I've just had an absolute scream of an hour,

been running a few GT mode beginner hall races again for some light relief.

Hit on the truck races!

Leguna Seca, in either the Chevrolet Silverado concept '02 (which, let's face it we all will have!) or the Ford SVTF-150

All upgrades allowed in the rules of the race, except for NOS.

Which would make for sports tyres, 2 laps, no nitrous, no contact etc,etc

OR

Seatle again, but down the staircase and fast entry to the first chicane with a technical section straight after.
In the same trucks,
(though abviously not too soon for this one, as we've not long bin there)

Most fun I've had in the game for a while.

What I think is a really great 'car', is the Audi Pikes Peak. With 500hp it's more than fast enough, I just got one to 182MPH on the Le Sarthe! It doesn't even handle that bad.

Anyway, we have never had a race with a real 4WD so maybe we could give that a belt.

(That or the Audi Le Mans  )

VEXED
Well thank you.

Also, flat-out, I hear you loud and clear!
It's something else to have races lined up and only the weeks hold back your enjoyment. :P
Best of luck to ya on picking those races. :D

Regarding suggestions...
I made my best possible suggestions a moment ago but there are a few I left out.
Those being...
Evo/ Impreza battle 👍 (but we're doing an impreza now :P  )

That's something I've been testing 2 weeks ago.
Man, you read in my thoughts, you should be the WRS steward

Keep on suggesting anyway : I have several races ready but I'm constantly re-designing them and the suggestions are a good way to adapt my existing races to what people would like to see.

well, I was gonna look back through, but there's 35 pages, so.....
has anybody considered a 10 lap event? or maybe 20? just to see what people can do reliably in a longer race?
It would be neat to do this where people can only try once, but with diff schedules, that would never work, but I think a 10-20-30 lap race (or as much as you can get on one replay) would be cool.... just a thought

Week 12 was a 10-lapper and it was used as the qualifier race to join the GTP team for BC5.
You already know that week 36 will be run in Extreme events, which are pretty long races (compared to what we usually race).
The problem of such long races is that they don't fit really well in the weekly format. But we'll have such long multi-lappers once or twice in the year.

i´ve said this before but...

this car worth another mention.

Opel Astra DTM

if you don´t know him, you should try. one of the best handling cars in the game... drives on rails stuff

he could be another car we could throw in george paris... if we don´t race a french car there...

also, i like the truck idea... they are really cool...

and the CZ-3 was mention in this thread like... a lot... and we should run in this car... both tarmac and rally versions are great...

10 lappers are great but they pose one problem:

Hot604boi always wins.

:irked:👍

Kent, you spelt VEXD wrong, but then you knew that didnt you..... :sly:

Sorry about that. :guilty:
And no, actually I didn't realize I was spelling your name wrong.
I just have a tendency to use "ed" any time I'm thinking of something being done... Such as being vexed.
My bad. :(

All's good I hope though.

In any case, regarding the suggestions.

May I just make this one...
When we do a big race (10 laps) could we please use a car that does well with tire wear?
Also, if possible, it might be a good idea to do something that will require minimal setup.

Although it would be great to setup a car perfectly for the track, it might be a bit of a task to create that setup and then still get a clean race finished.

Just something to consider. ;)

I was kidding man, there is an extra e in the correct spelling, but not in my username, which i should love to have in capitals....

u couldnt swing that for me Kent, could you?

Maybe chat Jordan up a bit?

no?

nevermind....

:D

David just pay a few bucks and get premium for one month!!!

I don't want to go through 35 pages as well, so...

Has anyone suggest any Lotuses (Loti ?)? I love the Elise. It is one of my favorite cars and have driven it a bit, but would like some more challenges with it. I also really like the way the Elan can win races against much more powerful cars if you drive it right (the FR races in the Beginner Events).

I noticed that I missed the R32 race :banghead: and there already are Hot Hatch races and the GTI cup, but I really like the GTI.

Maybe I should suggest cars that I don't like (because I don't know them) as a way to get me to drive them...

Mitsu Evo, S2000, Alfas, etc

Just some random thoughts on this, you are doing a great job, but since this thread is here I thought I would add to it.

Just had a stint yesterday in my favorite car from my GT2 days... The 1996 Subaru Legacy GT-B wagon... I LOVE that thing! I STILL love it in GT4. Raced my friend in it yesterday while he used the '03 Legacy whatever it is now wagon. Handles great, and I think it'd work well with 20% more hp and 10% less weight on sports soft tires...

Maybe around Paris? I'll have to give it a whirl.

Uh... I hope you aren't missing it again this week then... Because it's F'n AWESOME!!!!

EDIT: The Z4 around New York in Arcade mode I think might work out well too for when we do that track...

We've used the RX-8 (or RX-7) at Trial Mountain reverse in week 17, and I have no plans to use it soon (unless you suggest a terrific combo, of course).

The Legacy has been in my plans for a while, but I'm still having the problem that I can only post one race per week.
As for New York, the recent poll seems to show that people don't want to race on this track, so I cancelled it from my plans so far.

Sounds good! When we did the RX race, I didn't like the RX8 much... Acted too much like it needed larger front tires, something that the 350Z also suffers from...

About New York, that's totally fine with me, I just know of a certain someone that happened to like that track though for some reason, and she'd love it... With the Z4 even... Hehehe.

Legacy,(GT-B) w000!

I still think the Caterham Super Seven Fire Blade needs breaking out sometime soon especially seeing as it can't be raced in GT mode. I think it would suit something very twisty and technical like the Driving Park MotorLand track?

I've been driving exclusively in N2's lately (yes, even the Pescarolos) and I've found that I've become a much better driver as a result. I think N2s are probably the most realistic of all tires; perhaps a bit grippier than real life but that just compensates for the lack of inertial feed back in a video game. How about a WRS with this tire requirement? (no driving aids either!!) :scared: Pagani Zonda around Nurburgring? you WILL learn to finesse the throttle, :) :) :) a crucial skill in driving any powerful car IRL.

N tyres are in my plans, but not on a Zonda :scared:
I wonder if it makes a big difference if you use a wheel or a pad with N tyres.

just a reminder, when we had el capitan, it was a normal car, both on week 1 and on week 13... so this might be a good time for a race car...

like the BMW mclaren or something forgotten like that...

Too late ;)

Week 1 was a tuning car, week 13 was indeed a road car.
I'll make sure we use a race car next time on El Capitan.

FWIW, the C1 Corvette is a sweet drive... And is pretty easy to score 200pt races with in the American series... Kind of reminds me of the way the Volvo 240 drives with the amount of grip and brakes that it has, but it's much lighter, and has more power, so it's a lot faster... Anywho, it's worthy of N2 or N3 tires even. Fun in GT Mode, haven't tried it with stock settings,(two speed transmission?!).

flat-out

With DS2 it's a piece of cake compared to when using a wheel, but with DFP it's more fun. Only no real differences in time, so that's good 👍

Actually Rob, it can!

I have one running at 239 Hp with all mod-cons.

Just been having a laugh with it round Tsukuba, doing sub 55 second laps. Loads of fun infact, it sits at 50mm from the floor, so it is probably the closest we will get to go-carting in GT4.

Lovely idea!

I know you can use it in GT simulation mode, but you can't actually use it in any of the races against AI. :) That's why i think it's ripe for the WRS.

Ahhh!

I see, said the blind man!

Get what you mean now mate. :)

I agree. It is really fun on any track without bumps, dodgy with. It is so light that it just takes off over the slightest, even rumble strips have it bouncing around.

Yeah, it's pants around the Nurburgring. Took it round once ... never again! It is a fast little bugger though.

HHHmm....I'd be down for more N tire races, I tend to learn the most when I use them, rather than the super soft tires. Like I believe the FPV and Suzuka East or w/e it was I think was on 'realistic' tires and that was a blast! Can't think of a good combo off the top of my head, but more N ties would be good.
