Sounds like you're a prime candidate for a gamesave! ;)

I thought I was thread drifting until I realized that I was making a suggestion :)

I keep meaning to buy a second memory card and using that with a game save for the WRS, but it's also because of the WRS that I get *ANY* progress made in my main game. Hohum.

I'll just have to run a few endurance events while I'm sleeping/working.

Would still like to see a normal R/L car race ... in GT mode with limited upgrades ... something like a M3 or RUF or even something less potent ...

For reference purposes, I made a spreadsheet of the wrs history.
nice to know the history of what has been done to think up new ideas.
i've attached it if anyone else wants a copy.

Spoon S2000 Race Car multi lapper at either Tsukuba or New York .... sweet combo's as I have run them on Kai a few times 👍

That car is so perfect to drive ..... what it lacks in speed it definitely makes up for it with drivability

that reminds me... i was playing with the Amuse S2000 Gt1 for giggles last weekend. That car LOVES sasuka.
its almost like it was made for that track.

Thanks for the spreadsheet Dr_Watson, very handy. 👍

Personally I would like to see a high powered 4WD drive somewhere relatively narrow. I've just recently discovered how much fun it is to slide a Delta S4!

Multi-lapper with a slightly modded road car (sport parts only) on a short track.

the wet would probably be more *fun* with a WRC car.
imprezza, evo, 206, etc...
I'm not convinced. 4WD cars have a natural tendancy to understeer, and the wet tarmac will only increase this tendancy.
I don't expect any fun from 4WD on the wet.
A light MR should be fun, but I didn't tested it yet.

I agree with Cyril!

Tskuba wet(sp) YES!

4WD........NO!

IMO ANY 4WD or FF with any more power than 300 Bhp is just a pain-in-the-ass as far as power-induced understeer (That is in GT4 anyway)

Any MR or FR would be fun, enjoyable even if the driver isn't fast! But 4WD/FF 👎

HOWEVER.................

My personal request would be the GT round Seattle!
I still have nightmares about that special licence in GT3, i remember that it took myself and a mate over 3 days to set a bronze time (each outdoing the other by thous or hundredths as we swapped over)
Now i would LOVE the challenge, in-fact last time i ran GT3 through, i did every licence test including the specials and rally stages in under 3 hours, Silver at first attempt, or gold if i really fancied getting it)

But the GT40 round Seattle is still holds a cold place in my heart, even tho i can now do it! That chicane at the end of the S/F straight was without doubt the most ran 600yds of ANY track, i'm glad that PD didn't include track wear! lol

the oversteery RWD may seem like fun... but its not faster.
FR/MR provides more wild and fast entry speed, but from my experience, gets owned on exit speed. Its way to much of a pain to get the power on the pavement effectively. But then again, i don't have a DFP yet; so my analysis is tained by an inferior controler.

Who's talking about ultimate speed?

I for one like to have fun whilst competing in this series. If the car's a pig, or completely unsuited to the track, i very quickly loose interest in the combo.

I know there should be an element of difficulty in every race, BUT, Pigs don't thrive on the African plains and cheaters don't wallow in mud!

while i see where you're comming from, the weekly races aren't a sunday drive, and there are no style points. its a competition, so IMO the futility of trying to get the power down is much more frustrating and would cause me to give up much sooner than learning how to drive well with 4wd. besides, the wrc cars are no where near as piggy as the street machines.

We had Citta di Aria a few weeks ago and hopefully we won't be seeing it for many more :D

I'll give my vote to Tsukuba Wet as well 👍
I am sure that will turn out to be interesting...

The Wizard.

while the wet is interesting... what i'm really jonesing for though is a small nimble car on clubman R5.

I agree that generally the 4WD cars can understeer. But the Delta S4 and the 205 T16 are rear-biased oversteer machines. They would be great at Tsukuba Wet

I should try them.
The only cars I tested on Tsukuba Wet are the Yellow Bird (overpowered), the Datsun 240Z (great but lacks power) and the S-800 race car (same problem as the the Datsun.
I'll also try the Lancia Stratos, the MGF and the Motorsport Elise which seems appropriate a priori

In the WRS I would love to see something that's not a hot lap! Ten , maybe twenty laps. After working on a hotlap for an hour or so, you are performing at your personal level. The next 300 laps are looking for hundreths of a second. How about 10-20 laps, subtract fastest lap from slowest lap. The smallest difference wins...etc. Yeah, a nice consistency race. Hotlap or not,I'll still run, just getting a tad tired trying to drive a tenth of a second better then I normally can. That's my 2 1/2 cents worth.

Sounds like a good idea, but there's a major flaw with what you're suggesting. You're saying we should do a number of laps and that the criteria for choosing the finishing order is the difference between the fastest and slowest laps. This could be manipulated by people who would just do 10 really slow laps but have them all within 0.005 of a second. You'd have to have some kind of ranking based on consistency and outright pace (perhaps rank the differences and the fastest laps and calculate the finishing position as ((difference rank+fastest lap rank)/2)...

The outright finishing positions would just be ranked in order of increasing points...

However, this could mean a lot of work for the officials and people who run the unofficial leaderboard.

Obviously I didn't think it thru enough, but your suggestion sounds workable. Just give us a break with the hotlaps. A straight out 10 lap race .Anything to work on different aspects of driving like consistency etc.Enough start..stop...start...stop over and over. I realize the benefits and skills aquired with the hotlap,I'd just like a break.

@Drew....that's a great idea. The only thing I don't like about 10 laps or more, is when you get to the 10th lap and then make a stupid mistake and ruin a good run. I think something b/tw 3-5 laps would be better suited to the WRS, while the 10+ lap races should be for the JGTC or something like that.

3-5lap race sounds good to me... And one where we HAVE to deal with the AI almost the whole time... So, a set difficulty level maybe? That would mix it up a bit for sure...
