used T-6s or T-7s??? I'd like to see them used in ANY comp as well!!!...UB57 :D

So this is what I'm feeling...

Track, unknown.
Car, unknown.

Tires... T2 or T5. :D

Power, unknown.

Rear wheel drive of some sort?

What I'm gonna do is go through my list of cars and take a few out for test drives on various tires.

By the end of the night I should have a good idea of what will come to us in the next week's race.

In the mean time I want you guys to have fun and keep those suggestions coming. :D
Till next time,

Call me a masochist, but how about this then?
T2 tyres on a stock (only oil change & broken in) Shelby Cobra round SS11 II with ASM and TCS at Zero.
I guess thats a little too much like the S-Licence test in the Griffith 500 huh?

Sounds interesting; but that's just called "cruelty." that car oversteers way too easily to do that; although it would be an interesting challenge round (like, say the race is Cobra at SSIIR, the challenge would be T2s and no ASM or TCS).

Trust me, I have no problems with races like that.
They can be difficult, and they can be frustrating, but they can also be fun. :D

My problem with all of this is that I have a couple of goals in my managment of the weekly.

First on that list is keeping the races thriving through intresting and exciting racing.

To do that, I really need to give racers what they want.

However, to give racers what they want, I need to satisfy the demands of a variety of racers.

That means there will be racers looking to do record runs, specialty runs, difficult runs, easy runs, blah blah blah, on and on.

So when I go to decide races I have to weigh the options.

Do I want to run races that specific racers will enjoy, or do I run a race with wider appeal?

That is why we often run super soft, specific mod, hotlap races.

This week coming up I plan on doing something for the racers who don't get "their" race too often.

With that being the case... Keep those suggestions coming. 👍
It's going to make a difference come monday night, trust me. :D

Till next time,

Sadly I missed the Mini race!
Anything in a Mini would keep me happy! But there's 159 other cars out there and I guess we've not used 1/2 of those yet either!
Hotlaps on T2s instead of T8s would be fun though?!!!

Sport tires or Sim tires?

Which would you all like more?

What about the levels of racing tires.

T2 or T5?

Then, which of the two groups,
sport/sim or t2/t5?

Also, any suggestions about car are welcome since I just don't have anything in mind at the moment.

Ideas are coming and going for me, so if you're in that boat don't let the ideas slide away... post them up quick!

I think that a nice set of T2's with a moderately powered Speed six would be an enjoyable drive.

An FR car that can really ride the edge of control.

I'd leave the sims out of it, perhaps a Zonda C12s with an oil change, a bit more power, and a run at Tokyo?

I think a high powered FR with Sport tires on front and sim tires on the back would be a real handfull:D:D:D:D

Man!

I love the enthusiasm you guys have!

Nothing seems to fit the lot of you better than a challenging race.

Records and bragging rights take a back seat to personal improvment and enjoyment. 👍

Indeed, I will do my best to get a race we can all see as a challenge. :mischievous:

Keep 'em coming.
These suggestions are killer and will surely make the difference.

Thank you very much. :D

I appreciate it greatly.

Now keep those suggestions coming cause there is only 1 day left before week 74 goes up.

So get those opinions in because they will shape the race for week 74.

Until next time,
Later.
-:D

I'm sticking with my previous suggestion, high powered FR, sports front, sims back;)

I'm sticking with my previous suggestion which was castrate Blake as a precaution for humanity's sake.

I mean uh...

FR, terrible tyres, sounds like fun - yes, I am a sado-masochist.

How about a fully modded Shelby Cobra with that setup :mischievous:. That would be a real test of a driver's skill!

Or if Kents is feeling more generous, I wouldn't mind racing a Silvia or a 240SX next week, I don't think there have been any races using those cars (except for ones which the rules would have permitted said cars, obviously).

Heading out to the bar now, but will surely be back to post results in approx. 2 hours.

Also, I've gotta ask...
Why do you all love the idea of low grip tires?

And with all that love for wheel spin, how come so many people used tcs in the vertigo at cote week?

Any way, I've got a race setup that I think you all will really like.

However, if you want a final chance at swaying the race setup please feel free to post up your ideas.

Till later tonight,
-

How about something with an MR car, stock and on a track like the test course or super speedway?
