The C5R is already the current car in this week's Torc race, so perhaps you could also choose it, then I won't have to practice with 2 different ugly unbalanced US cars in the same week ;)

If we're goin' nationalist I say open season on all American cars, I'm looking at Viper specificaly but any American car will do.

We haven't been on dirt since week 58, and I really need to do some rally again. :D

I would suggest Tahiti Circuit, as the weeklies never have been there (according to Famines Stats). So forget any irrational aversions to dirt-racing and focus on the palm trees and Tahitian babes, and let's go exotic next week. ;)

How about you go on your own? ;)

I gotta ask, did you bother looking at how many weeks have been on dirt throughout the entire weekly race series' existance?

Only 3 if I remember correctly, and with in 5 weeks of running I put a rally race in.

Check that out and you might be suprised considering I am a major rally hater.

However, if no one else makes any suggestions, yours may be the one I use.

I like to give the racers what they want, and if rally is what they want... then rally is what they will get. Eventually. ;)

Note:
The 24 hours of Le Mans is on sunday this week... might be nice to do something in honor of that. :mischievous:

In that case I won't say word on the subject of next week's series :D

<<cough>> <<cough>>

Uhm... hi. I have been making suggestions (sometimes two or more a week) and it seems as though NONE of them are ever carried out, or even remotely connected to a weekly series race. Maybe you could re-consider some of them? :P:P:P:P

They ignore your requests because it's the only way they can give you some kind of handicap because your so damn good at the game. Don't moan, feel honoured. ;)

Thank you.
I only seem like that because of the t times I mentioned in week 68.
Trust me, they get much better than me. :mischievous:

But it is indeed an honor. Thank you.

Although let me mention to all of you...
Some of the best races I have had the honor of running were totally un-predicted. The most recent of all those was the Miata run at ssr5.

CFM suggested it at the last minute in his final time submission the night of the deadline. 👍

That was a great idea on CFM's part... Not the car, but the way he suggested it.
Kinda ruins the idea of a suggestions thread but then again, I don't like getting too many PMs that are not related to final times. ;)

Anyway, thanks for the compliments.
Later,
:D

I forgot to mention, but...
I really love the 24 hours race scheduled for this sunday.

Le Mans 👍
Awesome race, I just hope there are multiple Ferrari entries... it would also be cool to see audi not take the overall win, but hey, that's just my opinion. ;)

I was indeed surprised, when you gave us a rally so soon after your promotion, as you very often has told us, how major a rally hater you are.

(Here it would be nice to quote somebody for saying something about doing races they don't like. But I don't know, if someone ever said something about that particular matter, so i won't. :P )

I like to give the racers what they want

Here's some pocket statistic:

week 57(tarmac) 20 racers
week 58 ( rally ) 24 racers
week 59(tarmac) 16 racers ;)

Of all the post I come back to gtp.v6 to see, it's this one. ;)

Rally is indeed coming shortly, but I don't want to short everyone for week 69 which will indeed be running on our already established schedule for races.

Week 68 Results coming shortly.
Later. :D

My suggestion is a fully tuned/modded Alteza at Tahiti Maze. 1000+hp in a rwd car takes a lil finesse that some of the regular rally drivers don't have. :D

I'll enjoy driving anything you want to decide on though. I like learning and something unusual would be nice. Also something fast would be nice as the TORC 12.5 race right now is in a slow car. Might grab some of those guys tired of poking around GV.

How 'bout a Vanquish or Viper at Cote D' Azur? Or maybe something smaller like a 3400s or an Autobacs MR2(or is it MRS???) would work out nicely there...

Hey all!

I wanted to come in and mention a few thoughts.

First off, let me apologize for ruining week 70.
I should have put us in the arcade evo proto, or just a stock sim evo proto.
Would have been a lot more fun like that and atleast I have come to realize my mistake. Maybe I will get it right in the next rally. ;)

Next on my agenda is a reminder of what this thread is here for... suggestions, duh! :dopey:

I'm looking into tracks and cars for next week and nothing is really jumping out at me. Right now all I have to go on is my list of our car/track combos since week 53 and the advice of darin.

Now, if you guys want darin to be the only one suggesting stuff that's cool, I liked what he suggested for a race. :D
However, I thought you would all like to get in a say for what week 71 should bring.

So I ask you all,
What should we do for week 71?

Thanks for the advice.
Roaddog, thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming.
But remember, I can only put so much weight on the suggestions of a driver that has never competed with us before. ;)

Talk to you all soon hopefully,
-

btw, I reset the poll results so everyone could do some voting again.
I plan to do that every week from now on. :D

I've been looking at the records held at R/L and thought its about time I submitted a few times seeing that I haven't bothered so far. A good starter to help me on the way would be Grand Valley using a fully modded Toyota Supra Denso Sard JGTC. 👍 ? 👎 ?

👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

BTW Kent, what was wrong with the high hp Evo? There isn't hardly any times submitted for it anywhere, so I thought it was a good choice. :)

 I'm having great fun at this, and can't see how it should be ruined. At first it seemed very challenging to get the modded EVO around the Maze, but after familiarizing with the combo, it isn't harder to make clean laps, than in any other of the weekly races we've had.
I'll repeat myself and say: I believe there has to be a certain amount of challenge in the races. It's through the challenge I learn and develop my racing, and that's whats make races both fun and interesting.
As usual you did a great job, with this combo, Kent. 👍

Sphinx
Grand Valley using a fully modded Toyota Supra Denso Sard JGTC. 👍 ? 👎 ?

I like that too. :)
Or another fast car at an open track like Apricot or Grand Valley II.

Why??? Personally I'm having great fun although I haven't had time for many Laps. A "Ride" I'd never driven at the best Rallye Track (IMO) in GT3...NOTHING to Apologize for!!!...UB57 :D

like i sugested earlier, a high HP FR car, at ssr5 wet. maybe the vanquish?? lotus espirit?? or a griffith?? id like a bit of a european theme. just my 2 cents

I will consider this, but I am hesitant to do this exact track immediately following a rally.

Point taken though.
Wet tracks will be used in the near future.

However, for next week a dry track might be the best.

I saw a few people suggesting denso on gv, but last time we ran gv it was on a full mod oreca.

But I have a track in mind that hasn't been done in quite a while, so maybe we could run that with 1 given car (probably a sim car).

Go ahead and include car suggestions in your final time submissions (or here since a lot of you have already submitted your times ;) ).

So yeah, which car shall it be?

Later. :D

btw, 3 votes for a multi lap race already. :scared:

Can any of you who voted on the previous poll vote now that the results were reset?
(they were reset at the time of a post I made just a little ways up this page)

I vote for a SLOWER car next week. It seems that most of our Sim cars are Fully-modded and/ or high-HP, so I think we should have something around 200 HP or less. Just a thought. Sorry it's not more specific. ;)

With UB57's 5 lap race and HGT's Trial Mountain 5 lap race in the Razo Silvia, I'm all multi-lap raced out for a week or 2 I think. I guess if it does end up being a multi-lapper, I'll give it a go, but I doubt I'd be willing to spend much time on it.

According to my GTPWRS stats sheet (updated version to be released tomorrow with the results for week 70), we've not had any:

4 lap races.
Races at SSR5 Wet, Smokey Mountain, Swiss Alps Reverse, either Tahiti Dirt Course, Tahiti Maze Reverse, Super Speedway or Test Course.
Races where you must use an Alfa, Chrysler, Jaguar, Lister (underrated car - torque monster), Mini, Shelby, Suzuki or Volkswagen.

We've had 59 Sim mode races, but only 11 Arcade mode races. Only 3 cars have been left standard (two F1 cars and a Castrol Supra), and only one RR...

Hey, is there a chance to suggest we run a time trial? or perhaps a license test?

You said "Feeling Dizzy" and I thought of the circular license test.

AO

I like the idea of doing a license test very much. 👍

I only have gold in approx. ½ of my licenses. My goal is to get gold in all before GT4, but with all this OLR it's going very slow. Right now I'm only doing tests when the Planet is down.

I'm sure most of you already got all the golds, but it would be a great encouragement for me to do some of the work with other racers.

If the idea is not suitable for the weeklies, I would be happy to join in, if Der Alta decides to make this suggestion into a spot race. :D

looking at the poll above, it seems a MR car is wanted , along with a multi lap race.
hhmmmmmm........ lotus espirit , multi lapper @ ssr5wet??????????????? :):):)

oh yeah... congratulations Nielsg, on your promotion, well done mate!! :) but 1 less racer for div3 :( lol

I agree, a license test would be a great weekly.

I vote for one of these 3:

S-3: Mazda 1989 Miata MX-5 Trial Mountain

S-5: Toyota 1985 Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex SS Route 5 (Wet)

S-7: TVR 1998 Griffith 500 SS Route 11

We are currently running Cote, so S8 is most likely out, and we just ran Laguna 2 weeks ago, so S6 is most likely out as well.

Great suggestion Der Alta! 👍
